Something nice I found on Ficwad. My standards may be much lower than most of you guys but I personally rate as 4.5/5... Well, time to let you guys have a look and rip into me if you have to... Well, I'm not so sure about the Angst part anyway... Seem more like romance but what the heck, since the Author put it as Angst I will just follow him coz it is HIS story anyway...

Read this one awhile ago and it's pretty decent for this type of story. The concept is a little different, and the characters are a little OOC, but interesting nonetheless. I just can't get over the shit they constantly feed Dumbles. I mean, hell, I read the newest chapter and almost spit coffee all over my laptop and that's damn near a first. 4.5/5

Thanks for recommending this. I'd read it somewhere before, but I forget where. My favorite part had to be PinkFloyd!Hat. Here's to hoping jbern can continue his own haberdasherial baddassery.

I've been following this story since it's creation. I enjoy it, and while not all that much is happening so far; it keeps me entertained. I'd give it a solid 4/5.

I'm enjoying this one as well. My only major criticism so far is that the author went to the trouble of extending the date into a second day, but then skipped telling the story of that day. I would suspect that a pureblood's reaction to a muggle amusement/themepark could be quite amusing. Instead, we skip forward to Tracey and the Know-It-All.

    Still, I think 4/5.

My favorite is the BS story about the power of Love that defeated Voldemort LOL The hat thing was awesome, but that story nearly made me crack a rib.

    Breeding Trio, lulz.

I'm still on the first chapter, but I like the detached view Harry has towards the offers.

"Gentlemen, art of this quality is to be shared."

I agree. Chapter 2, conversation with Dumbledore, pure win.

You'll think its a car crash and be unable to look away, but fear not. The cake is not a lie.

Edit: Overall it's meh. A few parts with some serious original win, but mostly bland, unfunny "Harry is the perfect man" crap.

3.5/5 - I'd like to see it in the trash bin, but not totally deleted. Maybe transpose the win passage in chapter 2 onto some thread somewhere...

The story is great. Certainly belongs in the library, no matter if it's Humor or Romance. And of course, it caters to the Greengrass fanbase.

    4.5/5

I'm liking it. I'm not usually one for a strictly romance fic but this one has Harry/Daphne goodness, so it's working out well.

    4/5

Hmm, nice lite read here. I was skeptic when I first heard about this story, but I truly glad that I went ahead and gave reading it a shot. Not a 5* piece by any means, but enjoyable nonetheless. I'll personally give what I have read so far a 4/5.

With that said, there is potential for an epic story or an epic piece of shit. Hopefully the author will not disappoint.

Relaxing light plot, sporadically good humour and a solid writing style. Not bad, at least for a casual reading.

My main beef with this story is the type of romantic writing it's pushing and which is basically the same, if less verbose, style as Jeconais. It seems this author's idea of teenage flirting is honest and concise exchange of information. Harry tells Daphne exactly how he feels, in several long, elaborate sentences and then Daphne returns the favour. There are no misunderstandings, no arguments, no selfishness, no chitchat. As a result, Harry and Daphne seem more like a pair of Victorian lords discussing foreign trade over some fine Indian tobacco and a glass of port, than anything remotely close to a passionate teens falling in love.

So, a definite fail on the romantic front, at least for me. Luckily the rest of the story makes it up, to an extent.

It's a nice read, at least. I've run into this type of story before and usually end up stumbling over the horrific spelling and terrible grammar. I do, however, hope we find out exactly what led to the split and just why Dumbles is so obsessed with finding out how Harry killed Voldemort. 4/5 because it's written much better than the average story and it's holding my attention.

I did not like 1 galleon equalling 75 pounds, and then Harry going off about Muggles being so brilliant with mass production, etc. Think his very pro-Muggle views appear in his other works, but I don't think it'll be a problem here.

It is a humor fic, after all.

And IP82, it seems to me like the author deliberately got out of having to write a conventional romance. Harry declined the Greengrass marriage offer, and let Daphne know that her father had no qualms with offering her as a sex slave. So, it's in her best interests to be cooperative in Harry's romantic endeavors, so she doesn't run the risk of Harry asking for Mr. Greengrass to send the contract again.

Really, it's just Daphne being Slytherin. Ingenious. *shakes head*.

Still doesn't excuse the bastardized romance, which is actually the crucial part of the story. It sounds really bad when phrased like that, but I didn't enjoy it less for it.

I'll agree with that, especially since the canon exchange rate is five pounds to a galleon.

I like it, simply cause of the dumble/weasley/draco bashing. Also the Daphne, can never go wrong with Daphne ;).

I quite like this. Like ip82, the romance irks me a bit. It's not realistic. This is the type of thing I set out to avoid in my own work.

Beyond that though, I did not waste my time reading it. 3.5./5, down from 4 due to the romance.

That passage would be what I use to induce vomiting when I've found that, once again, I've mistaken the antifreeze for Kool-Aid.

The fact that she mentions wondering how she ended up in that situation pressed the 'magical tampering' button in my brain, but sadly it seems she's acting of her own (oh so retarded) volition.
