I feel like we'll come to combat before long, so if you didn't have armor/a weapon, I'll let you have mine and disguise you, then walk at the back of the group with a readied Disguise Self spell to make me appear like a guard, ready to snap it off before I can be seen. If I can't manage, I'll just pretend to be a prisoner.

Roland grunts, rolling his shoulders unused to the weight of armor.

"We need to get out as quickly as we can, we can come back and deal with the rest later, but I'd rather be prepared and properly equipped before we take on the guards here."

Well, it's been more than 24 hours, and I was the only one who thought exploring/killing this wizard was a good idea, so I guess we can just press forward through the double doors. Would like a ruling on Lexgud, though.

Luxgud has his sword and armor. I figured he'd thrown some rags on top of them to continue with his prisoner disguise. Didn't roll a disguise roll for him because the guard was inspecting the guards, not the prisoners.

You push through the double doors, and find yourselves outside for the first time in weeks. The wind brushes your face, bringing with it the smells of salt and the sea.

You are in a courtyard. Directly in front of you is a fountain, with a large statue of a heavily armed man in the center of it. The statue is pointing his sword at the keep, and water shoots up around his feet.

The entire courtyard is surrounded by high, stone walls. Beyond the statue, you see a gatehouse, presumably a barricade to your freedom. Beside the door into the gatehouse, you spot a small wooden enclosure. To your left is a long and winding path through the courtyard that appears to be leading to a lone tower set in the walls. To your right, you can make out a small garden. Presumably that's where fresh produce is grown for the guards.

    What do you do?

Marcinus takes a deep breath and savours the wind on his face. Taking a moment to look around the courtyard carefully he then pointedly looks at the gatehouse.

    Perception: 1d20+2=12

You take a look at the gatehouse. You see people moving on the roof. As you watch, you see another few people walking out of the gatehouse and onto the walls, lit by a glowing lantern.

A scent also blows through the air, and hits your nose. It smells like wet dog, of all things. It appears to be coming from the wooden enclosure.

Roland whistles slowly, annoyance showing on his face.
"Damn it all to the Fifth bloody Circle, they've got dogs. Witch, or anyone else, you got anything to deal with dogs without making it obvious?"

"I can probably calm them, but it's risky and won't help us much after the fact. Ruby could probably put them all to sleep, so let's go with that, hmm?"

Checking out the guardhouse, Perception is 13/15vs Humans.

"My magic will not be useful against a pack of dogs. One, I could handle silently, but beyond that..."

I look around, trying to spot the dogs and anything else of importance. Perception: 2+5 = 7. Where is my god now?

"It'd be obvious," Marcinus says quietly.

Now that I am aware that there are dogs, could I do a targeted perception check to find where they are, and subsequently see if their enclosure is flammable? If so, Perception 22 (damn, I would roll a nat 20 on something I'm not even sure I can do!)

As you track one of the lanterns moving on the walls, you spot a lit window at the top of the tower behind you.

Alerted to dogs, you take a closer look around. Your eye settles on the small wooden enclosure, where you're sure you see some movement. It is most definitely flammable.

You do note it's location. It is right outside the door into the gatehouse. Setting it ablaze would most definitely draw some sort of response.

"Shhh!" Zadok whispers, and points to the lit room above them.

You all look, following Zadok's finger. He's pointing to the tower set in the walls far behind you. At the top of it, a lone window is lit.
