This was actually the very first Harry Potter fan fiction I read, and as such, it holds a special place in my heart.

On the other hand, I don't remember who exactly said it, and I'm too lazy to hit the back button to find, but the person who said he is inconsistent with his writing but it best. Starts out kind of crappy (The entire first chapter made me cringe), then gets good, and now we have the last few chapters that are mediocre at best. I anticipate new chapters for this story, mostly only to see if it will get better again, which I do think it will.

Although Fleur finally being brought into the picture made me quite happy, even if it's only for a few chapters, after which we won't see her for a long...long time.

Seeing as I'm jumping around a bit, I'll just go ahead and finish with my rating. Overall, I'd give the story a 3.5/5.

I also actually do like his OC's, despite obvious cliches.

While this fic isn't what I'd call excellent writing, by any means, it's a bit of a 'guilty pleasure' fic for me. I generally prefer something more... -frown- well-written? I like a lot of the plot points, and even like most of his OC's, but inconsistency in writing style, and the decidedly emo-moments tend to annoy me at times.

However, I do like Ravenclaw!Harry, and Harry's power seems to come more from excessive study and drive to find a cure than a typical 'woke up on 16th birthday with uber-leet magical powers inherited from merlin, slytherin, gryffindor, etc.

I await the development of Fleur, and will continue to read this fic as the author updates...but it really could use some editing/tidying up, in general consistency of writing.

Overall, I'll give it a 4, though if intelligent/sarcastic Harry isn't something you like, I'd advise staying away from this fic.

The latest chapter is up, with some more Harry/Fleur interaction. Somewhat jumpe into but relatively believable. Archie's work seems to be set to take a turn for the more interesting.

A lot better than the last chapter I think.

The last chapter is much better than the other two. But it makes you wonder how fast is this guy writing? He put out three fairly long chapters in a little over a week.

The Harry/Fleur interaction was much better than expected.

Aye, last two chapters have been better, but I still suspect he will decline in a couple chapters again.

Even with the improvement, there were still some WTF? moments.

The new chapter was...interesting. At least the author has moved away from the normal insta-fail mechanics associated with H/F. None of that giggly love bullshit.

It's been updated. New chapter was semi-ok I didn't really have any problems with it. A little bit more Harry/Fleur interaction which wasn't too bad though Fleur seems intent on her feelings a little too quickly.

Archades and Harry gathering the ingredients is finally looking to become more important which is good, I think it's a great thing for this story.

I totally agree on that Fleur's feelings are developing too quickly, but it's not going to ruin the story for me, so whatever. Hopefully with the beginning of the tournament, the story will start to pick up a bit more.

My only question is when did Harry get the Elder wand? I don't remember such an event taking place.

Edit: Read back and found out where it came from. Thanks anyways Math.

Harry got the elder wand from Ollivander...he isn't the boy who lived therefore he didn't get the brother wand, Neville did. Dumbledore gave the elder wand to Ollivander instead of keeping it. It explains why Harry can do magic outside of school, because the elder wand can't be traced.

The newest chapter was a little better than the previous few, here is hoping the Tri-wizard tournament is entertaining, even without Harry around to particpate.

Man there are so many reasons to trash bin this fic (the newest chapter breaks out the MacBook Pro, satellite hacking, and Palm pilot) but it's hard to deny the guilty pleasure enjoyment I get from reading it. It's fun. It's full of indefensible suckitude (cliched vampire friends, guitar playing, a couple months of practice and Harry basically single-handedly wins the Quidditch World Cup) but that doesn't change the fact that it's still immensely more fun than it is annoying.

And the pace at which the chapters are coming out is fan-fucking-tastic.

I was a little put off by the near copy and paste from GOF stuff, and I'm really unsure if Harry's going to be forced into the tourney, Neville the Boy-Who-Lived is going to be forced, or what. Is Cedric getting in or will the goblet spit out Harry? I can see Neville getting portkeyed away for Voldie soup rebirthing fun and Harry saving his ass out of there.

I'm really not sure how Harry's going to be involved. I like that Cedric's eager to enter and win for the glory of Hufflepuff, but even he'd admit Harry's twice the wizard he is. So... I dunno.

Some very humorous parts, a burgeoning Harry/Fleur romance that's already better than most (I think because right now, Harry's so incredibly indifferent to her), some pretty interesting and original ideas, a few generic twists on cliches, a number of OCs that are decently fleshed out and likable, and a really long fic so you can skim the parts that feel like the author is like a teenager behind the wheel for the first time (computers, hacking, Hotel California, Sirius' attitude, Harry's super-duper-super-ness).

While it resonates everything I like about Trash Bin fics, I feel obliged to round up and give it 4/5.

I've been following this fic for a few months, ever since chapter 10 or so. When i first started reading I though, "Eh... It's better than 95% of other fanfiction", so i continued reading. I think that was a good choice. Don't get me wrong, i don't think this story is perfect, far fucking from it. It's fairly clichéd and there is some shit that makes me want to retch, but the cool shit outweighs the bad. I like how Harry studies to become more powerful, rather than uber off the shelf pwnage. I really like how he has a specialized field rather than the stories where he pwns in everything. Transfiguration is a rarely detailed field of magic, and I like what he's doing with it in the story.

I like the character interaction quite a bit, and i like the OC's a fair amount. Fleur was always a blank slate, and I enjoy how he characterized her. Rather than the ditzy blond, she has at least some intelligence. I think her feelings are moving a little fast, but the writer seems to be pulling it off alright.

The update rate on this story is fucking fantastic. An update a week? I'd read my immortal if it updated that frequently. Well maybe not, but something to read is something to read, maybe it'll eventually become worth it?

In summation, while this story isn't perfect, it's an enjoyable read that shouldn't cause you to hate yourself for reading it.

    Reccomended 3.5/5

I almost gave up after reading the first few, i mean seriously Guitar!Harry, OC best friends. But i continued for the Harry/Fleur and i can say its definitively worth it, Super!Harry is a guilty pleasure of mine ;).

His other story is also another favorite of mine.

I don't get it, this story is rated as FOUR STARS. So why is it still in the recycling bin?

Damn you, I thought there was an update. To answer your question: it is, technically, a shit cliché story. Guilty pleasures do not good writing make.

SKsniper128: Technically it's only rated 3.5 stars. They just round up.

I admit that I as well view this story as a guilty pleasure. There are quite a few cliche moments, but, overall, I really enjoy reading it for some reason. Hopefully the Harry/Fleur pairing will be done well. A good Harry/Fleur is always a plus for a story.

The way things are going up and down, I don't think it's stable enough to go in the library. The story could turn into a 2/5 in only a few chapters, with the way this author works.

I have yet to even vote because I am waiting for the story to become stable in writing and plot.

This fic has been getting some good reviews lately but I hit the red X when guitarhero!Harry came out.

Before I man up and read the thing, does the guitar make another appearance?

That is the main reason that so many trashed this fic in the beginning, including me, because of the first chapter. If you can suffer through the first couple chapters, it gets better, though the guitar gets mentioned a few more times before disapearing all together.
