Bought a new computer, the ASPIRE M1201 and looking for a keyboard and mouse good for gaming.

The catch however, is that both must be under or £50.
    And in the UK.

    Anyone willing to recommend?

When you say both under 50 is that together or just each one has to be under 50?

Roccat Kone by all accounts is supposed to be pretty good.

Logitech mx 518 isn't a bad mouse either, but a bit oldhat now.

Razer Tarantula, Steel Series 7G, Zboard Merc Stealth are all decent keyboards, if a bit pricey.

Don't buy a Razer mouse or a roccat keyboard.

About the G15, when would you have time to look down at your keyboard's LCD when you're busy trying to concentrate on CoD4 and TF2?

The LCD is worthless, it's the fuckload of fully macroable shortcut keys that make it fucking win, and the backlit keys.

I got a Logitech MX518, I'll tell you how it is in a few days. As for a keyboard, something comfortable and quiet.

The greatness lies within the player, not the keyboard, young Padawan.

I'd suggest a laptop keyboard. Something about having flat keys makes sentry building so much easier. :V

Although the ability to press multiple buttons comes in handy.

I tend to choose my keyboards for sturdiness.

Mice on the other hand are completely different. A poor mouse can make a huge amount of difference.

I have a laser mouse - no wheel - and I love it. Other than that, anything with a cord.

Dont know about the keyboard, maybe that LCD one but Razor make really good gaming mice the Diamondback is a favorite of mine. They don't look half bad either :p

Only problem they are a bit on the expensive side at 30-100 bucks.(Diamondback is 50)

But seriously, I have a logitech Internet Pro keyboard and a PC line laser mouse. They get me through Half Life and Command and Conquer well enough and the keyboard is pretty cool for multimedia (media player, play/pause, mute, volume, internet, bookmarks and email buttons) and the mouse is pretty sensitive and accurate.

Holy shit, how the fuck do you survive without a mousewheel?

But yeah, take a goddamn cord. A guy I know has a cheap cordless one which I have to work with at times. I have repeatedly and with great fervor threatened to simply destroy the mouse if he doesn't get another one.

Do you have personal experience? Razer mice are insane for fast paced FPS(Quake, Unreal Tournament, TF2 etc etc)
