Solo queue on ranked placements makes me rage.
"I'M ASHE MID I HAVE RANGE HURR DURR." 9 minutes of feeding TF later "LUX TAKE MID, I TRIED MY BEST"

Blitz: Pull, run away. "It's my first time!"
"Where do I put wards?" "Put the pink ones on Dragon and baron." "Okay!" *plops in bottom brush*

Caitlyn: Lux you suck! No last hitting or harassing, no follow through after my stuns, retarded trap placement, 80 cs after 25 minutes, with Greaves, dorans and a vamp scepter.

Next game, same guy goes Warwick jungle.

    And then the Brazilians.

    :facepalm

    My ranked games are lulz:

Highest Gold/Kills on my team and I'm support Naut at duo bot with lowest CS count.

Enemy team was Fiddle (Jungle), Lux + Corki (Bot), Swain (Mid), Lee Sin (Top).

My team was Sivir + Naut (Bot), Ahri (Mid), Skarner (Jungle), Singed (Top).

    Used Exhaust for more lulz.

I literally walked into all 5 of them at Baron, killed 2 of them, and left with 200 HP.

At one point, at lvl 6, I managed to full HP combo the enemy Corki down so fast, it was hilarious.

Since we're sharing =P I had fun this game. I only started dying because they'd focus me down, nonstop surrender attempts by the other team that keep getting failed, lol. All but 2 of my deaths came in the last handful of minutes from trying to push out from our base after we got locked in. My team mates were so horribly bad it wasn't even funny I think we ended with the other team having double the amount of kills we did, most of which came from from 1 guy alone. I swear I'd think he was doing it on purpose if he wasn't raging so hard, lol. Wound up with like 600 AP, and wasn't even done with my items, or maxed out yet, lmfao.

I played a lot of games with Saintvicious before s1 started and I think he's a pretty big douche. I'm not a big HSGG fan either and CLG is definitely not one of the better teams atm.

But this was just too good:

Also, 'a werecat' was terminated. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=1959604
Most people are saying "Pendragon 2012" but a few are saying that firing the guy over 1 incident (it was actually 2 that are known about) is excessive.

Riot basically has a zero tolerance policy with people abusing their powers to ban.

Hey everybody. I've been playing LoL for over a year now but I really feel like my play's been stagnating (horrible Res internet eight months of the year doesn't help) and I've got two serious problems I'd like some advice on.

Early game last hitting. I'm bad at it. It always seems like I'm mis-judging an auto, the minions being left with like 10 hp. I know its a matter of practice with a champion, but any quick tips/tricks?

AP mid. I can't wrap my head around this lane. I feel like it should be my best, that it matches my playstyle but I'm just so.. bad at it. Not even mediocre, just plain feeder/surrender at 20 and I don't know why the lane won't click in my head. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Early game last hitting is basically, as you said, practicing the champion. If you can't judge it, go for auto-attacks. While it is a significant waste of time, it's not a huge issue at low levels of play and you'll get more CS this way than you'll miss by misjudging your last hits. It also depends on the champs you play, though. I can guess from the next part of your post that you play AP champions, which at least somewhat gives me an idea of what your problem is. Most AP Champions will never build AD (with the exception being Akali, Katarina, and Fizz, off the top of my head) and that means that you're going to suck ass at last-hitting because you don't have enough AD to make up for doing it too early, and you don't have enough AS to make up for low AD. The easiest way to do it with an AP Champion, in my opinion, is to either learn at what point on the creep's health you attack, or simply use a low mana cost spell that you'll regen in a matter of seconds. Viktor's laser is awesome for this.

As far as your AP Mid problems, I honestly don't know what to tell you. You'd have to specify. Where are you having problems? Are you getting ganked too much? Are you dying too often to the other caster? If it's a matter of your items vs theirs, then it falls back on CS, and I can't help you there. If it's a matter of just not being good at AP Mid, play some AI games. Intermediate AI, while nothing really actually 'good' at the game, is surprisingly decent.

