    And more than half of those are in the Recycling Bin - i.e. they were judged to be "barely" readable.

    Though that's not always a reliable metric - the Recycling Bin contains some well regarded stories that lose DLP points due to having something not to its tastes (like an abnormal amount of Ginny or the like). Also, some of the library stories from years back might not have been worthy of approval today.

    It's not that surprising...it's really easy to upload a short story that's really crappy. >100k of those have less than 1000 words.

    You want depressing? Imagine a comprehensive Naruto/Code Geass/FMA/Bleach version of DLP.

    Then compare those numbers. Now that's depressing.

    Stats about the site:
    - Their largest section is Drama/Angst No surprise
    - They actually have a HP/RW/HG/SS story ...lolwut? Wai- They're serious?
    - Their slash tag takes holds the third or fourth largest section Not surprised, going by the other tags they have
    - They actually have a HP/RW/HG/SS story HOLY FLAMING SHIT THEY ARE SERIOUS. W.T.FUCK.

    @OP, I like this thread. It's interesting to see where the "quality" fanfiction intersects for the two sites. Would be even more interesting to cross-reference with other "Best of HP FF" sites.

    If nothing else maybe these sites have excluded most of the truly terrible crap.

    The "Know It Alls" do say though that "...we have our own preferences that draw us to certain kinds of stories." So I guess that's fair.

    I was greatly amused that Vash misspelled retarded in this.
