As someone who plays a lot of Lux I never have any problems with the hitbox on her ult. I think it's just that the last part of the animation is a bit wider than the actual hitbox. The thinner red line that appears just before is that actual size of it.

It's a perspective issue more than anything else. If the game was top down you'd see the laser misses you, but because the perspective is more isometric the particles look like they overlap your champion.

    I'm watching GuardsmanBob play Yorick.

Stopped watching before it finished, but I'm pretty sure he lost. Not because of him but certainly not because of his team either. If he had a stronger half-decent champ, he probably would've won. His team won the lane phase while he (at best) went even. But as soon as the first teamfight started...

    Yorick is a faggot.

I approve of the fact that at least you recognize this topic is starting to die and wither away...

Also, I really need to start playing Rumble top more, I haven't played him as much as I used to.

I'm pretty sure I was doing awesome until our shitty anivia lost the game for us and fed hard, plus she never called mia or helped out in teamfights. Sure Yorick could be better, but he can work well in some comps as he is now as long as his team isn't terrible. Also, ulting anivia with Yorick=double egg. That shit be OP son.

The double egg isn't really OP, you waste a ton of ghost time if you get into egg form, they don't even have to do anything to the ghost after getting Anivia into egg form. Just my opinion but I haven't really seen Anivia and Yorick together.

Well, the trick is to wait and ghost Anivia, before the egg dies, or after Anivia comes back up.

That being said, not my favorite trick with Yorick, but it is pretty hilarious to pull off.

Nah, what happened is that after I ghosted Churchey, for some reason they killed the ghost first, which turned into an egg, and I guess that they assumed that meant it was the real one or something because they all focused it.

So I just got started in LoL a few days ago. I'm level seven, and I suck pretty bad, but it's entirely too much fun. I really should have waited until after midterms to start...

Anyway, I've mostly just been fucking around with different types of the free-to-play champions to see what works best for me. I played with Nautilus several time yesterday and liked it a lot (not sure if I liked being tanky or his pull, haha). The only champion I actually own at the moment is Garen, and I do fairly well with him, though I gather that's mostly because Garen is just Garen.

Anyway, I really have no idea what I'm doing, so I guess if you guys have any tips/tricks for a new player I'd definitely welcome them?

What's probably a good idea since you've just started to play, is to try to find one of each role you can play decently, because well, there's going to be at least one game that due to retards locking in, you're going to be forced to play a role or dodge. Here's a list of fairly cheap champions that are good to learn:

I suggest Shen for learning how to solo top, he's increadibly tanky with a strong CC in his taunt, and his ult will teach you to pay attention to the entire map and what your team is doing.

Annie is a good AP carry, and she's good for not only learning how to last hit, but she's pretty strong as well and is able to roam from mid for some good ganks. Plus, learning how to keep track on the stacks of your passive is a good skill.

Amumu is a great jungler that can bring a ton of CC to a team with his Q and Ult, and he's good for learning how to do skill shots with his Q, and in all honesty he's one of the strongest gankers in the game. Plus he's good for learning how to control buffs (both yours and the other teams), since he doesn't really need buffs apart from his initial clear, although feel free to take blue if your mid doesn't need it (or is just plain bad). He's also surprisingly good at stealing buffs, I've found that placing a ward in the bush between blue and mid on the other team, and in the bush next to blue at ~7 minutes means that I'll have vision of it when it respawns, meaning that I can walk on over, Q over the wall and steal it, and if I see somebody coming with the wards I'll just bail.

Tristana is a strong AD carry with both a built in steriod and escape, but the ability to shut down an enemies healing and knock somebody back to either do extra damage or to get them off your face. She's pretty good for learning how to position yourself in a fight, and her jump means that you can get out of some sticky situations that other ad carries can't.

Taric or Alistar are both good supports, since they provide a good mix of tank, CC and sustain to the team, and Taric is just plain fabulous and Alistar is unstopabull.

There are plenty of other great champions to play, but these are a good base of not only learning the basics such as how to last hit, but things that may be a bit harder such as paying attention to what your team is doing, and knowing when you should gank a lane. If you're on the NA server then I'll add you and maybe play a few games.

Oh, and for some information about runes and masteries, I've found http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/co...s_updated_19th/ to be very useful.

My suggestion is, while you are still new, play every single champion you can. If there's a new week of free champion, play every champion that you haven't before. Forget about the whole "learning a role" bullcrap. Just by having playing a champion once or twice, will allow you to play better AGAINST said champion in the future. You will probably eventually find some champions you like, a playstyle that fits you. But try as many as you can until you lock yourself into a role/champion. It's a big noob trap for people that only learns "OP" champions and plays only them until level 30. In the end, their understanding of the game is still poor even at level 30, and they can't rise in elo (or LP now). Incidentally, these are usually the same people that cries "OMG BAN SHEN, etc etc," because of their small champion pool in what they believe to be "viable/OP." As it stands right now, I can assure you most if not all LoL champions are plenty viable and have their own roles to play.

Edit: A small problem with this though, is that it may be dificult to understand item builds. But really, at that level, you can just go on solomid.net and follow a recommended build. You will eventually find that builds are not so static, but that won't matter till later on.

Knowledge is extremely important in this game.

Learn everyone's combos, cooldowns, mana costs, and numbers. Lets you know what you can get away with in what time frame. Notice how pro's always get away with like, 100 hp? Like that LCS game last week, where some dumbass high health Ezreal with BT tried to 1v1 a low health Cait...who had IE and was standing in a bush.

    Cait won.

Or for a more general example, as soon as you see Ezreal blow his E superfluously, you got about 8 seconds (to be safe) where you can initiate on him in a team fight.

    I love TheOddOne's stream.

    "Someone else support.
Oddone: Someone else support? Sorry, I can't hear you from way down there at fifth pick ehehehehe."

Cannot emphasise the 'play everyone you can get your hands on' theme above. I made the mistake of playing mostly Malphite & Shen from around level 27 - 30, around the same time Malphite emerged on the pro-scene again and when I eventually started ranked, I felt useless as my favourite champions were banned repeatedly, if not all the time (Amumu, Malphite, Shen... Kayle oddly enough, though that's coming back around).
