Top lane meta is retarded even more now. Pick highest natural sustain=free win top. Goodbye no sustain top lane champs!

Messes up other lanes too. You're up against someone who has a better early game than you. They right click you with impunity, because minions won't do jackshit, and health pots won't help at all. With jungle change, 4:00 gonna be so slow you might as well be afk first 3 minutes, you need earlier wards. But you can't because enemy laner is not letting you farm.

There is no smart aggression anymore. Its fast as light jungles, and the enemy laners or you right clicking/using spells with impunity on each other with the best early game champ you can pick. Riot didn't drop the ball, they threw it out of the fucking atmosphere.

Also patch preview shows new red buff on melee perfectly. Owait....

I'd call this definitely not true. Certain champions just do better vs other champions up there. For example, as Irelia, I won my lane vs a Yorick who played quite well. This typically isnt the case as his sustain is crazy. As a Nasus, I beat a Talon not because I have some basic lifesteal but because I played smart and got early chain vest against him.

Take Wukong for example. While he has no sustain, he can take on solo tops that do like Cho'Gath and sometimes Irelia. I've even seen it work vs Udyr. He can also lane vs crazy sustain like Renekton if you know how Renekton works.

Fizz is another possible solo top that can take on those with heals like Cho'Gath, Olaf, Irelia or Nasus. Sure, he has a healing debuff, but its his damage output early on that can achieve a win top.

Singed is another great example of a relatively no sustain champion that can beat out those with actual sustain like Cho'Gath, Udyr or even Irelia at times.

Both Wukong and Singed often get a sustain item like Wriggles or Catalyst, but rarely does a champion like Fizz or Talon get massive sustain and they can both beat some solo tops.

Not especially a unique game, but certainly fun.

 

So after a LOT of fizz games, I have some quick info for anyone looking to try him out next week when he comes on the champion rotation. Really, I am just procrastinating.

For Jungle fizz:
-Really any set of defensive/offensive masteries works out. 9/21/0, 0/21/9, 21/9/0, 21/0/9, some weird offense build that takes both armor and mpen, w/e.
-Run 14% attackspeed runes or a full ensemble of attackspeed runes, either works.
-Start blue with cloth 5 pots, then proceed through to the end. If you're an experienced jungler, take out the wolves THEN do blue then proceed through the jungle. Risque, I know. Depending on your leash you could be near dead or full hp at the end of the run, so check top. If it's good to gank, go for it. If it isn't, go back for boots then head on for ganks.
-Gank by running to a target, Qing toward them, then Eing on top of them when they flash. Do not tower dive if you don't have E up. Once you hit 6, use your ult like an ashe arrow from the brush, then move in once it sticks. The build is an autoattack one, wits end/sootd/malady are all great item choices for jungle fizz.
-Wriggles is NOT required. Keep in mind you need to keep buying HP pots to keep your jungle sustain. But with his passive, you don't take much damage at all as you gear up. Once you have 1-2 on hit attackspeed items, gear defensively with warmogs/atmas/fon/banshees/ga/frozen heart etc type of items.
-Skill R>W>E>Q. Jungle skill order is W--Q--W--E

AP Fizz:
-Can be played top or mid, does not work well bot.
-A lot of people advocate a RoA build. Fizz's strongest time is his mid game and early game. A RoA is detrimental to that. Build boots, 3 dorans, and a sheen. Should cost less than RoA and give you a vastly stronger laning phase between 1300-->4500g farm. I have had the most success with this build. RoA just puts you too far behind on damage. By the time you complete it, the person you are laning against has his phage+wriggles+HoG or most of his deathcap.
-Key to this build is playing aggressively early. I use full AP runes (check my profile rune page "Octopus") and 21/0/9 masteries. If you can trade at level 1, do so. This works great vs nearly every top champion. Be wary of trading too much with a sustain champ without following up.
-Don't attempt to trade at level 1 vs ranged AP mids because you will likely get yourself harassed and put behind. Once level 2 hits, go for a kill. You can achieve this around 50% of the time with proper aggression. Activate W just as you Q in, get a few autoattacks off, and back off. If they are low enough, ignite and take the kill. Level 2 Q-->W combo deals 180+1.4AP with 1 autoattack. Every successive autoattack adds 50+10+.35 damage. Normally, it's only 2-3 combos at level 2 for a kill if you didn't trade at level 1.
-Even if you don't get a kill, keep up the harass every time Q and W are up. --Don't waste mana Eing away unless they are REALLY punishing you for your harass.
-Once you hit level 6, shark--Q-->W-->ignite is generally enough for a kill and then you hop out of their turret after.
-Build boots 3 pots into 3 dorans into a sheen, then a rylais, boots 2, then a lichbane. From here you can go for other tanky ap items like zhonyas/abyssal, or go for straight damage like deathcap.
-Of 6 fizz games in my current match history, 5 were AP using this build. My K-:-Ds were 15:5, 17:5, 9:1, 16:4, 13:6.
-Skill order is W-->Q-->W--->E. R>W>E>Q. Get E at level 1/2/3 if they have an aggressive jungle ganker.

Tanky DPS Fizz
-This only works because triforce/atmogs forces itself to work.
-Solo top, play more or less the same as AP fizz early game.
-Start cloth armor 5 pots for sustain, rush triforce, then warmogs/atmas. A wits end is a good item to toss in somewhere. You deal a lot less damage but can take a lot more punishment. Coupled with your E, you don't die often.
-Run whatever masteries you like, I just use the same that I use for most of my AD solo tops (Physical Offense mastery page in my profile).
-For runes I use 25% attackspeed/13 armor/24mr at 18. This makes your early game trades extremely powerful.
-Fizz is a strong counter to a lot of passive solo tops or those that rely on sustain. Notably tryndamere, Nasus, cho, Singed.
-Same skill order as both of the above.


Note for all builds: When getting ganked by a rammus, don't E to avoid powerball. He will just follow you then taunt. Wait until he hits you with powerball. As soon as he hits you, hit E and bounce away. You are out of taunt range. This always works at avoiding rammus ganks.
Now I'll try to get to work =/

Items to avoid: Gunblade, Rageblade, spellvamp, lifesteal, nashoors. Anything hybrid. Fizz main source of damage can't spellvamp, so all spellvamp items are useless. Even as a tanky dps build, Fizz main source of damage will be his W, meaning lifesteal is also worthless. Hybrid items in general don't work. If you want sustained damage, you build tanky to survive dealing it out. If you want to deal high damage, you build AP to have burst. His AP ratios are quite good.
