What the world truly needs right now are two Jberns, so both stories got updated every week. Send in the clones! Imagine what a story would be like if they CoWrote!
You gotta love Harry's priorities in this fic. As we have gotten to know him i've no doubt he won't really regret anything in this rudely interrupted scene, but he'll be angsting like crazy over his pesky little problem with the scorching blonde hottie. The problem with writing relationships is that pretty much everything has already been done. I'm looking forward to the ever-present surprise this story will deliver.

I think the development Harry is going through in this story is one of the most realistic I've seen. He is still impulsive enough to make the mistakes in an emotional situation, but now mature enough to plan an effective method of fixing his mistake. He also keeps a personality believable for his age in most situations, being outspoken about his emotions.

I know the idea has been kicked around that the Avada Kedevra alters the user in some way, like breaking the soul or corrupting and making the user addicted. Will Harry's spell choice here affect him, or is the Killing Curse, in you're story, just like any other spell?

Thanks Caitiff couldn't have said it better myself. As for the killing curse, that remains to be seen. However, Harry has already been altered by undergoing a profound transformation. He is a bit different now with the animal inside of him unleashed. Remember Thunderclouds statement that Harry is now a creature of two forms. His inner predator may be resistive to corruption from the curse.

How's that for an ambiguous answer?

As for the cloning idea, I am guessing the wife would give a big thumbs down to that one. Then she'd have 2 lazy guys farting around on the computer all the time. She'd be bound to want me to start doing more work around the house.

Key word here is "May," oooohh! OOOOH! :D

And Jim, your wife doesn't get a say in this. Fandom NEEDS two of you dammit! Sacrifices have to be made, for our sakes! :D ;)

My money is that the killing curse (and the battles in the jungle) will actually be what gives him clarity. He needs to understand that he is a killer, a predator, the ultimate survivor. This is his one moment of cosmic truth where his cat instincts and his human ones are screaming the same thing. Kill everyone who came here willingly. He was able to cast the cruciatus against the goblin, so I don't think that the other unforgivables will be too much trouble.

In my mind the Dark Arts are alot more subtle than most people think. Yes they do leave a slight taint or residue of evil, but the seductive aspect is that they are easy. If you have the choice between a stunner that will knock a guy out for a few minutes, or a spell that breaks his leg which will you use? He won't be bothering you anymore, but there's no vengance or vindication in a painless stunner when you're mad. How about the choice between a shattered pelvis and death? You obviously want him out of the way permanently, since few people walk let alone duel after having their hips broken into tiny pieces. A quick painless death (AK) or a spell that rips the skin from his bones and leaves him to bleed out on the ground? If you are angry enough to kill anyway, what method are you really going to choose?

The Dark Arts are dangerous because they give you ALOT of options. The standard "light" options of cutter, banisher, stunner, bludgeoner, reductor, and body bind are easily ignored if you are angry and have the "Dark" spells to choose from. The Dark Arts give you power, and a million ways to excersize that power over others.

you know in all honesty, compared to willingly shooting someone in the stomach with a gun the ak is pretty humane.

compared to a bone shattering curse to the skull or something which basically rips your entails out, i'd take clean death every single time.

In all honesty, in a war stunners don't quit cut it. Never mind the problem that the bad guys can enervate each other, the real problem is that 60% of a war is psychology, 20% logistic, 10% leadership and only 10% fighting.

DE vs. good guys is pretty clear cut on the psychology side. almost everyone fears them, and even those who try to fight them, have to live with the risk of death and torture every single day. On the other hand the Death Eaters face their worst opponent in their own lord, since Dumbledore is too "good" to kill them. The worst thing that happens to them in battle is being stunned and then spending 2-3 weeks in azkaban before voldie breaks them out again.

As almost every soldier can tell you, that is NO WAY to fight a war.

Which is pretty much the reason why i cheer every single fic where Harry gets a clue and starts actually HURTING the bastards who hurt him.

Long time since I saw a chapter from a fic give so much feed-back but this was one of those few times that I agree with it. That was an amazing chapter with a truly suberb cliff-hanger. Keep up the great work!

For all we know, being AKed is the worst death ever. We only know that we don't know. There isn't physicaly damaging, but, neither does crucio. And, you can't say 'just any old spell' made Bella go bonkers.

The best build-up to a fight scene I have ever seen which makes the cliff-hanger all the more frustrating.

The interesting thing is that you now have two fight scenes in two stories that are relatively similar: Snape & two death eaters(imperiod order members) vs. harry and portraits and Paulo, Amanda and what's his face vs. Harry and possibly Nina and the father if they are freed from the imperious. I am really looking forward to seeing how this scenes will develop.

On the other hand I am also looking forward to seeing the reaction of the father after the battle(if he survives....I don't know why I have a feeling that the only ones that will remain standing after the battle will be Karina, Chico and Harry). He may want to cover it all up by killing Harry as this would be a sign of weakness or whatever...

    Anyhow....update soon.....

Aw man jbern. Bungle is my most anticipated story right now!

Seriously, you write amazing battle scenes that leave no room for the imagination to wander. And its weird, because with the way you write the story, I actually feel a vague sense of accomplishment after each of Harry's triumphs.

The interaction between Luna and Harry is exactly the same dramatic and flirtatious emotions you would find in any teenage relationship. I would know, I was a master of it in high school.

    I can't wait for 16...and 17 and so on.

Once he broke the Imperius, why didn't Harry follow along and Reducto Nina?
I thought he was planning on killing her in any case, and that would remove an unfriendly wand from the fray once he struck out against everyone else, no?
I'm dying for an update here!
    Great story!

If he Reducto-ed her, whats his face -- the 'godfather's father, would jump in front of her, and he would die three seconds later. Not a good plan.

I actually had a dream where I was reading the next chapter of Bungle (unfortunately I don't remember how it went). I was very sad to see that this topic had been bumped due to conversation about the fic, rather than the next update.

For some reason, I have this vision of Harry going all Tony Montana in the next scene ("You think you can take me? You need a fucking dark lord if you want to take me!")...

    Next Chapter is Up!

Wait no longer. The next chapter is up. Oddly enough I have a good chunk of 17 written now too. The reason is this chapter was going on too long and some of the stuff towards the end could use more explaining. So, I decided to cut it at a good stopping point and move the rest to the next chapter where I can expand it without making it a 20K chapter.

I hope you all will be pleased and I hope you have a good holiday season.

    Heh, heh, what a summary...

    MORE NAKED VEELA!

Is that all some people are reading this for?

Anyway, the letters from Luna towards the end were a bit slower than the rest of the chapter, but just as welcome. Murderous rampages aren't really my cup of tea, so I was thankful that Harry didn't become the killing machine I've seen a little too often.

Is this the end of Karina? And will Harry be making a visit back to South Dakota?

And a Happy Chrimbo to you and yours, too.
