Frankily, I'd go. Sure, diagon alley and hogsmead will probably just be a bunch of stores selling ridiculously overpriced crap.

Harry Potter wands, A $120 authentic Firebolt TM, wizarding robes for the kids to dress up in... candies from Weaslies wizard Weezes that turn peoples tongues blue... the list goes on.

    thats expected.

But I wouldn't mind visiting if they built the theme park well. I mean they really built a respectabel castle and village, like in the drawings they posted. You could actually explore the entire area. go visit Myrtles bathroom, find a slide that leads you down to a tunnel to the chamber of secrets... find secret passages that lead you to other sections of the castle or secret rooms with activities and shit.

You know a recreation of hogwarts from the books. Not some crap dinky little charicature of a castle.

Obviously they can't build an exact replica, but if they make a decent effort, It would be worth it for me.

As for possible rides... A grigotts ride to take you to a vault, maybee jets of fire to simulate dragons... the whole sh'bang. If they can build those mock sets for the movies, they might as well invest into the attraction and do it justice.

They need to make it a theme resort/casino, like the Excalibur in Vegas or something if there'd be even the slightest hope of having it be reasonably well done. Otherwise it'll be a massive and complete disappointment to the kids that go there... and thus will fail to draw repeats... and thus fail to sustain itself.

I think I'm with the majority here... it'll be a flop after the 7th book is out for a year.

Yeah, it'll be like the Harry Potter area at Movie World (Australia). When we got round there, there was a little shop selling bits of plastic made to look like wands for $10 and stuffed owls, along with the "Hogwarts Express" which was the front bit of a red train with cardboard cutouts of the trio waving.

If it's a decent ride though, I don't care how it's themed. What's the difference between your average rollercoaster, and a rollercoaster with broomsticks painted on the side and a sign saying 'Catch the Golden Snitch'? Nothing. It might go okay. I don't know, I doubt I'll go to Florida just to check.

I think that it is a waste of money but I would have to go and see it for myself.

I don't know, just imagine the possibilities, such as having a live version of The Office acted out lol.

As for it being a waste of money, there's a lot of thing's I would label the same. Fun is meant to be a waste of money, and we knew that JKR was a sell out anyway, so it's not like it's destroyed our opinion of her.
