    Summary

It hasn't been done to the best of my Knowledge and I'm not about to try.

Sixth or Seventh Year, preferably seventh, Harry (purposefully or not) arrives late to Hogwarts just after the sorting feast. Only this time everyone notices.

The gist; (Make it a back story- whatever) When James and Lily heard the prophesy, they inform their best friends Sirius and Alice Longbottom. Sirius in his usual style decides to sneak back home(Grimald place) he gathers ever book that could have any type of protective magic. After their first hiding place is compromised (Way before the fidelius business), the Potter's decide with Neville's parents that they cast every and all types of charms to protect the boys (I need a way for Neville to have an idea of whats going on in the future - that in Hogwarts). For four days, the lots (Sirius, James, Lily, Alice and Frank) haven researched, cast millions of charms in hopes that they'd protect the boys.

Couple of weeks later, the whole canon business happens. Instead of Hagrid Dumbledore goes up to pick-up Harry. There's a reason its Dumbledore(he's strong in occulmency). But, Dumbledore does not notice anything. He delivers the kid and life goes on. However long later, Harry receives his letter. Flitwick comes to pick him (small talent in occlumency), they do the whole shopping business. Unlike canon, Harry shows way more interest, not entirely childish interest in his surroundings.

Harry goes to Hogwarts. One his parents charms, that survived the killing curse, comes into full activation. The charm works in away like the NOTICE-ME-NOT spell. I'm sure someone can come up with something better. Anyways when Harris name is called the whole great hall scene from canon happens. However after that Harry's sorting, Harry just disappears into his house (Hufflepuff). The gist of the spell is basically. You eyes do not linger on Harry more than a second at most. He's just basically ignored or you forget speaking to him, just after seconds of doing said thing. He's there everyone knows he is but the knowledge is locked somewhere in the back of their mind. Harry's freedom is unlimited. Only strong Occulmency during great concentration can, for lack of a better word, notice him.

Come up with which ever way to go through first to sixth year. Harry does all that he does, even archives more. He gets school awards, presented by Dumbledore and one or two members of the board(Reason for awards, basically gives him so special treatments in school - prefect, headboy etc.) But events force all this into secrecy.

Year seven, Harry magic maturation is past so the effects of the spell is neutralized/destroyed.

So going back to the top. Harry enters the hall and everyone is like who the heck his that. Someone figures its Harry, they are very confused. They remember flashes of seeing, speaking to him, watching him do some incredible stuff. They strangely can't remember the details, but they know they've been around him anyways. They can't explain. A lot of them are curious. Many are suspicious. Very soon they learn that Harry is very powerful and rich. His school robes are altered to include his family crest, this offcourse draw attention from the females that want a trophy husband or whatever. It chaotic and Harry is loving it. His manipulating everything to his advantages. Lets just Agree that his morals are a bit dubious.

He has a confrontation with Dumbledore. He basically tells Dumbledore to go fuck himself because he's not overly interested in fighting Voldemort. He respects Voldemorts strength. Not too eager to tango with him. But for some financial reason he decides whatever and goes for him once. During a little confrontation with deatheaters and Aurors Harry happens to out shine a depleted Voldemort. Rita gets it all on tape. So Harry is unwittingly called a Hero, his fame triples even. People want him to fight Voldemort. Voldemort angry at rita article decides to go after the Harry. You create a scenario were Dumbledore had to break a stale mate that might have gone Voldemorts way. The deatheaters record the moment of Harry's weakness fighting Voldemort. Although impressive, it sends a message to the wizarding world: Harry might not be able to save them.

So Harry makes deals with Dumbledore... not leader/follower more like you help me I help you...

    RULE
NOTE: Harry does not at anytime show weakness, he's arrogant enough to be able to twist any situation or atleast convince everyone that he was always in charge.

    Thats pretty much it.

I was going to actually write something until remembered I have not talents, but here's what I have... I don't think I'd get past this - not that I want to even try. enjoy.

    September 1996

“Who is that?” head girl Hermione Granger asked her best Lavender Brown.

