I always thought L washing Light's feet was a referance to the Bible and the Last Supper.

Yeah but come on be serious that was also a slash reference. Fanservice and whatnot. Two birds with one stone, you made the slash fans happy and the non-slash fans not blow a gasket. Though I actually liked that scene because L looked cute. Yes he looked cute. The whole "the bells are ringing" made me feel bad though. Honestly Death Note should have ended after.
    L's death
because after that the whole series ended up going to the pits.

I liked that episode for the 'bells ringing' part as well...but then we get the feet washing thing, causing me to snort juice up my nose at the sheer stupidity of it.

    The voice for Light fails.
He sounds so young that he can't pull off the evil thing much.
Misa is, well Misa is Misa.
I find her funny, and strangely enough I am a fan of her character.
The voice for L was amazing.
    Then L died, I'm sad.

As stated before, When L died, that is when the anime should of ended.

Raito = Engrish version of Light. His name is light, just like the Code Geass character is Karen, not Kallen. Just because japs can't pronounce L's correctly doesn't mean we have to pretend they did that on purpose. (Of course, I'm assuming Raito doesn't have an alternate meaning in Jap... which would mean the english peeps are retarded for being lazy and just calling him Light.)

Righto has a double meaning. It sounds like both 'write' and 'light,' as in Light writes in the death note and as either ironic nomination (he is not a character on the 'light' side) or possibly that he is the 'light' of a new world/justice.

Also, the manga would have finished at the end of volume six, but it was so popular the creators were asked to continue it. This explains it's devolution into a shitty deconstruction of the shonen genre.

So that explains the OOCness random plot holes and generally unlikable extra characters (Mello, Near and Takeda anyone?) Ugh I hate her she's such a stupid bitch she makes Misa look intelligent. (Not that Misa's an idiot but still...) Haha.

The creator should have put their foot down and said "No I'm ending it where it ended." then we might have a great manga instead of just a good one. Honestly shinigami Raito would have rocked. [I'm too used to reading Raito from fanfiction...I know its Light but Raito is what I end up typing so meh.]

Yeah, manga editors are absolutely assholes when it comes to this and they have a great deal of pull over creators sometimes. Even in popular series, like the Yuyu Hakusho manga, the author wanted to end it at one point (after the Dark Tournament) and the editors put 'End Chapter 1' at their own discretion.

Then they did it again. It was so bad that the author just completely stuffed it into a crappy tournament cluster-fuck at the end just to finish it. Watch it in the anime, the tournament comes out of nowhere.

I won't even acknowledge Death Note after volume six.

    Light is God.

P.S. Is it just me, or does the current stint of anime/manga creators not know how to do justice to Light/Lelouch type characters?

I can never get into Death Note after knowing what they turn Light into and nearly poped a vein at episodes 24-25.

P.P.S. Care to share some of those fics?

Um...on this site Hell no. They're excellent fics (mostly) IC but um...are yaoi so no. I consider Death Note ending after volume 7. Though to be honesty like 95%* of Death Note fanfiction is yaoi. Mostly because of the dry female characters and the dissmisive way Raito treats them. L is dead Raito runs to world as a god until Ryuk finally gets bored and kills him (because he is the last criminal left XD) and Raito ends up being a shinigami at the end and takes over the shinigami world because Raito rocks that fucking much.

PS: You're right. Death Note's author was doing great until volume 8. Then it became really shitty and unbelieveable.

PPS: There's another fic where Raito kills Near and ends up turning into a god but I haven't read it in some time. I think it might have been deleted.

I haven't seen YYH in like forever. I don't even know how many manga volumes there are.

*Seriously every site just about 4/5 freakin stories are LxRaito. And only 1/20000 are well written. Stupid iditoic yaoi fangirls making L and/or Raito OOC. Honestly ugh Raito would never say "I love you L!" UGH. *facepalm* Raito's a freakin' asexual people! He's manipulative and controlling! The only time I buy him being overly emotional is if the fic is taking place during the Yotsuba arc.

Death Note's plot is too specific for plot driven fanfiction. You can't outdo the plot of a manga like Death Note or Code Geass ect... This limits fanfiction to one-shots exploring character mindsets. This is opposed to fandoms like Naruto, Harry Potter, or even Inu-yasha and Ramna 1/2, where the characters and the environments are awesome, but the plots suck moldy testicles. Those fandoms are perfect for chaptered fanfiction.

Oh god... Yu Yu Hakusho... Oh sweet jesus that was lulzy. The manga-ka quite obviously said "fuck this shit" and purposefully pulled what most call a great case of DBZ syndrom- Randomly extending it in such a repeated, utterly copypasta way that it HAD to be pulled.

I watched the subbed anime from some streaming sites, and found it to very thrilling. Because I read spoilers on it I knew how bad it gets so I never watched past L's death. The epic potato chip scene though... now that was massive win.

O_O I just watched the dub and heard Mello's and Near's voices. *cringe* Near's was as robotic and annoying as I had pictured but Mello sounds fucking retarded. Ugh. Another reason not to watch the series after episode 25 the voices went from bad to fucking unbearable.

To say I hate Light is an understatement. I wish I could skin him alive and slowly remove each and every one of his internal organs and squish them under my feet.

On that note I didn't like Death Note at all. I got tired of him introducing characters that I really liked and then killing them off. When L died I just sat the whole thing down in disgust.

So I guess uninspired plot is preferable? L had to die really, he was too good to live, the series actually ties him to religious figures. Of course he was going to be sacrificed to the "god" Kira. In my opinion episode 25 was probably the best of the entire series. After that the entire series went downhill fast.

Though everyone else has likely thought this, I'd like to post it. At the ending of Death Note, we all know what Ryuk does. He did it because he didn't want to see Light rot away in a prison. Now think of this. If Near could convince, anyone really, that Light was Kira he would get the Death sentence. But as Light's lifespan is long enough that Ryuk figures he would get bored watching Light. So if Light obviously had quite a long life left.

Now my thought. If Near proved Light=Kira and Kira=Death Sentence that would mean Light's Life Span=Tragically Short by the End. But at the End Light's Lifespan=Long Time. So he wouldn't have been executed.

Now seeing as Light admitted to being Kira it would be pretty damn hard for anyone to find him innocent. But as he was obviously not executed, he was not convicted. Meaning Near never caught him, meaning Light got away.

Now is there anyone who has watched this series that doubts Light Could kill Near if he had three seconds to himself? And without Near, and Light, both Kira investigations would have fallen apart.

In conclusion what I'm trying to say is basically, if Ryuk hadn't killed Light, Light would have won.

Or Light could of bleed to death. Basically, you and I have no clue how long Light could of lived.
Also, I don't think Ryuk would of got bored. A trial with Kira would be amazing.

Aw...I had a long post but my comp ate it :(

Anyway. Near was never planning on letting Raito go on trial. Near was going to place Raito in an isolated prison in solitary confinement for the rest of his life. So that he could regret being "Kira" and mourn the loss of his ideal. Basically Near was going to be an asshole and torture Raito mentally.

Another reason that I hate Near. I had a nice Near rant written but I'm not in the mood to rewrite that. Anyway Near's an ass who used other people and never gave them credit. (Matt and L) Though he sort of gave Mello credit. "Together Mello and I surpassed L" Yeah never mind the fact that you being an asshat got Mello killed

No I just don't like the series. Mine and Lights world view differ so much that I get irritated just listening to him talk. It doesn't help much that his hypocrisy is so huge that it would probably kill off most third world countries.
