Quite apart from her obviously being at least partly joking, why should anyone give a shit? It's not like we monitor what people are reading. Judge them for it if they post it for review/in WbA, but other than that...

Lately, I've come across two or three things that have become a real pet-peeve.

    1. Pure as the wind-driven snow Harry (In relation to Ron). I don't know if Harry is everyone's literary Id or what, be he is just as much an ass as Ron at times - and that's towards Ron and Hermione.

    2. Voldemort's dead - Harry's ok! Throw in whatever variant you want. The mental and verbal abuse alone at the Dursleys insures that it will take time for Harry to heal. Add to that all the other crap he deals with and there is no way Harry turns into a well-adjusted wizard in two months.

    2. a. Soul bonds fix everything that's wrong with Harry. Seriously? Harry just as to find some blond Veela soul bond to make everything great?

    >: Not quite sure what that entails.

Pet Peeve: When a pureblood, (usually Draco) claims to have memorized every pureblood last name, and can tell right off the bat whether someone is a muggleborn or not, solely from their name.

Black for example, isn't a super rare muggle surname. I can imagine a muggleborn with that last name boarding the train.

Probably the warmest welcome I've gotten so far, apart from Menace (; I'd like to keep me too.

    I'm... confused.

    Thanks :)

I know who Ashaya is from visiting threads, but I'm confused as to how I'm the 'anti-ashaya'.

You were clear, I just think you're wrong. :D

LOL, I'll let the others in DLP's Monitoring Division know that you think so.

We even have a locked server, devoted to nothing but the study of love... fanfic. Now, if you'll excuse me, we're experiencing some mysterious packet loss to the computer housing The Veil.

I would have been worried if you didn't.

Everyone thinks thinks their own jokes are funny. That's why they say them.

One of my pet peeves is the way that authors handle the Ministry. I think even JKR did a poor job of handling it. Apparently the Ministry breeds incredibly competent individuals like Moody (and to a lesser extent Crouch Sr. during the First War). Yet somehow this three hundred year old institution that's responsible for governing magical Britain somehow falls because Yaxley managed the "incredibly difficult" task of placing the Imperius curse on a particular Ministry figure (Thicknesse). If Voldemort was so easily able to destabilize the Ministry like that, why didn't he do it the first time?

Overall, I don't think authors explore the concept of the Ministry enough. I think the most interesting take was the explanation in "On The Way to Greatness", but I'm still waiting on an update there to see in what direction the author takes his concept of the ministry.

While I'm not a big Ron fan, I really dislike when he's portrayed as a complete pig that's as thick three foot titanium armor plating. I blame this partially on Rowling as she wrote Ron as the normal one when she should have made him more of a strategist instead of Hermione getting that role too.

A pet peeve of mine is when some authors write something good and only releases a couple of chapters, and after that leaves the story unfinnished.

Speaking as someone who's done this, I've gotta say, there are a variety of reasons for doing it, ranging from losing interest in the story to real life to being burnt out on it. In my case, it happened because quite a few of my reviewers were content to simply say MOAR and never give any constructive criticism.

Hell, the closest thing I got to it was a flame because my story was from the protagonist's viewpoint and I wrote out his opinion on another character. Apparently, said character was flamer's favorite character of all time, because the fact that this fic was primarily written from the protagonist's viewpoint apparently didn't factor in.
