The first part of Unsung Hero wasn't that good in the first place. The writing was decent and it did have some interesting parts (can't for the love of me remember what those parts were though), but when it came down to it, every single person was a caricature and the plot was nothing but a massive super-but-misunderstood!Harry wankfest. It's just that the ending was so terribad, everything else looked good in comparison. You started to actually miss the parts where his brother took credit for every heroic thing Harry had ever done and everybody decided it had to be true, because he had the better scar.

Still, I can't help but laugh when I think back to the part where his brother decided it would be a good idea to transform into a two inch spider during a duel. I mean, come on, who even needs a Killing Curse when you can crawl into someone's mouth when they sleep?

 

I liked the whole spider thing because people tend to over power animagus forms. Case in point, Harry's form in this story. Of course, the character the readers despise would be a bug, but I found that form to be refreshing. You can only read so many phoenixes, basilisks, dragons and griffins before they all start to blend.

"Avedo Kaodavrea!"

 

Unfortunatly Unsung Hero was one of the first fics I ever read, but when I started some of the better one, (that didn't have a godlike Harry) I found that whenever I stumble onto one, venting in one of my own stories seems to help...well until I found this place at least
