I'll add a slight caveat: "casual" sex is only casual if both parties are in a proper, err, position for it (pun intended). Harry and Karina have a few factors working against them.

In Karina's case, a single mother has no business in a casual sex relationship, basically ever.

In Harry's case, at 16/17 he probably hasn't attained the necessary maturity to avoid becoming emotionally entangled. Also, since Karina was his first he doesn't have any context to put the relationship into.

I predict that it gets messy.

I enjoy the way this story is going very much, it has it's own uniquness, and add's twists on to some old ideas as well. Harry's attitude is especially well done, as well as his ever maturing mind.

And I must admitt, isn't Harry being a furry little Kitty more exciting then a fire breathing dragon?

I do have one question though, what is up with Voldemort? Does he know Harry is gone or what? Is he taking over Britain in a stylish new way or just sitting on his ass, contemplating, "What is that little brat doing running away at a important time like this! How does he expect me to take over the world with no opposition!"

It is tough to say what Voldemort is up to. Harry sure doesn't know. He does know that the connection to Harry is broken at the moment. Severus must have reported that Harry is missing to Voldy. You will note that money is being offered for the location of Harry from Collins mentioning it in chapter 10, when he wanted a raise.

Personally, i think that's great. Harry is not in the loop anymore. Since he's away, and we're riding in his head, why should we know anything about what happens in Britain? If you ask me, and even if you don't, i think this fic pushes Ol'Moldie as an obstacle, while the enemy is Fumbledore and his stooges. Refreshing.

You're right, I overreacted. All I can offer in my defense is that I have read the entirety of A Second Chance at Life, as well as far too many American exchange student stories.

 

Ok so I just re read this all and have a few things I thought of.

That first set of ruins they encountered.

* I find it strange that ruins that have been around for at least a couple of hundred years if not longer have not already been explored and broken into. I mean if I knew there where ruins that were unexplored somewhere and I was a curse breaker I would be there as soon as I could to A) See if there is any treasure B) The challenge (Curse breakers seem to be all about the challenge) C) Cause it's there. I'm not sure if you made it clear or not if they discovered these ruins or if they were known about but not tapped.

If they were discovered it is a bit beyond belive that they discovered a whole new set of ruins all by themselves in only a few days.

If they were known then why the hell wasn't it tapped already. I mean seriously a unexplored ruin I find it hard to believe that no one has cracked it yet. Even with all the bureaucracy someone would adventually get to it legally or not. Surely the ministry would want it explored.

* Are they going to get into trouble for having ancient ruins destroyed? Imagen someone going to Egypt and knocking over a temple... people would be pissed.

* That dragon ward thing that summoned all the snakes and dragons. That really seems like something a parselmouth ie Voldy or Harry would make. Is Voldy involved in it at all.

Well thats all for now. Despite this I really love this story (Probably obvious by the fact I have read it 3 times) and it continues to be in my top 5.

 

Chapter 12

Chapter 12 is up. I hope it answers Erotic's question about the ruins. The dragon/serpent ward was created by some other wizard other than Voldemort.

A really nice chapter, nicely done in the portrayal of Harry and his relationship with Karina, also, love the fact that Bill is teaching Harry how to be a pretend arsehole to break them up if needs be.

Interesting concept with the Sapper, good scene with the trolls and I look forward to seeing the jaguar out to play.

 

I wonder why i feel this need to begin every review with a loveletter. I mean if i didn't love the fic i wouldn't stick to it, would i?
This chapter's special allure was, for me, the excellent groundwork for later. Obvious enough to tell me stuff will happen, subtle enough to keep me guessing. The fact he's a feline opens the whole pussyjoke can wide open without getting too outrageous.( No more pussyfooting, "well Fleur, since I've seen yours i guess I'll show you mine", Bill getting him a shirt saying Proud to be a Pussy, just to name some possibilities)
I would have loved to read some Peyote Poetry, too. I'm also suddenly looking more forward to the Great Breakup than the next smutty scene and that takes some doing. I'm sticking to my theory that since his kittypart is completely adult, it will accelerate his maturity and enhance his ability to focus. Harry cheering for Grindelwald cracked me up, and his encounter with Harry the Doll seems inevitable. Sending one to Luna perhaps? That parcel was probably a mistake. It puts him in a place at a time, and will provide Opposition of the Phoenix with a limited number of options. If Chico gets his hands on a Harrydoll i still believe it's likely Karina will recognize him and call in her dear friend Paolo.

The coming weeks will be hell. I'm already in withdrawal.

Thanks. I responded to a reviewer with a quick drabble. I figured I would share it with you nice folks. Here is the ill fated story of the Zambrano Markowitz Hammer.

I responded to a reviewer who was laughing about the Hammer with a drabble. Here it is for your amusement.

Couldn't you imagine some pompous quidditch star and the officials from a broom making company.

"Zambrano, we want to make a signature broom."

"It must announce my name whereever it goes."

"We'll get our charms department on it right away. They should be able come up with something."

Two months later -

"Alright Zambrano here it is."

"Magnifico! But what if someone casts a silencing charm? They will not hear my greatness shouted to the heavens."

"Okay, well send it back to R&D"

One month after that -

"Introducing the Zambrano Markowitz Hammer. The broom of champions...."

"Fantastico! Magnifico! I love it!"

"And it has been charmed not to function if someone uses a silencing spell. We've already got the first production run done."

Three months later from the newspaper -

Today Zambrano Markowitz, Bolivia's premier chaser was buried. He was killed last Thursday when his widow Fatima, inadvertently cast a silencing charm at his broom in midflight. An unfortunate side affect of the charms integrated into the broom resulted in the broom losing power in midflight.

"What kind of irresponsible buisnessmen would make a broom that could be disabled by such a simple spell? The family will be taking legal action. A simple recall of the brooms will not suffice in this case." Santos Muchirra, the Markowitz family lawyer commented.

Investigators from the Broom Travel Authority have determined that this was an accident. A distraught Fatima Markowitz was quoted in public as saying, "I didn't know it would knock him out of the sky. I just wanted the damn thing to shut up. They gave him a promotional model that would keep talking, while it was in flight! I couldn't take it anymore. It wouldn't shut up!"

The Aspire Broom Manufactuer's spokeswitch refused to comment on the Markowitz death, the complete recall, or the company's shaky financial status.

Firstly i finally got round to reading this and it is brilliant, good work jbern takes alot to beat your other story but this is much better in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

Secondly, love th whole broom thing, even more so now i have read the back story. thumbs up all the way.

Of course that would assume that Voldemort considers Harry a worthy opponent at the moment. Yes, I know it is an 'endless summer' fic. I am well aware of it. In fact, this story will end with Harry's return to England where the sequel will pick up. So if anyone is looking for a Harry/Luna romance anytime soon, I wouldn't recommend holding their breath. In roughly three chapters, the action will have caught up to chapter 1 which was September 1, 1996. Harry is obviously missing the start of his sixth year, but he really doesn't care now does he? I expect this story to go between 22-24 chapters in total so I am about at the halfway mark.

Love Potions and counters, lines like "Snape do you really want me reproducing with a weasley", running rings around dumbledore and all the while riddle is saying,"potter still alive I thought you would have died by now trying to get away from weasley"
