    The scary thing, though, is that I don't think the writer intended it as a parody.

    I found this one a while ago, and I honestly couldn't get past chapter 2. The writing isn't horrible but the plot devices are entirely screwy. I'd have to go with Angelofdreams13 when he said that

    Rant ->
    I had to stop reading the moment I read his name (I didn't even get to the homo-erotic vampire feeding that was mentioned) as, 1) he's English, and 2) he says he was trained in North America; what part of that would lead to the idiot having something so blatantly Asian-like? It wasn't even a good one (Musha Kai), it made me think of some kind soggy fish (Mushy Koi anyone?). I have nothing against Asian elements working their way into a story if the plot is set someplace in the East and/or they're executed with a bit of finesse and not in the manner noted above, but it always struck me as odd that a kid from Surrey would go all samurai or (as seems to be the case here, even though he's an 'assassin') ninja for no other reason than the author thinks it's 'cool'.

    Why pick up a katana (everyone and his dog seems to use this one and it's gotten old) when Europe has a long history of developing weapons to cut people into tiny bits: Roman Gladius, Short Sword, Long Sword, Hand-and-a-half Sword, Claymore, etc. Just once I want to see Harry use a Morning Star for shits and giggles. Throw into that the fact that British Wizarding society consists of a bunch of insular bigots and Harry hasn't had much exposure to T.V and it becomes a tad ridiculous. <- End rant.

    There are of course exceptions, I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure I've seen a few.

    Anywho, back to the topic at hand. The writing leaves something to be desired. One of my pet peeves is using '100' instead of 'one hundred' (or any number) in formal writing, but that could just be a weird quirk of mine. The plot elements could have been executed in a much more believable way, not the least by giving us a little more lead up before tossing the poor bastard to the wolves. From what I managed to read, could this even be considered Harry Potter besides the fact that she seems to have hijacked the villains (and even then she wrote in an OC)? As was said, the trap was too perfect and more than contrived. and as for this bit of useless: “Unbreakable as diamond, immovable as the earth itself.”, what can I say to that besides 'cliché much?'.

    My rant aside, this thing is eleven different kinds of epic fail - 1/5.

    This reminds me of that story where uber!harry wants to heal his mother and plays guitar. The one the author took down after being criticized on DLP, fater 29 chapters or thereabouts. I hope this author isn't like that. I read it for the lulz.
