This is a joke.. right? I'm only in the 5th chapter, but I've already encountered BestFriend!Draco, Honorable!Snape, Fatherly!Lucius ... and the pairing is H/G?

The little bit of Dursley torturing doesn't seem worth it.

    LOL.

That's got to be a troll

This is the sequel of the sequel of the "rip-off", isn't it?

The prequels to this - "The Darkness Within" and "A Part of me" are quite highly rated here, you really need to read atleast "The Darkness Within" to understand and enjoy this fic, though admittedly the H/G is annoying.

The Snape and Draco thing was annoying, but if you read the prequels I think you would enjoy it. Somewhat... And it isn't really a fatherly Lucius also. It is more Fatherly Voldemort and Motherly Bella.

My opinion is that he should have left it at A darkness within. A part of me was a bit much but still a good read.

    My rating 3/5

Agreed. The Darkness Within was good, A Part of me had no real direction, since Voldemort was vanquished. The third part seems to be interesting, with the other dimensions Harry. Depends on where he takes it though.

The previous segments are in the library? Really? I didn't see them so point me towards a link please.

The nearest thread to this subject I can find is where Project Dark Overlord openly questioned the massive amounts of plagiarism going on with Kurinoone's story. It was permitted to a degree, and then the author obviously took the storyline further on her own, but there's a point where 'thanks for the inspiration' becomes plain and simple thievery.

From what I remember of the first fic, this wasn't for me. I think I may have made an argument on how it's fics like these that give people horribly inaccurate concepts of "dark" fic.

I know A Shattered Prophecy by Project Dark Overlord is in the recycling bin here, but the only thread for The Darkness Within got toasted for not even being trash bin worthy.

That killed off any hope of this one making it. I'll be sure to read Project Dark overlord's work.

But to be fair the alternate universe thing looks like it is her's. I don't like it much though.

I found them through DLP library, its possible they were deleted when the plagiarism was uncovered, but they definitely WERE in the library.

I see a thread titled "The Darkness Within by kurinoone - T" was made 06-16-2006. It's possible there have been others but this is the only one I can see.

    A few choice comments included:
And then the OP who first added it to the library said:
And then on August 7th, less than two months after being posted, the thread was mercifully deleted with 5 votes and a 2.2 average. And well over a year before the plagiarism was a topic of discussion.

I think it may have predated the For Review system and was around the time the Trash Bin was created.

So yes, you could have gotten the link from here over those two months in 2006 (or a 'tarded intro maybe), but I doubt it came with a ringing endorsement.

Usually, a fairly good author takes something less well-written and improves it, and then defends himself against accusers. Kurinoone took it to the opposite extreme.

It's hard to plagiarize something and make it even worse.

Yet Kurinoone succeeded beyond my wildest expectations.

If this gets the 4 stars necessary to get into the library, then I'll know that some of the mindless fans registered specifically to vote.

    For future reference: http://forums.darklordpotter.net/showthread.php?t=2803

I've forgotten to check it a few times myself lol.

It's a sequel of a fic born out of massive plagiarism. I would not even bother to read this. Instant fail. 1/5, only because I can't give it and it's prequels the 0/5 rating that they deserve.

Any fic that plagiarizes another simply cannot get a rating higher than zero, no matter how much better it is written (which isn't even the case here).

I have read the first part, The Darkness Within some time ago and it wasn't worth the time. The sequels are much-much worse. 1/5.
