Well, yeah, it has good points, but a lot of bad ones too, namely, overused cliches. To name a few:

    1. Super Harry

    2. Lily as pureblood. Not as bad, mind you)

    3. Picks up guitar and is musical genius.

    4. Suddenly loves Hermione.

I'm sure there are more, but I don't want to list them. But still, it has plent of good points. But it did sorta fall from grace.

Yeah, but's been a while since I read the fic. Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Liek I said, I'm sure there are others.

Sure, it's Independant Harry, ut he still gets bossed around by Herman and Ginslut.

Fleur and the hot Vampire chick, on the other hand, don't tell him what to do and what not to do. The two of them make for an awesome pairing, but throwing Herman and Ginny in there was not such a great idea.

As i think i said before, Indeendant!Harry cannot coexist with Herman or Ginny. THey are too demanding, bossy and all-round inquisitive. In all Indie fics that feature ships with the two of them, Harry invariably begins to listen to them within a few chaps of the ship starting.

And the last few chaps have devolved into pointless action. I love the fic, don't get me wrong, but the only things i can't stand are the pointless action and the Herm/Gin bit. It's sort of like Honks by Volans...the whole plot shifts from independance and a few fights into entirely random fights where they 'pop' into battle and rout a hundred and fifty DE's.

I love Super!Harry. I love it long time, and i don't care much for cliche's as long as the story is well written and features a Harry that is believable or at the very least not extra-terrestrial. Highbrass' fic shows this quite well, and i'm more than willing to keep reading it despite the Instant!Musician Harry and the other cliche's.

Yeah, I see your point. there really isn't anyway Independent!Harry can be with either Ginny or Hermione unless she's OOC.

Yeah, if Highbrass would sit down and rework the last few chapters, in might turn into a great fic. Well, here's hoping.

I'd say give it a shot, and form your own opinion. Some of it was very good, some of it was very bad, and other parts were just plain 'acceptable'. The beginning, from what I remember, is something to read in anycase.

Like I said, try it, but don't go expecting too much.

Now if someone is interested in what this fic is all about, here's a description from one of its fans. Notice the average mental level of readers that are attracted to the stories like this.

im looking for a fic with harry getting a week long time tuner and he
travels the world in america he meets elfs and helps save them and in
asia he meets a silver dragon and 3 ancients a phoenix, dragon and
griffan and the ministy crew all 6 are friends and he makes them
swords that are damn powerful so if anyone nos this fic please put a
    link.

It's spread out over 160,000+ words though. In terms of sort of borrowing great ideas from other fics and then compiling them all into your own super-fic, this story is a bit guilty. Arguably too many powers, too many amazing one-time situations, too strong of the characters (everyone blood-bonded with a different ancient vampire clan leader and became uber!versions of themselves). Harry does have himself most of the girls, while Ron gets the muggle hotel concierges on occasion.

But let's not go too far and call this stained-future exactly.

It's sort of halfway stained in comparison, I'd say. In the ways stained-future may fail to tell a story that compels many of us, I think the ideas and themes we like are there. Many here are probably closet stained-future fans, or at least in a way that his fics are the sort of train wreck we're fascinated to follow and quick to poke fun at. This is in that sort of vein, but not quite on stained's scale. Yet. If more new powers, abilities, creatures pop up, then I may need to revisit this assessment. But this isn't awful, and it's easy to mock. (I mean here's this immortal all powerful ancient god dragon of a sort, and Harry's explaining to him how to use the internet to gather information? Really? Hmm... okay.) So take that for what you will. I'm still enjoying reading it though not always for the right reasons.

At first I liked it - it was fun and original.

Then came the elves. That was WTF moment, with all the LOTR names appearing and the swords and shit like that, but I said OK, he'll get over it and it'll be cool again.

Then came bunch of other stained shit - more swords, super friends, super powers, yet more swords, gifts left and right, more super powers, music bands, few more swords, harem, few more super powers, soul mates/slaves etc... In short, a trainwreck spread over 100,000 words. At that point, I figured I might still be able to read it, if I start skipping all the crappy/mushy stuff.

A month ago, I just finished reading his latest chapter and I suddenly realized that I skipped around 90% percent of the text and finished 10K chapter in 5 minutes - I read only some kind of duel with Umbridge and skipped everything else. That's when I realized this story is not for me - level of furstration is simply way to great to keep looking for last vestiges of cool stuff this story once had.

you finally noticed that now! sorry.

i find the story stupid especiallly thta involves too many swords and shit that you were talking about.

i donèt read many stories as before because there arent that many believable story in FF. its sad that most 90% is made up of ginny fans, slash fans, stained future fans and what not. its kinda sad. :(

Yea, the sword thing really kills it. That's one of the biggest cliches around. Not neccesarily swords, but him getting some weapon other than a wand. Personally, if there is a gonna be that cliche, I prefer it when he becomes badass with a gun. I luv imagining the puzzled look on his victim's face just before he pulls the trigger. :headshot:

    Mwu-hahahaha.

I thought the fic was good up until he left the Vampires. Even his bonding to them seemed a little much, though I did apreciate the idea that the Basalisk Venom was still in his system, and in a way enhanced his reflexes and overall speed. The daggers were cool, until he started using them to mass Obliviate the entire world (ok, it was a crowd, but still...) At the point when he started saying that the daggers were a joke compared to what he could do, I just started skimming the chapters to see how a decent/good fic can turn into something that reminds of a Spiderman clone Arc. Just too much too much.

And as a side note, I love how impossibly powerful he is, but he still didn't manage to kill big bad green.

This fiction always has been worth the time to read it. It really draws you in to the story. The only problem I can see is that this story is very seldom updated its bean at least three months since this story has been updated.

My final thought it is read the story and then wait for updates.
