Too true. Every book so far does seem to have the disposable characters in it.

As far as who the HBP is, I also assume its just a new character.

Quick question: I know that people can use a spell to get the history on someone's wand, but how far does it go back? If it only goes back a few spells, then more than likely the curcio wouldn't show up. I'm sure Harry has used a couple Lumos, etc. before the end of that year.

Now, a quick "why I hate Ron". He is almost exactly like Draco. Draco expects everything to be given to him, as does Ron. Where is the evidence you say? Well prove me wrong. Ron complained in GoF about Harry, and was totally jealous. Ron wants to stick out and not be in anyone's shadow, then why doesn't he try to make a name for himself? Study more, help others, etc. Go out of his way to put his name out there and be known. Hell Harry is known as the Hero. Hermione as the 'brightest witch her age'. Oliver Wood was known as a great quidditch captain. The twins for great pranksters, etc.

I honestly hope and pray that HBP will have a line like this similiar in it:

Harry: "What do you mean living in my shadow Ron? Why don't you get off your ass and do something for once".

Fat chance, i dun think she has the intelligence to pull of something like that.. i mean look at the books. you know only the bare minimum about any given charactuer even the main characters after FIVE FUCKING BOOKS.. the story, while not BAD, could be better, and yesh.. too many disposavle characters..

Aye you all know my stance on this. I had a guy get pissed at me in a emailed review for Traitors after I'd stated my opinion in a chapt, lol.


After 5 godamned books, we should know every fricking thing there is to know about these cats. Instead we get to hear about how Albus is the greatest wizard six billion times, all about various cheezy ass games and weird customs, and if i see more entire chapters devoted to Quidditch I'll vomit.

As I said before, she created a great world, with good backstory in book 1. I dunno wtf happened after book 2.

3 was exciting... but you can't freaking expect me to believe a magically warded childrens school is so easy to get and out of. My son's elementary school has metal detectors, alarms on EVERY door, and you have to show ID to get your kids at 3pm.

It's in the middle of a nice residental area, with a police station for the city about a block away.

And yet Hogwarts, the supposedly more secure place in the world, headed by the strongest wizard in the world, keeps getting broken into more times then a sorority girl's chasity belt.

It's freaking insane!

book 1 a abused kid gets rescued only to nearly end up dieing in his first year.i'll give that he made friend and found a home and became an instant celebrity but "shit still hit the fan"
book 2 he gets abused evenmore and the whole parseltonge(sp) and chamber of serets thing and "shit still hits the fan"
book 3 is more of a case of "shit happens" because Sirius being his god father and his whole background story.
book 4 is both "shit happens" and "shit hits the fan" because he goes into the tournement( thats "shit happens")and the whole story leading to the kids death( the death is "shit hits the fan")
book 5 is purely "shit hits the fan" for reasons known to everyone.

any way i think the HBP is some old dead guy who was the last person to have 'the power' that harry will use to kill voldemort

 

I wish it wasn't a given he WILL defeat Voldie.

We all know he will, but it boils down to A)How and B)WIll he survive it.

A)"Power he knows not" is often referred to as "Love" which, if it is, will result in me going door to door burning all copies of book 7.

B) It'd make more sense to have him die, and Voldie win. I'm sorry but having a kid with insane luck, who just barellllllllyyyyy gets by each year alive kill of Voldie is stupid.

Don't get me wrong I like the whole universe she established in books 1-3, but ever since book 3, Harry's turned into a total idiot. Book 5 he sacked up some and led the DA, but only basically after being forced to by his friends.

JKR's gotta bring someone in to twist the kid dark, b/c currently he's not got a chance in hell if Voldie truly is competant at all.

 

thats true ............ i heard that the next book will have more romance in it.....thats ok as long as she keep letting the book get darker.....i mean she started makeing book five reletively(sp) darker the the other ones and once a series starts going dark she cant stop it other wise everything just blows up in her face

 

I was very happy with book 3, since it is the first in the series to start the path towards darker.

I'm afraid to see how horribly they butcher GoF the movie, since there's obviously alot of crap in there Warner Bros will NOT want to show, in fear of loosing the little children ticket sales, or having those stupid christian ppl (not all but there are groups) that think the whole series is EVILLLLLLLL!!!

I remember when the books were first getting popular and all these christian groups were going on about how it "promotes witchcraft and leads to satinism" or some other such rubish.

When approached to sign a petition I simply replied, "any book that gets children to read these days should be praised, not insulted".

I live in the south guys, the SOUTH. As in the Southern states of the USA. That means baptist. Lots of agrivating baptist. The Southern Baptist make the meanest ruler weilding nun look like soft-core porn star. And the Fundamentalist Baptist are even worse.

As I told a friend of mine, I'm Methodist. We have God and beer.

Now off religion and back onto the books. In HBP I was curious as to if the crucio would show up on Harry's wand. I look back through GoF and saw where they did the "Prior Incantato" and it only showed the last spell cast. Only the last one. So as long as Harry did something else afterwards, then he should be fine.

I honestly don't know what to expect with the next book. I only wish that either the 16th would hurry up and get here, or I could find a copy online to read till I get my book.

My HBP Theory: Harry gets married to Ginny.

Now, before you stab me to death with a spoon for suggesting such a Blasphemous theory, there is a fair bit of evidence to suggest this.

As you can see in Exhibit 1 (the cover of HBP), Harry is wearing a ring on his finger. Now, I can think of four possible reasons why he would be wearing a ring.

One; Gilderoy Lockart makes a return, and wearing Jewelry becomes a fad at Hogwarts. Two; the ring has special magical powers, and belonged to Lilly Evans who was really the heir of Grindelwald. Three; the cover artist got really high one night and thought a ring would be cool. Four; Harry gets married to Ginny, and the ring is his wedding ring.

It can therefore be concluded that Harry gets married to Ginny in HBP.
