ITT: we share book reviews we've read and enjoyed. For me this mostly means reading about an author I dislike getting slammed, and cackling like three witches around a pot.

^ A satirical piece of writing which sums up my thoughts on Dan Brown's skill as a writer

And Rothfuss' review on Goodreads as his response to all the pre-emptive 5-star reviews for Doors of Stone

I've been on the lookout for book review blogs lately as I've considered starting one. I'd thought about making my own thread but lo and behold I found one sort of already made.

My favorite place to read book reviews is actually Inverarity's page, who also writes the Alexandra Quick series of HP Fanfic. Fairly sure they pop by DLP every so often.

    Book Reviews M-Z

I like the length, the amount of information provided, and the humor he adds to it. I wouldn't personally mind adding in a few more spoilers - because sometimes I want the option of knowing how a book will go - but since I don't think LiveJournal has a 'spoiler tag' option I think leaving out major ones is the best choice (which he does).

The largest book blog I've found online is Book Riot. I don't particularly like their format, as there's a ton of stuff that isn't book reviews, but that's their game as a large professional blog.

For old stuff? There's always Mike Smith's Harry Potter reviews, with convenient links available on his profile page.

And I can't find it right now but I know a few people online did similar things with Twilight and 50 Shades - basically reading and reviewing each chapter separately and providing lots and lots of hilarious (and horrified) commentary. I can't remember any of those specifically and Bing sucks compared to Google, believe it.

I think someone - Silens? - on DLP started a review blog at some point. I can't remember.

But regardless I'm extremely curious to see where you all read book reviews for fun (rather than because you are looking for a specific book) or if you do. It's fun to browse and read reviews if the reviews themselves will be entertaining and I'll keep coming back for more.

So, recommendations? I'd really like recs of things more like Inverarity's site, which provides fairly standard book reviews but in an enjoyable to read format (even for books I don't care about).
