A young and neglected Harry Potter runs away from home, only to be found by an escaped Grindelwald. Harry begins to apprentice to Grindelwald, Voldemort returns, but is quiet while training his own apprentice, the Dark Knight. Ends with Harry's twin defeating Voldemort.

It would be a Grindelwald + His followers + Harry vs. Twin + Dumbledore + The Order vs. Voldemort + His heir (Dark Knight - Only revealed near the end.)

Sequel: Anarchy
The war is reaching a climax, the Ministry fell when the Unspeakables deserted, the war is spreading to the continent, when the exiled Unspeakables return with a vengeance, rallying around a new leader.

The Unspeakable's new leader would be a Beauxbaton's pupil (Dumbledore & Voldemort from Hogwarts, Grindelwald from Durmstrang, sure Beauxbatons had some student of note?)

The Unspeakables, while not advanced in direct combat, would have innovative methods and strange spells and items to make up for their lack of power.

So the sequel would be Harry + Grindelwald + Followers (German) vs. Dumbledore + Twin + Order (Britain) vs. Dark Knight + Death Eaters (From all over) vs. Unspeakables (From Britain & France)

Rules:
- Harry's twin is slightly arrogant, but is well trained and powerful enough to back it up.
- The Dark Knight is as powerful as Voldemort, in his prime, better trained, and much more flexible.
- The sides are evenly matched, with each having different specialties.
- No superpowers, Harry is not a metamorphmagus, a Shadow Mage, an Elemental, and has ONE animagus form. (Not Magical)
- No part Vampire crap
- No cliche's

Random ideas:
- Harry could have a Rhino / Bear (Augurey's idea) animagus - I've never seen one in fanfiction

I've seen one, and frankly, I thought it was a rather odd idea. Poorly executed anyway.

Harry's TWIN in any story, for any reason, is fucking stupid. But that's just me.

 

Why can't one of these stories ever have Harry's twin suddenly drown in Thestral shit, leaving the neglected true-BWL as the sudden focus of the world's attention?

EDIT: Hell, why haven't we seen a bear animagus? They're much more common than jaguars or rhinos, and Grizzly!Harry could knock some sense into Hagrid.

Also, I got the Dark Knight from A Stranger in an Unholy Land, albeit this one is far different to the serpant-sorcerer's.

Maybe it is just me, but this summary leaves a foul taste in my mouth. Too many OC and possible self inserts.
I can't say I've read original HP for many times, yet I can't remember any scene where Voldemort would share power. Or teach someone. Or tolerate someone who would be on the same power lvl as him in his ranks.

- Dark Knight-Harry could discredit Dumbledore in his post-defeating the Dark Knight triumph by declaring Grindelwald a hero, the sheep would believe him, and he would have no competition gaining the post of Minister for Magic, the first Dark Lord to manage that.
