X-man's challenge # 1 based off Manhunt by Rockstar North

The premise is that after HBP Voldemort, takes over the United Kingdom. Sort of like in Shezza's fic. The only exception is that the everybody loses faith in Harry, turning him over to Voldemort. Voldemort decides to give Harry one last fighting chance, He lets Harry become one of the hunted.

When Voldemort took over, He decided to reintroduce muggle hunting. Muggle hunting has become a popular sport everyone competes in it(even the muggles). Usually, if you kill one of the hunted Voldemort rewards you with practically the one thing you ever wanted. This time the reward is huge for whoever catches Harry Potter.

Rules:

-Everybody, and I mean everybody must be after Harry.
- No allies and No ships.
- Harry can't have his own wand, any wand he acquires will stop working after a while for since its not his.
-Harry must use any weapon he can find trash bags, kitchenware, bats, etc. No guns because from what I've heard theres no guns in London.
-Harry must be smart and stealthy.
-No super Harry. He can be as powerful as canon Harry to Jackofdiamonds Harry.
-Must have violent deaths, the kind fanfiction.net would cancel in a heartbeat.
-Voldemort must have a magical death. No cheap throwing knives in the back here.
-Harry must eventually, kill the double crossers that turned him in.

 

That just screams of stupidity. You have to understand, for your convenience, the collective brain count of the Wizarding World cannot drop to 0, or below.

This is a book, a fic, a story. Not some half-baked video game. There has to be depth and reason.

I'm not even going to comment on the rules.

A suggestion. Go to a library and pick up a book that in not Harry Potter, not soft porn and is meant for people above 10-15 years (yes, that includes Noddy). Read that book and see how charectes interact in it.

Or, if you are really brave, go outside and Talk to people and notice how they talk back, what expressions they have, what tone, what body language. Because you are living in Video games.

 

Can you please tell us why are you being so vindictive? Did you had a bad day, your girl/boyfriend dumped you?
I mean, maybe his challenge is not the best but it could be interesting.

Please, just shut up. I can understand you don't like the game, hell i don't like it either but stop being stupid. I can totally see an Harry being hunt by everybody, completely alone, absolutely paranoiac and seeking revenge.

The rules look fine for me.

To The Fine Balance: Frankly you pissed me off, I don't understand how you can come here just for posting stupid message full of insults and basing your opinions of him on a ten lines post. Anyway, no wand?! Thats just hard to imagine Harry without a wand. How the hell is he suppose to help himself and even more so with that amount of people coming after you. It's impossible! The Fine Balance is right in his arguments. Though i disagree with his methods in getting across the message.

Anyway, i would read this fic but it has to be toned town a bit. Nobody can survive like that if you don't even have a single ally to help you, not even Voldemort let alone a kid half his age.

 

There are guns in London, but the police are not all armed. Only specially trained armed responce officers carry firearms. Apart from a few mobile response units, armed officers can really only be found at specific locations, namely airports, places of political import etc.

And as to the challenge. Its stupid, and would make a rubbish fic. Might make a decent video game, but it would make an absolutely rubbish fic.

 

So you want a fic where Harry's hunted by everybody and has no allies?

Try DreamRed's one.

It fits the basic idea and has a much more reasonable explanation. The truth is, your idea doesn't work. After logically tossing aside your requirement that everybody betrays Harry and putting inside the fact that Harry has help, what happens is that this help creates a resistance movement.

Now a fic where Harry fights an underground resistance movement - whose headquarters wouldn't stand a full-scale assault by Voldemort to differ it from Shezza88's fic - is pretty interesting and original. But the idea you've just made isn't the Harry-is-all-alone-and-can't-trust-anybody story you're probably imagining.

 

You could do something like this, but a better source to rip off would The Running Man by Stephen King. Here's how I would do it:

The war is over. Voldemort won. He's taken over the entire government of magical Britain. He also controls muggle Britain, although through some mechanism that doesn't reveal the existence of the magical world to muggles (either he has his own man running the government, has imperio'd everybody who matters, or whatever). No effective resistance to his rule exists; everybody opposed to him is either dead or in prison, and his propaganda machine ensures that no popular support for the previous regime remains.

The hottest new form of entertainment in both worlds is The Running Man (muggles believe that the magic shown on the show is a result of special effects). In the show, a prisoner is released into the outside world to become the Runner. He's given a one week/day/hour head start, and then a special team of Trackers sets out to hunt him down and execute him.

Of course, the Runner labors under a certain set of handicaps. Various measures will be taken to ensure that his apparition is limited/prevented, his wand is impaired somehow, he's carrying some sort of tracking device etc. Be creative. Of course, a particularly capable Runner may be able to evade these limitations, but they're usually too busy keeping themselves alive.

The audience can get involved by phoning a central number to report the location of the Runner, and receive a reward for doing so, or for otherwise helping to capture the Runner.

The show has been a great success; Voldemort found the death of Minerva McGonagal to be particularly satisfying. But now they're looking to step it up a notch, bringing out the ultimate Runner, the butcher of Hogsmeade, Harry Potter himself...

Have you ever read any Azkaban fic in which Harry was abandoned by all his friends that made sense? Truly, pointing to Azkaban fics for logical character development is like pointing to Trident for originality.
