Agreed. That Drug Lord fellow was quite interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned into this series' Marcone. They should definitely bring him back in some aspect.

Thoughts:

Kate Beckett is both :awesome and attractive. Very good acting from her actress.

Nathan Fillion is as :awesome as usual. Died during the Halloween episode.

Molly Quinn (Alexis Castle) Would do that. Hard. :awesome As she's only 11 months younger, I feel no ickiness.

Series in general: :awesome

Holy crap, that last episode was insane. I had no idea it was a 2-parter when we started.

I bet the card the Syrian security guy gave Castle is how they get out.

On the other hand, a couple of the establishing shots seemed a bit long in this one, as if they were trying to pad for length. Either that or the sound was cut weirdly - something was off.

 

My problem with it was

why the hell did Beckett have a geiger counter in the first place? As far as I know, she's NEVER worn one before...why the fuck would she be wearing one now?

I'm sure it'll be 'revealed' in the next part, but it really pissed me off at that point in time. There better be a damn good fucking reason.

 

It can't be something as simple as maybe most cops were one nowadays in case they stumble across something? And Castle just never commented on it? I'm not saying that cops actually do, just that it could be an explanation. It didn't seem to irritate me near as much as you guys did.

The only part that bothered me was them running into that stupid walk in freezer. What the hell did they think was gonna happen? That the criminals would just wait outside for awhile?

 

Why would they? Is the threat of nuclear terrorism THAT ridiculously high that cops are wearing them? I can suspend my disbelief pretty well, but not that well...

Or come in after them, lawl. Yeah, that was pretty stupid too.

 

I think besides the freezer thing one of the few things that irritated me was Beckett wearing heels to where the bomb was, they're going after armed terrorists in possession of a nuclear bomb and she's wearing heels that click so loud every time she walks that she might as well have just honked the horn and knocked on the front door.

I loved the episode but the part where they found the actual bomb had so many painfully dumb fuck ups in it that it was hard to enjoy it.

I think it makes a whole shit load of sense that they'd keep one on them when they realized the guy used to work on nuclear bombs.

No, she doesn't always wear one, but it was discovered that there was a chance of a bomb prior in there investigation. Not wearing one would be kind of stupid.

 

I love this show to death but how they ended up surviving was so bad I couldn't suspend my disbelief.

 

But it was so Castle, if you get what I mean.

I love this show I really do but sometimes it just gets stupid, there was a lot of great stuff in tonights episode but there were an awful lot of bad things as well. I mean first, Kate firing multiple rounds in the container, that was just criminally stupid to the point it hurt to watch. She's so lucky it borders on supernatural that one of the ricochets didn't kill one or both of them. Then the rescue, I'm not a doctor but I'm fairly sure that when you get so cold your body just shuts down and your fluids are icing up its a lot worse than a mild case of hypothermia and they're certainly going to be in worse shape than "slightly sluggish." Then FBI guy cracking and pulling his gun on the soldier, I mean seriously how that could possibly help anything? The soldier knew good and damned well they weren't going to kill him so all it accomplished was make them look weak and desperate and kill any small fragment of leverage they might have had. Then Kates sudden outburst of morals over it, "You violated his rights." Seriously Kate? Seriously? He's a trained killer whose about murder piles of men, woman and children in a horrific fashion, your on an ever shortening window of time and you want to whine about the nutjob's rights? Next, when they got the other two soldiers, after all the fuss they made about how these are trained spec ops who will never break they just roll over at a simple lie in thirty seconds like frightened teenagers? Both of them should have been laughing in FBI guys face. Last the actual bomb, your seriously telling me the trained Special Forces Operators made a bomb so damned cheap that it can be completely defused by just grabbing handfuls of wire and yanking? Come on now that's just freaking stupid.

To sum it up, I love Castle but its just painful sometimes.

The latest episode blew my mind.

 

I saw the third cop thing coming tbh.

However, the fucking cliff hanger is just the gayest thing in the world, I mean, wtf.

Overall, loved the episode though. It'll be interesting to see what happens next season. I mean, some things are obvious, but still...

 

Also some comic book guru's are making Castle's fictional character, Derick(sp?) Storm, come alive for Marvel.

 

I wish Castle would have gotten shot. Obviously he would survive, but Castle is way more willing to admit his feelings for Beckett. The SheCop needs to be pushed alittle more to finally say what we all know is happening in her head. And a bullet filled Ricky would be a good start.

And I did see the Third Cop coming. However, Roy going out like that much of a badass- fantastic. Dudes got skillz.

And now the core four is all that much stronger. Damn good fight between Esposito and Ryan, not to mention the little powwow they had before the funeral. "No one outside this immediate family needs to know..."

Lastly Stana Katic is my new official star crush. I could use more episodes where she is impersonating Russian girlfriends on poker night... I want that poster on my wall.

 

There's a fourth season confirmed, right?

 

Yes, Castle was renewed and is coming back.

As for the season finale? Spoiler tags seem kind of a waste with some of the above statements but still. The 3rd cop at first kinda bugged me but then it was explained so well and the way he redeemed himself and explained his motives for the past twenty years or whatever... ended up pretty damn awesome.

The shooting and declaration at the end though, not so awesome. It's not like anyone thinks there's a chance it was a kill shot. That, and all the best cutesy crime-fighting partnerships are their most likable with UST, flirting, and banter.... an actual relationship between them typically ruins it. (Are you listening Castle and Bones? Learn from X-files and Moonlighting.)

I'm also hoping next season's start will finally wrap up the Beckett's mother's murder plotline. But yah.... still one of the shows I most look forward to. Castle rules, Alexis is cool, Beckett's somehow getting hotter and Ryan and Esposito are buckets of awesome.

 

That fight scene with Montgomery was pretty gay. The whole 'castle take her away' while I fight off those bad guys coming from the distance standing in the middle here alone. Would've worked with swords, not with guns. And Kate just going back in based on the fact that gunshots were done with? Did she just assume the bad guys were dead? That whole scene was just completely unrealistic, beyond what I had expected even from castle.

Besides that, it was mostly a good episode where they finally tied together the plot that I had completely forgotten about for the most part. Touchy feely moment at the end was alright but not on the level of when they almost froze to death. Castle doesn't really pull off the serious stuff well. Kate actually dying would've made me happy but with the other character death, there's no chance that will happen. That's what TV shows need to do more nowadays, take shocking turns like that.
