I've just been salvaging all the crappy magic items. If I can't sell them on the AH for at least 3000, I just break 'em down.

Hell, it takes me just one day to get another 100 stack.

I could, if I wanted to fork out the money to bother getting one of the new gen of phones, I'm quite happy with my out-dated Nokia on £10 a month versus forking out £25+ for a smartphone or whatever variation we're on these days, I'm home tomorrow so not too worried.

As for the commodities, I'm not too sure, last time I checked all of them were relatively cheap (Inferno mats 80 - 150 gold each) but that was probably a fortnight ago now and I haven;t checked since, mostly because I just vendor everything I don't keep to auction lately.

What kind of server are you playing on B? NA Servers have inferno mats going for 2k Essence and 800 Tear a pop.

Tears are 400-ish on EU, with Essences at a little under 2k.

Um. I could see what they were thinking with the whole always online thing, but...what the fuck? They're denying people the product they purchased for up to three days if they chose to purchase it digitally. This is complete bullshit.

I guess they figure that's where all the bots came from. Still, doesn't make it right and I don't even know what to think about Blizzard anymore these days.

As for the prices, hmm, guess I'll have to sit down, do the maths & work out how much I make from a full Halls of Agony > Butcher clear before and after salvaging, from memory I'm sat on 90 tears and just under 200 essence with 2 of the Legendary things...

Actually, it's restricted until payment is verified. Just 72 hours is their long estimate.

You can have the full version inside 24 hours.

Also, I fucking love cluster bombs. 4-shot Butcher? Yes please.

That makes me feel bad for spending money on Diablo. It is that impressive.

They are on a crusade to weed out everything they think is exploiting or hacking without any thought to the repercussions.

It's kind of sad really. I haven't really played Diablo at all recently. Logged on once since patch, but that was it.

It really isn't that fun once you get to inferno. I was hoping the V1.03 patch would help, but it mostly aimed at removing even more "exploits" and not really adding anything into the game.

6 skills + cooldowns means that the combat just isn't as fast as it should be. You have maybe 1 or 2 skills that aren't on "Rotations." It's an attempt at an action RPG version of WoW combat and it fails.

I just imagine playing a sorceress in D2 without being able to spam teleport, and I realize that's what we have in D3. A really boring class that runs around instead of fighting.

I never played D2 past the leveling phase, because end game in D2 always sucked for me(I didn't even MF). But it made up for it in my constant rerolls of builds.

I have low standards for games or you are all snobs :p
    or maybe both

I find the grind fun, and I enjoy it. Since they nerfed act 3/4 drop rates, buffed act 1/2 drop rates, and made it so elites are guaranteed to drop one rare, I've started ignoring ponies and act 3 altogether for doing act 1 instead.

A full run is about an hour and a half. I go festering woods (reveal the entire map) to cemetery of the forsaken (check all 3 crypts) to cathedral level 3 (normally a rare right by the waypoint) to fields of misery (find scavengers den and at least 1 elite outside, place is too big to explore entire map) to leoric's manor (guaranteed in manor and near-guaranteed in courtyard) out to hunting grounds (explore map) to northern highlands (explore map) back to leorics manor and into the halls of misery for a full clear including warden and butcher.

A run gets me ~60 rares on average. I do count them because I stash all the rares till the end for one glorious ID fest.

I was experimenting with dual wielding hand crossbows and 970/920 with 140% crit damage from dual 70% gems was a 15k dps loss from 1120 2hander with 70% crit. Going to need to get dual dex+open socket+base crit damage to make it worth it.

The 15% IAS from dual wielding and 10% crit from archery is nearly cancelled out entirely by my 8.5% crit quiver, and even at 43% crit, the extra crit damage just couldn't make up for the damage from 2hander+15% damage archery passive.

Either way, I somehow managed to put all 3 of my weapons on the AH, so for these butcher runs I was running with some 100k weapon I bought and my DPS was only at 40k instead of 70k. I'll probably do a 0-hatred build to use 15% constant movespeed a long with vault/tumble to make the run faster when I have one of my weapons back.

