What if challenge # 2

Overall Challenge #2 :

What if Harry met someone "magical" before going to hogwarts, and became his apprentice. No he's not an all powerful mage. He's not Merlin, or any of the founders. He's not a vampire or a werewolf. No, the one Harry meets is none other than Roger Conant. Who is Roger Canant you ask? Why, he's none other than the world's most powerful squib there is! Well... technically. While he may not be able to use magic he did teach himself to use the only three branches of magic possible to any with even an drop of magical blood. Blood magic, Potions, and the third he developed on his own. Chakra!


Rules:
*Not a crossover with Naruto! Elements of Naruto is fine and expected but, meeting Naruto character or descendents I would prefer to avoid.
*Blood magic is performed through rituals (past and present). Not illegal, just frowned upon.
*Chakra is performed (obvious to all who know of Naruto) through hand seals
*Harry starts out relatively weak in chakra because Magic weakens dormant chakra but, chakra strengthens magic.
* I don't care if Roger introduces Harry to the magical world or not. I pictured roger as a fifty something old man who rejected the magical world for scorning his lack of ability to cast spells.
*Roger doesn't know about Harry being the boy-who-lived because he doesn't care much for Wizarding.
*Roger wants to be known for his power but the ministry pushes against squibs and the statute keeps him quiet from the muggles.


Well there goes the second challenge. now all I can do is hope not to be ripped apart or completely ignored.

 

Hmm it could be quite interesting. Personally I don't think that blood magic really fits into this challenge. With Chakra and potions its seems more balanced. After all you have to define what blood magic does. Is it similar to that used in Miranda's A Second Chance at Life? If so then unless you go to the utter powerful things it seems useless. Chakra from Naruto allows for massive physical improvement, which kind of negates the need for using blood magic to make one super-strong/fast etc.

The way you have Rodger discoving CHakra perhaps it would be better if he made it with the help of another Squib. It just seems that depending on when Rodger developed chakra in this, he would only have so much time to experiment use it.

Can Rodger sense magic, and if not why would he take Harry on as an Apprentice (please let it be something other than 'wise master saves Harry from evil dursleys')

You say that chakra strenghens magic, what does this mean exactly. I mean if Harry trains up to a deent level of chakra, and then went to Hogwarts, what would this effect on his power ential? Would he enter school the equivilent of say a third year?

Can the Ministry detect Chakra?

Now onto potions. Rodger has apparently left the Magical world, cue his ignorance about Harry's status as the BWL. How does he get his potion ingrediants if he does not go to Diagon Alley? Is there any diffrence between squib created potions and ones made by Wizards.
(I have seen a fic where making potions is not just chucking in potion ingrediants at the right time, but instead a wizard focuses their energies into the potion as the ingrediants are added to help in the reactions and such. It was quite interesting and offered a reason Snape was a potion master, i.e. his near perfect control of what Magic he had.) If not are their thigns that can be made only with chakra that Roger has discovered?

Its an interesting challenge and I would read it if done right.

 

Well I guess I'll start from the beginning,

*Yes Blood Magic is like that but, It's more of he enhancing his immune system, magical conductivity, and body.

*Blood Magic is more permanent while chakra is fleeting and runs out.

*Roger having help is good but I would want him the last alive that knows enough to use it well.

*I pictured Roger discovering this young and started working on it since then to his current age and continuing.

*Roger can not sense magic but, can sense how chakra levels (chakra is Stamina and spirit energy mixed together)

*Chakra makes spells more potent the same way wind does for fire, just not as much.

*Harry would enter the school at say a strong second year because he's already magically strong and his chakra reserves couldn't catch up to his magic reserves by then (to much fire burns out he wind too fast).

*The Ministry can't detect Chakra because Magic is only the spark to start the Chakra and is weaker than the ambient magic in the ground and air. If a strong amount of Chakra was used then yes it would be noticed but, it would take a hell of a lot.

* Roger could grow his own ingredients or sticks to the more shoddy places. A wizard's potion would probably be more potent if well made but, because a squib has such a weak amount of magic it would make most squib potions stronger than the average wizard.

 

If you’re going to use the Naruto definition of Chakra then its physical energy mixed with mental energy not spiritual.
