Agreed. Changing the name is dumb, in my opinion, mostly because I'd never heard Finales Funkeln before and thought the name was cool. I'm sure someone will come out with a mod that allows you to keep it as that probably right around when this patch comes out.

On a similar note, this name change might be an effort by Riot for people to actually call her ultimate by its name, instead of just "Her laser". Personally, I called it "The Shoop da whoop" the first time I saw it, but that's irrelevant.

So, it might just be me stating the obvious, but, bar her ult, Diana seems like the opposite of Leona (I have noticed her in the background and read all the 'evil sister' idea's on the forums and so on) so, I'm not really seeing the point of adding her...? Might just be me though, having never played Leona.

The Rumble nerf seems fair to me, after trying him out at a friends house it was just an utter face-roll up top against most champions by 6, but then again it was normal so, can't really say too much.

Finally, Malphite, I'm... kind of loving this guy, I've yet to lose a game with him, albeit I do some stupid shit. Not really sure who counters him, but, bar some 2 vs 1 top situations when the enemy doesn't jungle in normal queue, I've usually always won the lane and then just been able to roam and gank to my hearts content, winning every game, even carrying some god awful people. I get the feeling they might nerf Malphite further, if not in this patch then certainly in a later one. That's just my opinion like I said as I've not really been countered, or played against someone who knows how to.

Malphite + Karma is all kinds of funny too.

Malphite has been one of my favorite and most played characters since beta. IIRC, I mentioned it somewhere around page 70.

He's absurdly strong and my experience with him is why I always tell anyone who will listen why teemo top is a horrible and stupid choice, because he is essentially a pathetic version of malphite who trades utility, cc, damage, and tankiness for a few levels of slightly stronger laning and even then, only vs melees with no gap closers. Malphite reduces damage from autoattacks by 50% with a 95% uptime with his groundslam attackspeed slow. It's the strongest anticarry device you can have, and his unstoppable force guarantees you can get in position to apply it.

It's a little sad that they probably will nerf him, because he is perfectly balanced. Playing vs a heavy AP team significantly hurts his survivability and by extension his damage. There is also very, very, very little he can do vs sustain champions of any sort due to his relatively weak harass in comparison to his mana regen. But I agree that they will probably nerf him, simply because of his popularity. He has always been able to fill the role he does now, an amazing anti carry with a 50% attackspeedslow who can ignore AD carry damage all game and have 200+ armor even vs a last whisper.

The new champion bears a startlingly similar appearance to soraka, imo. Looking forward to playing her very much.

I wonder why we always associate the moon with women. New jungle is exciting, and sounds very powerful. Too powerful if she can get as tanky as other jungles do. Skillshot out of bush, teleport then ms slow. If they escape then they flashed, and she will come back when her cd are off. Having a gap closer is really powerful coming out of jungle, sometimes too powerful if your damage is high (Jax can really wreck faces with his leap stun, I see Shyvana all the time, hell even Jarvan when you land his combo is very strong all things being even) or you have a lot of CC (Allistair, who is pretty much permabanned in tourney play, blitz, Skarner).

Lol@twitch change. More AD, how great. He still folds like wet cardboard to any damage, and now you can't stealth to hide. Does the tactical stealth on Shaco get delayed if you get hit? Never noticed that if so. In general though, Twitch seems pretty bad off. The best AD carry have a skill that let's them position then return to damage almost instantly (Cait net, Graves dash, Trist jump, Ez port, Corki valk) with Ashe being an exception, since her kite is based out of her frost arrows. Draven is just bad, I never see him, but he has that move aside wave skill.

Funny how long I waited for this stealth change and they nerfed Twitch, who I thought would finally get a buff. Twitch needed a long stealth because he was so squishy, I generally would have waited until the buff was mostly done to unload on an enemy team anyway. Haven't seen Eve yet either.

It's a Greek/Roman thing. The goddess of the hunt/maidenhood/the moon has the moon as her symbol, amongst other things. I'm sure it goes back further than that, but this was the first explanation that occurred to me.

On the case of Diana herself, why don't you guys just read her background instead of making epileptic trees about her.

That's what people thought about a lot of champions. Draven is a dark-horse AD carry with a lot of potential when played correctly, and the only problem he really has is that most people who play him will try him out once, get pissed off by one or two of his mechanics, then never play him again. His Q is meant to be a subtle nudge from Riot to get players to reposition themselves more often, or at least that's how I've seen it.

Diana is certainly fun to play. I played a couple games on the PBE and I enjoyed her a great deal. The arcing Q is quite unique and enjoyable. I'll be picking her up for sure when she is released.

I know about Diana/Minerva, but one cultural influence does not a trend make. Otherwise, a lot of tropes would be different (for instance, fire/red being a popular element/color for the 'leader' of a five man band).

