Guitar Hero 3 comes out October 29. The song list looks pretty good so far.

    "Miss Murder" – AFI
    "School's Out" – Alice Cooper
    "Sabotage" – Beastie Boys
    "Paranoid" – Black Sabbath
"Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" – Blue Öyster Cult
"Through the Fire and Flames" – DragonForce
    "Slow Ride" – Foghat
"Welcome to the Jungle" – Guns N' Roses
    "Barracuda" – Heart
"The Number of the Beast" – Iron Maiden
"Rock and Roll All Nite" – Kiss
"Cult of Personality" – Living Colour
    "One" – Metallica
    "Mississippi Queen" – Mountain
    "Knights of Cydonia" – Muse
    "Even Flow" – Pearl Jam
    "Lay Down" – Priestess
"3's and 7's" – Queens of the Stone Age
"Suck My Kiss" – Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Rock You Like a Hurricane" – Scorpions
    "Raining Blood" – Slayer
    "Cherub Rock" – Smashing Pumpkins
    "The Metal" – Tenacious D
"Paint It, Black" – The Rolling Stones
    "Reptilia" – The Strokes
"She Builds Quick Machines" – Velvet Revolver
"My Name Is Jonas" – Weezer
    "La Grange" – ZZ Top

Although, this nearly made me cry. My only consolation is that it is a bonus song, or so I hear.

Regarding the link: Holy Shnikes Batman! Although it can't be tougher than playing Jordan on Expert.

Anyways, a pretty good lineup of songs, if not a little generic. I'm really looking forward to this game, the Guitar Hero series has been golden so far.

At least that song will hopefully keep the fags from bragging about how 'uber leet' they are at playing guitar.

The playlist needs more cowbell though.

Guitar Hero with Time would be so epic!

And Brain Damage/Dark Side of the moon would be awesome too.

Ahh well, there is always GH4.

They said 'Remember, No Stairway' in GH2 so I have been hoping, and honestly dreading, them putting Led Zeppelin on GH3. Hoping because, well ... it's fucking Robert Plant! Then again, it's Robert Plant, and what are the chances they'll mess up Stairway to Heaven completely? Rather large.

I would have rather them put a different Metallica song on there, but they made up for it with Welcome to the Jungle. Wish they had put some Cream on the track. I can forgive them for that, though, as we have some grunge rock to make up for it. Can't do wrong with Even Flow.

Still no Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, but I didn't expect them to. There are a number of Classic Rock bands that they seem to have missed in the series thus far, though putting The Rolling Stones on there is a step in right direction.

    In summary, three words:

    THEY GOT FOGHAT!!!!!!!!!!11111

Pfft. Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are way overrated. I would have loved to see some more Rage Against the Machine, a different RHCP song and a different Metallica song. I really dislike the Beastie Boys, as well. But, nonetheless, I'm very excited about this game. A definite buy.

    P.S. I lol'd at Slayer.

I wonder if the DragonForce song is going to be seven and a half minutes long or if they or going to cut some stuff out. It would be a pain in the ass to play that entire song, but I guess it would also be pretty fun.

Well, they didn't cut Freebird in Guitar Hero 2, and hell, that song is nearly ten minutes long. If they're willing to keep Freebird at its normal length (even with the first half of the song as boring as it is), then I imagine they'll be willing to keep the DragonForce song as long as it is.

Are you honestly insisting that Rage Against the Machine are a better rock band than Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd? There is simply no comparison. I would pull out a man's voice box with a butterknife just to see John Bonham bang on a drum for fifteen minutes.

I like Rage Against the Machine more than most, in fact, I have every album, but to say something as monumentally stupid as "Led Zeppelin is overrated", is akin to saying God is a meanie-head. No, he is at least an asshole, at most a murderous motherfucker.

In short, Led Zeppelin murders RATM. Without Zep there would be no Rage; in fact, without Zep, most of the artists on the Guitar Hero games would not exist as they are.

    So, shut the fuck up.

And for the record, the Beastie Boys are great, but do they really belong in Guitar Hero? I copped their latest instrumental CD and there's no doubt that they have talent as musicians, but last I checked, the Beasties still qualified as a Hip-Hop group. Legendary, but surely not Guitar Heroes.

    /rant off.

In response to the nasty, hurtful pictures and harsh words...I lol.

I never said that they were bad, just that they're overrated. And, face it. They are. Both bands are wildly popular the world over, but, do you think that 10 random average Joes that say they're fans of both bands can name the names to more than 10 songs?

And, honestly, I would much rather listen to Rage or RHCP than listen to Pink Floyd drone on and on about nothing exciting, with a boring rhythm and ridiculous synthesizers popping in every five minutes. But, that's just the type of music I like. Tolerance is a beautiful thing. :D

But this, come on! I detest it when people use this kind of logic. They say the same thing about Rosswrock's Power of Time. "Oh, he used the cliches first, so it's okay." No, it really isn't. Just because he wrote it first doesn't mean I want to go back and read it. Sure, it may have been the greatest thing since sliced bread back then, but now? I can't force myself to push through the first five chapters, much less the rest of the story.

The same applies to Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Sure, they may have been awesome when they were the new thing. Hell, I like quite a few of their songs. But just because they were one of the first bands to play rock 'n roll doesn't make me obligated to enjoy their music. If you follow that train of thought, then you must love listening to Buddy Holly and his contemporaries, American Blues players. That's where Elvis and the rock and roll crowd got all their inspiration from. And then you could go back even further, to Classical music, to whatever inspired that, to some bird chirping in 3000 B.C. or whenever that inspired some early human to make music.

Basically, it all comes back to the fact that I prefer fast beats and an active bass to the vast majority of the works of Zeppelin and Floyd. It's just a personal preference thing. Oh, and both are overrated, anyways. No matter how good they are.
