Hoping you guys can help me identify a fic I read a few years back.

It involved a Harry who was frozen inside a crystal of some kind and floating out in space. I remember him being released on a science vessel and then taking over a pirate vessel and having a female first officer.

That's all I can remember, can anyone point me in the right direction?

This fic has so good worldcrafting (the planet politics and back history) and so much random retarded shit
like Harry raping a bunch of womyn and getting raped with a strap-on by one of his rape victims in return

Wow, that does sound pretty retarded.

What about the world-building did you like?

Most of all I enjoyed the little touches that added authenticity. How the solar system became a new earth within 1000 years, all planets colonised and beefing with each other for resources, prestige and power. The animosity and power plays between factions and families. Piracy. Science. The characters' backstories. The planets' history and customs (the indepence struggle of Mars!), and how they all evolved differently from each other, to the point that a Terran and a Martian could never be the same two people.

The bits about spaceships; weapon systems and defence systems and communications and so on.

    My absolutely favorite part was
Harry's visit to Earth and how it had become a capitalist utopia/nightmare, bereft of government, ruled by megacorporations

It shows that the guy had a vision about this world and he designed it to the point of obsession.

In the end, I kept reading not so much to see what Harry does next, but to catch more glimpses of this interesting world.

I'll admit you've sold me to the story.

    Checking it out.

If you can stomach all the graphic rape and the fact that Harry is the biggest unlikable fucktard you have ever read about, then yeah its a pretty good story.

    He gets better.
Everything good and bad in this story can be summarised by this sentence: "An imaginative and inspired author had no plot or goal when writing a story".
What it means is that it stumbles from one crisis to another, with some great ideas and decent characterisation, which change constantly. For example Harry starts overpowered, but gets seriously depowered in the first few chapters to the point of being just another asset, rather than a power onto himself. Each plot point introduced is dropped after some time for another one.
What this story does well, is that it is kept moderate. It doesn't escalate too quickly and therefore does not go into the realm of DBZ instanity. Harry's powers are constrained, his ship is never overpowered. Whenever he finds a 50 mm gun, his enemies have a 120 mm smoothbore cannon. It keeps the story entertaining. What it lacks is structure and a clearly defined plot.

I am pretty sure the author removed all the graphic scenes. So, you can read it.
