Ah! My Goddess/Harry Potter.

Post AMG! Her only child,Urd won't speak to her because she doesn't want to become a Goddess charmed by Demons. The Great Demon Leader of Hell, Hild wants a baby. Since every demon in Niflheim (Hell) would just use her as a way to get close to her position and she won't touch Asgard (Heaven) for obvious reasons. Hild decides to peak into Earth. There she encounters Harry after his fifth year when he wishes to sell his soul bring back his Godfather.

Rules:
Harry slowly gets demonic attributes, (e.g the Sigil on his forehead and cheeks, the claws ect)
Hild is manipulative, conniving and untrustworthy.
Hild can only be at most 20% while on earth.
Harry, has to grow a back bone.
No bashing.

 

This story will suck. Why? Because it is crossover between Harry Potter and anime. And there are no good crossover between any kind of literature and anime stuff.
The challenge doesn't offer anything new. It is typical post!OotP, Harry-gets-backbone, kind of story.

There are mistakes in that sentance, but because English isn't my native language I will not point them.

It remainds me of all that creature!Harry kind of fics writen by fangirls. You know - vampire, demon, etc. It's old.

20% of what? Her powers? Or maybe 20% of her body? Well, it would look pretty funny - flying and talking head of Mistress of Hell.

You're kidding, right? I always thought that demons where nice and fluffy (I love that word - it sounds funny ).

 

This isn't the kind of site where you can just post something ... like this and think no one is going to answer appropriately. If it's a dull Challenge, you are going to be told so, bash or no bash.

I have to agree on the fact that anime/lit crossovers never tend to work out, but besides that this challenge has no substance. What's the main idea, the hook that makes this challenge different from the millions of stories just like it out on the web? You might think that your crossover makes it different, but the only thing that is changing is the way that he gets his powers. The plot of the story is how he uses them to solve a conflict. As of now, their is none of that.

I must say, I think you are a fan girl who came on this site thinking that she'd find slash and lots of shit babies. That's not going to happen. If not, you just need to lurk more and figure out how this site is run before you post senseless shit with senseless warnings for people 'not to bash'.

 

Actually, I've seen a few surprisingly good AMG/OMG crossover fics. Possibly because the crossover mechanism is built right in - pick up the phone and misdial your very own literal deus ex machina!

Franki, putting all anime into the category of crossover suckage is just showing your ignorance. Poke'mon and Sailor Moon are quite a distance from the likes of Black Lagoon and Bible Black.

I'd recommend against the baby thing. Hild is a demon, the corruption of mortals is what she does. She doesn't need such a contrived reason to take an interest in the only mortal to survive a Killing Curse.

Apart from that... well, I'm interested in any fics resulting from this challenge.

 

She may have meant no bashing within the story. You know, like how some stories will say in the summaries, "Dumbledore bashing, Hermione bashing, Ron bashing" etc. For a perfect example, see all of Harry's rants in Volorn's Scorpian Sorcerer.

If this is the case, then I'm in agreement. Bashing is unprofessional and annoying.

But it doesn't change the fact that the challenge sucks.

 

Sorry, but this challenge has several problems:

- That characterization of Hild is the same as the manga.
- Why would Hild only be 20%? Better than you make that a part of the challenge - the author should have to figure it out.
- How would demonic attributes make a difference? Think about it, figure out the specific "this is what is different" parts.
- A back bone? That's quite a bit cliched. Quite a HUGE bit cliched.
- Be specific - what is about your challenge that presents both: a) an interesting unique perspective, and b) something actually challenging.

Look things over, try again. But don't just post randomly. A great challenge idea is to be admired, and may lead to a fantastic story. That's what we want.

Besides all the problems stated above, Ah My Godness! itself sounds gaudy, something that someone would say, or rather bellow, during sexual intercourse. I don't see any author talented enough to make such a crossover work voluntarily spending their time on this.

 

Ah! My Goddess corss-over... are you kidding me? It could be done, I guess, but still...

AMG doesn't mesh well with Harry Potter. In fact, almost all anime's don't mesh with HP. A few ideas here and there do, and can work, but cross overs? Entire universes touching?

I've seen an awesome FMA/HP cross. I've also (amazingly) seen an awesome Naruto/HP cross (I still can't believe one of them was actually good, if I find it again I'll link somewhere...it's abandoned I believe). They were rare examples of anime crossover work.

Japanese culture and Japanese anime just doesn't usually mesh well with the Harry Potter universe.