It's more of the fact that I am now completely pigeonholed into farming act 1 that's annoying me. Can't do any shit later than that without getting destroyed and I'm sitting at 36k DPS without SS and 28k HP using SP Gloom for damage redux.

That's not counting the ninja nerf to act 3-4 loot.

I dunno I was completely stomping through act 1 with only 40k DPS tonight and for the last run I was using this stupid as shit build:
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#afgVYd!XYe!YbYabY

And still blowing through it with ease. Yes, there is no hatred spender there and the only aoe is evasive fire and caltrops.

Seems like with a real spec you could do act 2 with little difficulty.

The problem is that Act 2 isn't worth it unless you're a tanky Melee who doesn't get wrecked by invis-o-vipers.

Act 3 was worth it, but now that they've wrecked Nether Tentacles and IAS, the gear threshold for DHs to reliably farm it is much higher.

I'm not a snob, I just don't enjoy games that I have to farm or grind when I don't enjoy the gameplay, and the gameplay in D3 isn't as good as D2.

It's mostly why I don't last long in any MMORPG, because there always comes a time when you have to "Farm" for gold or items, and it's just repetitive and boring. They took WoW ideals of leveling through the game once and then spending years at end game doing the same thing repeatedly to get gear.

    It's just not for me.

I still spent 200 hours on the game, so it was by far worth the 60 bucks I spent on it. I just thought it would have a longer replay value. I still find the people who spent 250 hours+ playing the game for a month and then asking for a refund beyond pathetic.

Considering how most of that 200 hours is "replay" anyways, it's pretty amazing you expected there to be more replay value than that.

Seriously, 200 hours is an absolute shitload of time to spend on a single game.

Not when you take into account the hours spent on D1 and D2. It's not a shit game, it just isn't going to reach the level of love I have for the various "single player games" that I continue to play years after their release.

The game would have to change a lot for me to start playing regularly again.

200 hours was going through the game on all 5 classes at a pretty slow pace, and truth be told, normal and nightmare was beyond boring. I didn't even get through Hell on the classes before I ran out of steam. Most of the game play was me trying to achieve something, rather than me enjoying the experience.

I expect a lot of replay value in the games that I buy. I rarely buy games that I'm just going to play through once for 12 hours and then not pick it up again. No matter how great the story is.

Well, finally got home, money's in my Paypal account, all linked up with battle.net account, SMS security, the whole 9 yards and still the RMAH says I'm broke, wonderful.

Not sure how that works out but whatever I guess, back to farming for a living and working out a new build.

Edit - Nevermind, figured out the Paypal fiasco.

Added Southern Highlands (highland passage waypoint) and got the watchtower to spawn in northern highlands. Run took 1:45, made 112 rares. The run had like 8 chests and 9 gobs, but then again I did clear the entire act.
Seems like every goblin drops 3 or more rares. Some elites dropped 5 rares, with plenty dropping 3/4 and very few dropping only 2 or 1.

Only died like 4 times, 3 times to standing in desecrate or next to a molten death bomb after I killed the pack because I was focused on looting, and once because I had to charge into molten/arcane enchanted to keep a goblin from getting away (don't worry I killed it).

Act 1 farming is easy and pretty efficient. No good drops this run but the potential is definitely there because I had around 20 ilvl 62/63 drops.

Nothing too amazing in 3 full Act 1 runs thus far, couple of 1k dps items but poorly itemized & the minimum on the AH seems to be 1100+ now, so, bad luck thus far. Spent the better part of 4m today on improving my gear, switching out of glass cannon into more vital & resist all. Speaking of Resists, what's the recommended amount before heading into Act 2 for semi-farm? Or would I be better off just diving into Act 3 instead?

Having trouble thinking of farm spots in either to be fair but, can't really stick around in Act 1 forever, might just switch to Whimseyshire but I've got a long way to go DPS wise before I consider that as a serious option.
