Plus, Kara's a hot chick that Harry has a chance in having sex with upsidedown and a thousand feet in the air with no broom. :awesome

There are popular semi-popular Britain based groups as well, like Excalibur. Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat of X-men fame) is one notable that is hot and can be used while she was based there. She's not British, but if you're looking for a more realistic and popular hero to hook up with and have Harry stay in his homeland... well, there you go.

Then you have Wonder Woman and her Furies that took over England during the Flashpoint plotline. Tons of opportunities there with lots of different and popular heroes. I kinda like to see a Huntress/Harry story.

I'm just tired of Harry getting buttsexed by Wolverine.

Well, duh. :) But there's also the issues she has as a character - I feel a story with a Harry that has the same sort of view on life, mostly due to the unfair expectations and fame placed upon him, would go well with Kara.

I had some vague idea that Kara, after meeting a kindred sort of spirit in Harry and wanting go her own way/forge her own path (and not be known as 'Superman's Cousin' - or just 'his' name with 'girl' tacked on), would form a 'dark' sort of duo with Harry - sort of like Hawk and Dove, 'cept not as lame.

For codenames, I was thinking "Thestral" for Harry, due to his magic and the whole 'Thestral as a symbol of Death' sort of thing, with him being in the shadows, and "Phoenix" for Kara, due to whole sun/superpower thing and her history, and the phoenix being a rough counterpart to a thestral in symbolism.

In DC's comics (well, at least the recent, pre-52 relaunch), Kara had the top of her shoulderblades and neck inked with a Kryptonian firebird-like design - I was thinking about this for the two of them.

Harry's ink would be a 'tribal'/stylized thestral in jet black and charcoal-like tones, with the contours and style resembling that of jagged, rough-edged Celtic art.

Kara's ink would be a smooth, ornate-style phoenix in tones of outlining red and filling gold. The edges would be smooth and neat, representing known Kryptonian art.

They would both be different, but each be one half of the same pair.

    ...

Huh, if I can figure out how to execute the concept without it being lame, could be good for one-shots.

That was when Diana was mind-controlled by DarkSeid, right?

When he goes recruiting, is it always women for his Furies? Or has he tried to recruit blokes as well?

An interesting twist on the whole Superman/Batman: Apocalypse thing could be DarkSeid, seeing more potential in Harry and the Anti-Life that could come with his magic (the Imperius, for example), taking him instead of Kara, with her becoming a rescuer and not a "rescuee".

Isn't everybody? I see these fairly disgusting and shitty slash stories (disgusting because they're nothing more than mindless slash, and shitty because that literally makes up most of the primary plot), and all I want to do is somehow reach through the Internet and strangle these fuckers with their own mouse and keyboard.

Also, when you mean Huntress, do you mean the alternate Bruce/Selena daughter or the Italian mob-daughter?

EDIT: since this thread has gone beyond a simple story-search and has evolved into a type of sub-community, maybe this should be spun off into its own topic?

"Harry Potter and Comic Book Crossovers" or "Harry Potter and DC (and Other) Crossovers", or something?

There's the rub. You'd have to steer clear of the Tonkesque "Nobody loves me for me" speeches. Lots of landmines to be had.

No. During Flashpoint, the timeline got screwed up and reality changed. Diana and Aquaman were engaged to be married. Someone killed Diana's mother and war broke out between the two nations (Themyscira and Atlantis) The Atlantians caused Paradise island to sink into the sea so the Amazons invaded England and took it over by force.

A lot of superheroes defected to one side or the other. The Furies were a bunch of metas that joined up with Diana.

Different Furies, but as far as I know they were all women.[/quote]

Either would be fine with me. The Bruce/Selena Huntress was a meta and the other one wasn't. I just always enjoyed her character.

Heather Sinclair approves of this message. I'd love a place just to talk about comics other than Comicvine, since I'm apparently too much of a geek and don't have any friends in real life that can appreciate my comic book geekiness. They always look at me like I'm weird. Kind of like when I talk about Harry Potter. Fuckers have no appreciation of fan fiction.

How about two threads? One discussing comics over in Books and another discussing crossovers here in HP Fanfiction.

Not much of a comic reader myself aside from Spider-Man and Nightwing but I think a comic thread wouldn't be bad thing.

Right He may be the best he is at what he does, bub, but that doesn't include Harry's chocolate factory. :facepalm

Now, Harry/X-23 might be a possibility... preferably in a reality where she doesn't end up getting pimped to masochists by a guy named Zebra Daddy. :(

I could see them sympathizing with each other.

    1. Harry feels like he was forced to be a fighter by prophecy, and was treated like a weapon by Dumbledore, while she was literally created to be a weapon.
    2. Harry, for all intents and purposes, had no real parents because he was so young when they were killed so that Voldemort could get to him. Laura basically had no real parents, and was used to kill the woman who acted as her surrogate.
    3. Fanfiction being what it is, and there being so many people writing it for Harry Potter, odds are unfortunately pretty good that both Laura and Harry have probably had a pimp named Zebra Daddy.

This is partly in jest, seeing as I know very little of X-23. I stopped buying comics well before she was first introduced.

This is an awesome thread. If you do spawn another thread I hope it doesn't lose it's charm.
