The Gantz Challenge
I propose this challenge to all writers.... However, if you undertake this, you need to do some research. The cross over is with the MANGA Gantz. Yes, the Manga, not the Anime (which, up until the 4th mission is true to the manga). To research, goto stoptazmo do com and start dl'ing. This is a free site with all the chapters archived. I honestly think this would be up DLP's alley, and have yet to see anything like this on any of the sites that i frequent.

A summery of the world: Well, you are dead. How you died is irrelivent, what matters most is that you are dead. But what's this? why are you in a room with a large black ball that starts singing crappy exercise music? People start appearing like they are made with a laser, one piece at a time, and now there's writing on the Ball! You now must go kill aliens? Three words come to mind. What the......

-Rules:
1: Harry is the main character.
2: Must take place after the first series. (do the research, IE Read the manga)
3: Harry is a "contestant" for Gantz
4: Must take place during 6th or 7th year.
5: Voldemort may or may not be involved.
6: What is a Horcrux? What are the Deathly Hollows? I Don't know nor care, just don't Include them.

 

This challenge is bad and you should feel bad.

Bad challenge is bad, next time you think of something....Just let it go.

 

Apparently this challenge is claimed to be bad, but no reasons are given, thus leading me to the conclusion that you know nothing of what the world of Gantz is. Just the brief description of the world I gave really doesn't do it justice, you need to read the manga to actually get it. That or watch some of the Anime. I'll recind the challenge if anyone can give me a good reason, but until then, leave pointless "this challenge sucks" comments to yerself.

 

Why is this bad?

First of all, your telling us to read the manga which is pretty annoying!

Second, Gantz sounds stupid! It sounds great for a person who wants to improve his skills in showing a fighting sceane. Other then that, it's stupid.

Third of all, what's the point? To put Harry in a place where he has to constantly fight and fight. This can be achieved in a much better way. Shezza has already done that.

 

Yer right, it does sound stupid, but, like i said, the description i gave doesn't do it justice. There's alot more to the world than just fighting.

And, as for reading the manga, you don't have to, it would be nice, as you get a much better view of the world, but there are English, uncut versions of the anime.

When i first saw the DVD of the anime, I also thought it was the stupidest thing I had read, and put off watching for months. It was like back when I first started to read Harry Potter. I thought the concept was childish, and was only for children. Then I read the books. Lesson learned.

 

Fuck Gantz. Omanga scanlated Gantz. It sucked. Omanga did better mangas. Sky High for example.

Sky High was fucking epic.

PsychoMetrer Eiji is waaaay above and beyond Gantz's league.

Hell, if you want to something like Gantz, read Berserk. Its better.

The fact of the matter is, Crossovers suck unless the worlds are compatible. Like Dresden and Potter, or similar comparisons that my stoned mind cant come up with.

 

I like LOTR/HP personally, but I have never read Anime/Manga, but if they're anything like pokemon (go me) then they would suck as a crossover.

 

There is a pretty good variety out there. Pokemon is more of a cartoon and less of an anime/manga...thing.

 

Universe compatibility isn't even close to the biggest issue.

 

What would you recommend as a first Anime?

 

I have read Gantz. I still maintain that it's a shit idea.

I guarantee you that after watching EoE you will be wondering what the fuck has just happened.

EVA is a total mind fuck, but it is one of those animes, that is considered a classic and should be watched, even if you don't like it.

This argument works because Shinji is a goddamn pussy. I also recommend Welcome to the NHK. I recommend Yu Yu Hakusho or Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor as a first anime.

 

Go for Naruto first. You'll be so disappointed everything else will seem like gold compared to it .
