Just how Weasley is Sound of Sorcery, is it H/G Weasley of just Weasley friendly?
I love that, lol. I do that all the time.

I like Erised Burnings story that I can't remember then name of, the one where Harry is half house elf and throws lightening bolts, pure gold.

Harry Potter and the Summer of Change:
    Tonks is badass
Harry actually TRAINS to become more powerful and try to defeat Voldemort, instead of just hoping it'll happen
Independent!Harry, goes against Dumbledore and the Order while staying one of the good guys.

Molly and Minerva walking in on a naked Harry and Tonks = magical

Once upon a Freakin' Time is good. So is its side-story So You Want to Be Evil. Those are great if you want a laugh. I would say Lighting on the Wave's Sacrifice Arch if it weren't slash. I can deal with it sometimes but Draco's an idiot and that bothers me. So My all time favorite is always going to be Reign of Power by Fayre Warning. Great fic. Just needs to be updated.

 <---I like this icon. Dance Banana Dance!!!!

Evil Be Thou My Good and Over The Hills And Far Away are my favorite Harry Potter FF. Both happen to be Crossovers (Over The Hill's is a very well-crafted Naruto/HP xover).

And I gotta agree with the other people who dislike Dakath. I read the first like...3-4 chapters when it was first released, then dropped it when he was gonna verbally bitch slap Umbitch (in the begining).

For Comedy I love Once Upon a Freakin Time by Evade and practically anything by Nonjon. Also a little fic called A Flying Commentary by MamaLaz

For action/drama my favorite is Harry Potter and the Battle of Wills by Jocelyn. (I know its H/G but its a really great fic! It's true!) Evil Be Thou My Good was excellent. Also Potter by Water Mage.

For angst I thought Giving Notice by Quoth the Raven and Are You Now or Have You Ever Been? by fyre was great. Also Daddy's Favorite by Dzeytoun was good too.

It's not that we have something against it, it's just that it's writer wishes it could disown it. :p

Definitely the Sacrifices Arc, by Lightning on the Wave. It's a seven-year series, an alternate universe that turns everything on its head and twists minor plot elements in canon into huge parts of it, and the most important points of canon into filler at best. It's H/D slash, but the slash can mostly be ignored, and isn't an integral part of the series. Most of it is pointed out by the author, by section, at the beginning of the chapter so people can ignore it if they so choose.

I dunno about you, but the slash in that story is stifling. Besides the annoying as hell "comforting, possessive hugs", and public shows of affection, the sheer atmosphere just screams slash.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't ignore that the main character is being stuffed up the ass, or participating in a mantrain.

It's like this voice in my head that screams "He's gonna get assrammed! He's gonna get assramed!"

    No. I can't ignore Harry-centric slash.

...Wrong fic? It's been a long time, but I don't remember writing anything about Harry wanting to verbally slap Umbridge. As it happens, I don't think the toad and Harry ever met again in that story. As for my own opinion, I could write a whole laundry list of things that I dislike about the story now, but I don't see the need to bother.

My personal favorite is Heir of Silvertongue by Lord Ravenclaw. Mostly because it was my first ever HP fic, but also because it is very original, even now. Personally, I think that it started the whole cliche of Harry recieving his powers at midnight on his 16th birthday, but that's just me. >_>

Mine is definitely Jbern's Bungle in the Jungle: A Harry Potter Adventure, mainly because of cursebreaker!Harry which I had been wanting for a while before it came out. And when it did I was blown away, he took it far beyond what i had imagined. There was bonus points to for using my favorite pairing and the original writing style.

After that comes A Second Chance at Life for all of it's problem it is still incredibly original and has some of the best magics in all of the fandom.

To each his own. I put slash in the same category as het pairings; I don't read Harry Potter fanfiction to know who's having sex with who. But if it's a good enough story I can ignore almost anything to keep reading. It's better not to think of it as sex, and instead as the same thing as a normal relationship: two people staying close to each other to make themselves and the other as miserable as possible.

...NO! Repent! Repent! May god have mercy on your soul!

Now that I have all the years of pent up religion out. So you would read Mpreg if it's a "good story'!

A good story with Mpreg in it is an absurdity in itself. Writing Mpreg implies getting rid of tremendous anatomy/cell biology/embryology-related problems, with the extremely simplistic and devastatingly lame: "with magic, nothing is impossible!"... This will never be a good story in my book.

I don't know who it was, but I know it was in Dakaath. Maybe not Umbridge, but it was someone who's not well liked in Canon, and took place like the day after the train ride to Hogwarts.

Of course I could be wrong, as like I said, I only read like 3-4 chapters, and dropped it shortly before that scene, the story just gave off a bad air of arrogance or something, not sure what it was that drove me away from the story now.