“I think…” she paused as if recollection from the back of her mind an information not readily available, “but it can’t be” it puzzled her that she would think, it couldn’t be; what couldn’t be! “That’s Harry Potter, oh my, he’s well fit.”

“I know,” Hermione replied evenly, perhaps more puzzled than her best friend. “But how come I’ve never noticed…” she paused looking to her friend who was openly gaping at the figure identified as Harry Potter, “how come we’ve never noticed someone of his presences before?” And he did have a presence.

“What house is he in again?”

“His robes… look like he is in Hufflepuff.”

“Are you sure, he looks… he walks, I don’t know. He doesn’t look very Hufflepuff to me.”

    “I know.”

If the two friends had been paying attention they would have noticed that the larger percentage of the hall was in as much bewilderment concerning Harry Potter as they were. Surely he couldn’t have been in Hogwarts all these while and she was just, really, noticing him. Being one not to be easily deterred, Hermione began to searching, recollecting vaguely of having ever speaking to him. He was different then; her subconscious reminded her, but not really remembering how he was so. It was in the library that much was certain; she remembered, he was pouring over a tome. She had approached him; the conversation that followed however she would never remember.

Hermione shook herself from her thought; paying closer attention to this new Harry Potter, one she couldn’t remember much about. He was tall, almost as tall as the Gryffindor Quidditch goalkeeper, Ronald Weasley. Around six two she estimated. He was dressed in very posh black dress robe, slightly altered to fit school regulation. He had Hufflepuff school crest on his left chest in contrast to everyone else that had there’s on the right. Occupying the right chest of his robe was another crest. A family crest, Hermione concluded. He is after all the last of the potters, and if he anything like and unlike her, he just come of age and also come into his lordship. With that thought in mind, her sight drifted off to his right hand middle finger, and there it rested the potter family ring.

It didn’t take very long to notice the great hall was the most quiet she had ever seen it at the beginning of term, and it was all because everyone had started to notice Harry Potter. Harry Potter the wizard of so much speculation had been delayed from the beginning of school term ceremonies. His excuse, no one would ask and he wouldn’t tell. The opening feast was not compulsory, though it was advised against missing it.

Harry Potter continued his drive towards the Hufflepuff table, inclined to ignore the scrutiny of hall. Before he could reach his sit, Professor Snape would disrupt him.

“Potter you arrogance continues to baffle me, fifty points from Hufflepuff for missing sorting ceremonies.”

Amidst the Hufflepuff groans, collectively the Great hall looked towards the four giant hourglasses standing in niches in the corner opposite the main doors. The yellow gemstones of the Hufflepuff house however did not bulge. Potter however shot the professor a condescending look before continuing to his sit. By now Professor Snape was seeing red.

“Potter, what did you do to Hogwarts equipment?”

Harry still in the patronizing manner looked at the head table; it seemed that he was fighting an internal battle before answering the professor. “Hogwarts a History, Standard Edition, page 203, second paragraph.”

The response shocked the hall until someone from the Ravenclaw began reciting said paragraph. “Although advised by staff heads, and this is for your safety (unless of course you’re not a student), the beginning of term Hogwarts feast is not compulsory for seventh year students and neither is the sorting ceremony. Hedger Jugson wrote said rule to in bid to deliver the 777 Hogwarts rule to the board of governors in 1616… ”

“Thank you Luna. Perhaps we can continue with speech headmaster. Sorry Professor once again James Potter’s son wins. Wanker.” The last bit he said in a whisper, which carried around the hall anyways. Professor Snape, if possible, was turning redder, before he could retort the headmaster interceded. Even he, Hermione noticed seemed to be a bit perplexed by Harry’s sudden appearance. Strange that he wasn’t trying to hide it or maybe Hermione was the only one to notice.

