Carvell's Challenge 2

Here I go,

Harry at the end of his 4th year get's charged for murdering Cedric and thus get's sentenced to the dementor kiss but something is not right.
Harry's soul get's sucked out of him but there is a second soul within him that off his mother's who then takes over Harry's body after the kiss.
1 Lily soul winds up in Harry on that halloween night somehow ( you decide but it must be dark magic to protect Harry).
2 Lily takes over and begin's to fight those who hurt her son ( dursleys - voldermort - dementor)
3 Lily must be a dark witch unknown to all ( for a long as you can make it possible)
4 She is the POWER THE DARK LORD KNOWS NOT and harry must get his body back upon Tom's death ( neither can live etc etc )

the story start's at the start of the summer between 4th and 5th year and Lily is having none of Dumbledore's " protection and other shit". she has her own plans.

 

Would Lily still be a witch if she was in Harry's body?

I agree with Dark Syaoran in that I wouldn't want to read a fic about Lily; she reminds me of Ginny too much and I don't like nonHarry-centric fics in general.

 

Maybe you can have Dark!Lily's soul be sucked out instead of Harry's, but it leaves/unlocks all her knowledge and magic when her sould disappears, because the knowledge and magic has no other soul to oin with.

Maybe have Harry play dead and then come back from the 'grave'. That is, he'd come back from Azkaban because Wizards are retarded enough to leave a catatonic person with Dementors o_o.

It'd be cool, however, if Harry wasn't a vengeful fucker. As in he wasn't all gung-ho about destroying every last shred of authority in the Wizarding World then leaving it to rot. Maybe make Dumbledore a good guy? Like he was horrified that they'd use the kiss on Harry, and suports him and teaches him all sots of wicked powerful light magic. After all, Lily is no match for Dumbledore.

Good idea, I'd like to see this.

 

I would seriously be interested in reading this if someone wrote it. I would myself but I just don't have enough time.

Lily =/= Ginny. Ginny =/= Lily!!

But I will agree with the general feelings put forth and say I wouldnt read this idea. Not because it sucks. Because it does, just thats not why. I like Lily and all but I wouldnt read Lily-centric shit.

Now, if you had Harry go all psycho and her spirit started TALKING to harry and pushing him to the dark side and all that, it would still suck, but I would read THAT.

 

I'll second Vash's call of blasphemy. Comparing Lily to Ginny is just plain wrong. We know barely nothing of Lily, so give her the benefit of the doubt. She was screwing a Potter, and arguably just about defeated a Dark Lord. In this fic idea, she kinda did. You think Molly Weasley (who is Ginny in a few decades, assuming Ginny keeps getting visited by the homely fairy) would've stood a chance in a similar situation?

I'm just wondering if this is something like 'Lily's always been that voice in his head he thought was his conscience.' Only now, she's in charge of the body and Harry's just the voice. And of course, then knowing your mom was in your head every time you masturbated could prove to be embarassing. But on the plus she might get you laid and teach you a thing or two about not being a complete wussy attention starved twit.

I guess I'd need Harry around, even if it's just locked in his head, to give two craps about this story. Otherwise, it's just the author's made-up dark!witch story, who happens to reside in Harry's body.

 

The potenial is great, however I fear that an untalented writer will take it and make Lily a ginny copy, and make it a mary-sue/gary-stu, ignoring the part of DARK. If a good author (IP or vorlorn666) would take it, the story will be great.

 

I would like to see, what events in Lily's past would cause her to become dark? What would be her motivations for being evil?
And how would that affect Harry?
If she became a Ginny replica I think I might die.

 

I find myself liking this challenge quite alot...probably 'cos I don't mind non-Harry-centric stories.

Lily doesn't even have to be dark...independant yes, but I'd quite like to see a story where light magic is powerful as well as dark magic (after all, the light has always won in the past - Dark magic can't be that powerful) and Lily certainly is well versed in light magic.

It also provides a nice way for Harry/Lily to suddenly gain a load of knowedge and make up for all the wasted years, but it's unique in that, unlike getting Voldemort's knowledge, having Lily's does not automatically mean that Harry/Lily is ready to win the war - although it certainly gives them a nice boost.

However, I don't think I'd like for it to be a rant filled, Volorn-esque revenge fic, as evidenced by:

I think we've all had enough of that. Far better to have a rational, sensible calm Harry/Lily who is willing to work with people like Dumbledore, who may meddle a bit, but are certainly not evil and is on the same side.

 

That would be funny. "Stop being a pussy, Harry. Ask her out."

I agree with the statements saying that non Harry-centric stories suck. Keep him in it and it would be worth reading.
