Lorelei's Challenge #1- The Three Brothers

This challenge contains spoilers for the 7th book.

Summary-

"'So it's true?' asked Harry. "All of it? The Peverell brothers-'
'- were the three brothers of the tale," said Dumbledore, nodding. 'Oh yes, I think so. Whether they met Death on a lonely road... I think it more likely that the Peverell brothers were simply gifted, dangerous wizards, who succeeded in creating those powerful objects. The story of them being Death's own Hallows seems to me the sort of legend that might have sprung up around these creations.'" Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, pg. 714

Write a story about the three Peverell brothers. Describe how they created the powerful Hallows, and what drove them to it.


Rules-
*The only romance is the one between the second Peverell brother and his dead girlfriend.
*Do not include the Hogwarts founders. If you must, use them sparingly.

I know this is not a Harry-centric story, which might discourage a lot of you, but despite them being a bit of a deux ex machina, I find the Hallows interesting. And the rules don't say that Harry can't be thrown back in time or that this can't be an AU...
