Updated. This chapter is short, but is VERY GOOD.

For what it is, and how it shows DUmbledore's reaction to Harry's betrayal, it may be perfect.

Not feelin' the last chapter. Mostly because Dumbledore and the others seemed much more narrow minded and didn't even entertain the idea that Harry had some goals other then pointless bloodshed. Although, it was a good idea to show the sorta "fall from grace" of the Order

Bra-fuckin-ravo Sera, dispite the shortness it was worth the wait. I thouroughly enjoyed most if not all of it. Purhaps you can keep churning out quality like this at a faster pace?

Your or someone has already submitted a review to this story/chapter in question from this computer.

That's from ff.net. Dunno what the hell is wrong with that place. Anyway, great chapter!

It wasn't as long as i expected it to be but it was really nice. Showing Dumbles and the Order's fall is infinitely more interesting from D's point of view.

I don't think Dumbledore's that stupid to just assume that Harry was turning Dark just for the sake of killing. After all, he was the greatest wizard alive bar voldemort and before harry gained his heritage. My own reasoning tells me that he constantly mixes up Voldemort and Harry's Hogwarts days...

It seems that shacklebolt and tonks value their jobs more than the Order and the wizarding world. That's my only peeve in this chapter.

At this point, I'm gonna be a complete fanboy and tell you "great chapter! Hope you update soon!"

    Hah. I tried to a review a story I had never seen before and it told me I had already reviewed that chapter... o_O;

    That was weird.

I got your ff.net review in my inbox, so it did apparently post. Thanks.

For all their regrets, Tonks and Kingsley realized that the Order was finished. Fudge was going to break the group up whether or not the two cooperated. It's because they care about protecting the wizarding world that they did what they had to do. It hurts them that the Order is gone, but at least this way they can keep doing their part in the war as Aurors.

Harry is a mean mean man, but why did i love it! personally i wouldve loved the idea of alastor and albus just saying fuck it and going ape on the ministry and then going off in seclusion or perhaps just obliviating the lot of them and planting false images in Fudges head to make him go against harry.. i loved the chapter nonetheless and it didnt even have violence

Doyou actually plan on having Dumbledor and Harry fight it out in the end or will they reconcile and Dumbles will jump in harrys boat?

Just my impression, but i think they are beyond the point of reconciliation. ALso, Dumbledore couldn't have fought off everybody with hmself and just Alastor especially with the fight so recent. Dumbledore did the right thing.
    Fighting would have been suicide.

Liked the chapter, especially liked when Fudge strolled in, hated the sappy/reflecting dumbledore though.

That thought seems to explain the chapter pretty well. Pretty good chapter and hit quite a few points for such a short chapter. I liked the Dumbledore point of view, which kind of makes you pity the old man...if you have pity to give.

I certainly pitied him, and, lets face it, AT THIS POINT he is a pitiful character. He has just seen all of his hopes for the future CRUSHED in the span of 24 hours. He has lost friends and now his surrogate Grandson.

I don't blame him, for feeling reflective and regretful.

    I'll say it again. Perfect.

There is one flaw, WHY WOULD FUDGE LET TONKS AND KINGSLEY ESCORT ALBUS?!

Even without his wand, Albus's charm and persuasiveness pose a VERY legitimate threat. Plus, those two are loyal to Albus and sympathetic to his cause.

I would have had at least two other people escort them. Let Kingsley and Tonks disperse the Order if they have to do something.

The actual reason is that I wrote the chapter's end at midnight when I was extremely tired and only thinking about bed. The story reason is that Fudge is somewhat stupid without other people holding his hand, and in his arrogance thought it funny to have Albus hauled in by his own trusted subordinates. But seriously, Dumbledore had given his word that he would be taken in quietly, and knew that the other Order members would face the consequences should he break that promise. He had essentially bartered his own freedom in order to protect his comrades. Fudge would have been only too happy to make fugitives of every Order member present if Albus had fled. Regardless, Dumbledore would never have placed Tonks and Kingsley in jeopardy in order to save himself. He's too noble and self-sacrificing to do so, and Scrimgeour realizes this (explaining why he didn't try to gainsay Cornelius). Rufus also allowed them to have this last task to make absolutely sure that Tonks and Shacklebolt were in fact loyal to the Ministry. Had Albus escaped, both Aurors would have lost more than their jobs. A bit of a gaffe on my part, but one that easily works out with some insight.

Nice chapter. Even though I usually don't like weak and goody-good Dumbledore, you write him too good to pass up. Hope we see the next one more quickly...

Well, with Dumbledore...I do need SOMEBODY to be the good guy in all this, because Harry certainly isn't fitting the role. Weak...yeah, this was a low point for Albus, but he's had his high points as well (like showing up in grand fashion at Hogsmeade). I just can't wrap myself around Dumbledore as a villain, never have been able to. I will admit him to be the saintly sort...uber-compassionate, driven by emotions and virtually unable to hate. He will have at least one more shining moment before then end.

Yeah, like I said, Dumbledore can either be manipulative/gray or extremely naive and good. I find the first option more logical, but the second one works for me too if it's written well (like here).

I just hope you have Harry make peace with Dumbledore in the end. Maybe, in three-way duel between Dumbledore, Harry and Riddle, Dumbledore sees that there's still light in Harry and sacrifices his life to help him out. On his death bed they make peace... Yeah, that sounds about right for the finale...

LMAO...Riddle doesn't get to be the final enemy. He kicks Harry around for a while and then Zharrghast takes over completely and transforms Harry into a new and horrifying creature to fight against Voldemort. Harry/Zharrghast in their newfound full devil form will pretty much rip Tom a new asshole and kill him with almost no effort. Where things go from that point had yet to be decided, but Albus will play a role and will have a glorious end worthy of his character...the way that Rowling should have done it. Of course, that's assuming that my plans don't change between now and then.

    I still prefer Red Prince.

This is quite good, it just makes less sense in terms of what I believe possible given the characters starting point. Red Prince you got to make your own start for Harry, so its a more believable and logical character arc. I also don't tend to like Supernatural stuff (although you've downplayed that very well).

Anyway, update SOON (either one!)

First off, yay for a new chapter!!!! I really like this story, Serapheth, Chuck is absolutely right when he says you have got a great balance between Supernatural!Demon!Harry and Regularalbeitalittlebloodthirstyandhorny!Harry, and not having him as this invinceable menace on the battlefield. I also like him taking over subtly, at least at first, through the Lucius Malfoy role; almost nothing (I almost said nothing, but Harry/Ginny fluff came into my mind) pisses me off quite so much as a God!Harry fic along the lines of "Standing on a hill overlooking the battlefield, Harry concentrated real hard and snapped his fingers. Instantly, all the Death Eaters/Ministry forces/Hinkypunks/whatever the fuck else he might be fighting fell down, instantly dead. Harry went on to waltz into the Ministers Office, which opened for him, recognizing who was truly supposed to be there, where Harry had a long-drawn out duel with Cornelius Fudge (WTF?!?!) and Lucius Malfoy and Harry won and became Minister and everyone lived happily ever after." So kudos for taking a different track to Harry's power over the world.

Please, please, please tell me this end involves death and no one being redeemed. Please? I completely agree with you on Dumbledores character, and him playing the part of untouchably lightsided good guy, but having the good guys win in such a dark fic would be most... unsatisfying.

I think Rowling handled it okay myself, mainly because I have no doubt in my mind that Dumbles and Snape prearranged to sacrafice Albus if need be to secure Snapes position, so Snape can help discover the last horcrux from the inside. Not many things are more noble or 'Dumbledore-ish' than self sacrifice. IMO.