Another suggestion; Pick up champions that are decent entry-level champions but are still a force to be reckoned with. Ryze is great for this because you'll learn the basics of playing AP champions and he doesn't have any issues that some of the others do. He's a balanced champion, and there's a reason that he costs 450 IP. He's a jack-of-all-trades, not lacking in any particular area but never really shining in any either.

Good way to learn cs is to play a champ that has spells rewarded for getting the last hit: Annie, Nasus, and Veigar come to mind. Their spells do more damage, so it's easier to last hit, but once you build the mind frame of gauging exactly how much of a bar the minions need to have to get the last hit, you can do better on any champ.

Or, if you are bad at last hitting, considering just practicing jungling. Probably the most important role on a team in solo qs and csing isn't as big of an issue.

Also, while in lane, are you last hitting as in ONLY going for last hits? It's much easier to last hit when you do that. It always help me too, when going for last hits, is to look at your own minion's attacks. Rather than looking at enemy minions and waiting for health to drop enough, predict how much it will drop as your minions send their attacks. If you do that, you should be able to hit the minion before your own minions kills them the next hit. This is a little harder to do when your lane is pushed, and you have a lot of minions hititng one. This just takes practice, or you can just use some mana and get the last hits you are unsure on.

Also, for Ap mid, in what aspect are you failing in? Are you getting ganked a lot? Just flat out losing in pokes? etc, etc. Remember, different champs simply have different play styles too. E.g, a TF shouldn't be going up close and trying to outpoke a Cassiopeia. Or Heimerdinger, who has an amazing poke and laning phase which should abused it as much as possible before he starts to fall off later on. Generally, if your auto attack range is higher, that should also be abused as much as possible. For wards, usually it is enough to ward one side and just stick to it. Although, it is a little different depending on the jungler (WW at level 6, alistar, Skarner) and those may require wards on both sides.

I can't play AD carry just like how you can't play AP mid. For me my problem is that I'm too aggressive and in a lane that relies on coordination between the two people playing in a radical way offsets the "feel" of the lane, hence why I don't play any AD carry.

Anyway being in a solo means that you have to cs hard, especially early so that you can have those dorans earlier. If you're really having trouble csing you may want to put in the two mastery points for the increased minion damage, after all what else are you going to put it in? In the end all you can really do is keep practicing and try and get a feel for how the lane plays out, or how aggressive your opponent is.

Some additional information: I'm an aggressive player. I like pushing a lane and taking maybe more risk then necessary in order to secure a kill. I mainly play auto-attack ranged AD carries because its what I'm best at, but I don't really enjoy the role. (this is where my main last hitting problems come from 'oh! he's low enough.' BAM. 2 health left. Minion kills it.)

AP seems like what I'd enjoy the most but whenever I give it a shot I'm constantly out poked, out csed, their jungler ganks like a beast etc. Some of that is my lack of an AP rune page, but that gives an edge. It doesn't lead to the complete dominance I usually face. I really want to play the high risk/reward burst champs (Fizz and Akali) but due to the ping problems I have most of the year.. :/

Jungler is also something I've been interested in but I'm going to wait to the summer months to really dive into it.

Sounds like you might like Morgana. Once you level her w to level 3 you can wipe out minions waves easily, getting yourself that much needed cs, and she's really hard to gank with her black shield giving her 100% cc immunity and lockdown, so you can really push with her. The black shield also makes her destroy most other ap carries, cuz it blocks a decent amount of damage.
Her passive is also spell vamp, so that gives her a lot of lane sustain, allowing you to take pokes without having to b as often.
Of course, you have to be decent at skill shots, cuz her q is a big part of her damage, especially if you can lock them in your aoe dot.

Evan Tide gave some awesome advice earlier in the thread, a few pages back.

Tank. Go and be a tank. Ping problems don't mean shit when you roll in and absorb damage, and every tank out there can be built into a hybrid (like Nautilus can become tanky AP). At that point you've got enough HP that you can be allowed to fuck around a little bit, but you're still learning the ins and outs of each specific role.

Also, tank is the one role that takes the least effort but has the most reward. As I said, you just run in there and soak up damage while the rest of your team dishes it out in return.