Draven himself has potential, but he really doesn't fit into what we expect our AD carries to be. Right now, we want our AD carry to be glass cannons capable of easily re-positioning in a teamfight, or having some way to keep a determined enemy off them (graves-dash and sight block, kog- spitball, ashe- frost arrows, etc.) and the minor knockback from the Draven skill doesn't count. I know, I play Maoki and his skill does the same thing. Draven just doesn't fit into the meta.

Riot doesn't need to promote attack-move, since good players will do it anyway.

By promoting it more players will improve though. He really doesn't fit the current meta though, weird as it is I think he feels more like a top laner :/

Rumble changes piss me off. He's meant to be an early game bully and now that he IS exactly what he's meant to be he gets nerfed.

I don't think people realize that the Malphite and Kassadin nerfs were aimed at Dominion, were they were two of the most brutal champions in the game.

100% up-time Atk Spd debuff vs 60% of the enemy team compromising of auto-attackers while scaling off the anti-auto attack stats let Malphite shutdown way too many people easily. I've seen some carries neutered to .7 Atk Spd even after their PD.

The ability to build defense and still dish out huge damage, warp around the map faster than any other champion by abusing wall hops, and CC/Slow that loads again really fast in fights made Kass ridiculous even when built nearly full tank.

Dominion is way different from SR, so while those two weren't dominant in classic, they were ridiculous in Dom.

No. The problem is that it's promoting how Riot wants us to do it. Not the optimal way to do it.

And CLG just wiped the floor with M5. Anyone watch that match? CLG did what M5 should have done in the Dreamhack tourney.

Look dude, I could go on for hours about how you're obviously underestimating how much of a cultural influence the Roman Empire has had on the modern world, but I won't, and since you missed out on the 'maidenhood' part of my post, I'm going to spell it out for you. Menstrual Cycle. Roughly, women can keep track of their cycle by the moon's 28 day cycle. Hell, in Game of Thrones it's specifically referred to as "moon's blood". That's somewhat telling, in my opinion. George R.R. Martin might be an excellent author, but he's not exactly the most original guy on the block either. He didn't come up with that on his own. Now that I've shared that little tidbit of information, we'll move on to more pressing matters. Like actually discussing League instead of obscure cultural questions.

Draven has a speed buff as well, which, used properly, would allow the player to outrun anyone following him. The CD on it is so low that you could activate it at inhibitor turret and have it back up before you got to the outer turret at mid. Also, again, used properly, his knockback could potentially save his ass. Someone's chasing you at top/bottom? Use it to knock them into the golem bush and keep running.

Too squishy. He doesn't really have a place, honestly, when there are champions like Vayne that can go bottom instead. At top he'd be ripped apart by Riven, or Darius, or Malphite, and the list goes on.

The problem, in my opinion, is that with the nerf they've also included a bugfix where his damage is more consistent. This nerf/bugfix could be great and fix the problem some Rumbles have of being either shut down in lane or way overpowered. But it could also neuter him completely.

Except the bug-fix is already live. Guess what. 1/2 the tops still curb-stomp him while the other half get stomped.

It all comes down to whether they have a good gap close/range harass or not.

That's an even less satisfying answer. Game designers don't look at if a character will have a menstrual cycle when designing a character. Similarly, there are more cultures than Roman, and many of them have female lunar deities as well. There is no real "right" answer here, but it is a question worth asking. We associate the moon with women in more ways than just periods. A lot of traditionally feminine associated events (a man trying to be romantic might set up a dinner with his girl either set to moonlight, or candles with a clear view of the moon in popular media, moonlit walks on the beach was a common romantic moment, etc) take place while the moon is prominent.

MS loses to CC, so his speed boost isn't really worth debating about. Normally you don't want to Chase down someone (AD carry) but burst them down then if they get away finish them off with a skill. His knock aside is only minorly effective whenever I've come out of jungle to gank him. It just isn't severe enough to do what it actually wants to do: force an opponent to be positioned poorly.

Yorick is an asshole. Seriously. He's hard as hell to push out of lane and has good harass, good sustain, fair escapes, he's tanky, does good damage early, chases well, and he counters a shitload of champions. Even most of the ones he doesn't don't have an easy time against him.

The only reason he's not subject to endless cries of OP!! Is because late-game if he doesn't get fed he's basically only useful for ulting the carry during teamfights.

But still, if you want a good general pick that rarely has issues top, he's definitely worth having.

While they may have dominion implications, the nerf was very much in response to Malphites overwhelmingly overpowered presence across several major tournaments.

This, so much this. He basically made having an AD carry quite worthless. Since no matter how good your positioning, he could get to the carry and shut them down totally and utterly. He was just way too punishing in the hands of skilled players.

What's that? Finales Funkeln is foreign and thus bad? Why, then why don't we change Katarina's 'Shunpo' to 'Flash Step?' Fiora's got a French move called 'Riposte.' We've gotta change that to 'Retort.'

What's that? Mordekaiser's name is German? Better make it Murder Emperor. Ahri? Korean for Elegant. Better change that too.