“Yes, rules. Beautiful thing they are. The forbidden forest is…” Hermione tuned him to focus back on Harry who was sitting by himself twirling his wand and her friend Lavender, who was gushing about Harry being the head of his family; reason for having his family crest on his uniform. The headmaster eventually concluded his speech and dismissed the hall. Hermione noticed that like many of the students, majority of the staff table was still watching Harry who was now twirling his wand. Before the first prefects started helping the new students, Neville Longbottom from the Gryffindor table was heading over to the Hufflepuff table. Hermione noticed that like Harry, he also was wearing a family crest on his uniform. In the chaos that followed from students reuniting and seeking exit from the hall Hermione lost sight of Harry and Neville.

Professor McGonagall was confused. She felt like she was just seeing the Son of James and Lily for the first time, yet she knew he had been in her class for the last six years. Trying, she recollected that he was a very good student, brilliant even. What was confusing however was why she only felt like this was apparent now? Watching a character like his, so much like that of James with a blend of Lilys, could never have gone unnoticed in a place like Hogwarts. And he was in Hufflepuff, how and why? And yet, as she asked herself this questions, she recollected that she was there, present, she called his name during the sorting ceremony. Everything after that became fuzzy. She had graded his work many times, brilliant they were, almost to the standards of Ms. Granger, but she couldn’t recollect ever seeing a demonstration in her classes. Was she bewitched she pondered. Bewitched by whom though! It was all very confusing. Perhaps she would bring it up with Albus. Yes, that’s what she’ do. But not tonight, tonight she would try to find previous grades, anything to recollect in detail, Harry Potter in her class.

For hours later, a tired Professor McGonagall remained up, reading previously turned in assignment essays by Harry Potter.

Harry Potter was having a good day. There was something empowering about unbalancing the entire school, including the great Albus Dumbledore. Add to the fact that he was already one up on Snape, his finally year couldn’t have started any better. The only down side however was the suspicious looks he was getting from some of his own house mates, but he already anticipated those. The headmaster had just dismissed the hall before he was approached by his best mate.

“How does it feel being noticed?”

“Empowering. This term is going to be the most interesting yet. So much to do, yet, so little time.”

“I can tell, don’t know if that however is a good thing.”

Good god man, that is awful. The challenge at the start has little or no promise, the the small section you have written is talentless and is riddled with mistakes. The overall quality of the writing is not up to an average DLP standard.

As well as that, you're illogical. If the spell forces everyone to not pay attention to Harry, how could he have a best friends. And how could he hold a conversation with Hermione in the library is she was prevented from paying attention to him for more than a second or so.

So says the, what was it you called me in that PM? Oh yes, So says the Self Righteous Dick Head.

Oh, and don't double post "Home boy" its against the rules

Holy hell, Mordecai, it wasn't that bad. I've seen much worse than this. The whole "Spell to protect Harry from the killing curse" annoyed me, though. If it could be found in a book, even in a book in possession of the Black's, every Death Eater would employ it. Voldemort himself would kill to have that spell at hand. It's just not very feasible that Sirius would just happen to find a spell like that.

Other than that, interesting concept. Has a few more kinks to be taken out of it, but the general idea is good.

Protect from the Killing Curse? That pretty much makes that spell useless now. One of its appealing qualities is that its unblockable with magic.

It's not bad as an idea, but it will take talent to pull off - talent I don't have.

On the subject of an anti-AK protection spell: yep, in the Black library. Voldemort knows of it - as evidenced in CoS - but can't use it. Why? Well, it's powered by the protected's mother sacrificing her life. It's still a plot-hole, but now it's not such a bottomless pit of a plot-hole.

There aren't any official standards, but most of the authors on the forum produce at a high quality, or at the very least an acceptable quality.

I liked the idea, though, that may just be because I like Hufflepuff house. People don't understand the importance of loyalty, especially to Dark Lords.

I wonder if those charms worked on the Hat, and it just let him pick his house.

I didn't get that it was just one spell that blocked the curse. I figured it was some combination of hundreds of spells that did it. Applied during infancy. By witches and wizards with strong reputations.

    I would definately read this.

Very cool idea. I agree, the plot holds some holes, but with the right author, this could come out nicely. There are way too few stories featuring Harry in Hufflepuff IMO. What can I say, ever since I read "Shake Me" i've had a thing for that house.

Seriously though, whoever's up to it, write it.
