A new movie that's coming out in 2013 - it's got a storyline based on the '92 game. Slightly corny, but I can see this being far, far better than the supernatural outworld stuff from the old movies.

 

1st one was good, 2nd completely sucked ass, 3rd, hopefully, would be as good as 1.

 

They killed Johnny Cage.

 

Don't worry about it.

Maybe they'll keep him alive for longer than the start of the movie. Hopefully they retool Sub-Zero from what he looks like now.

I was sort of hoping to see some shadow kick goodness from Cage before he got pwned.

 

While I have no doubt I am going to see this because I love Mortal Kombat, I'm not sure how I feel about this heaping dose of realism they are throwing into this. Barraka is a doctor who cracked up? Reptile is some guy with a disease? I see either hit or miss with this.

Episode 1 is out. 12 mins long.
Can't really judge it on this but will hopefully go on to be awesome.

 

I like seeing people I have only seen on Battle Star Galactaca on random shit like this.

 

Average and 'meh', but worth following.

Sonya's characterization was way too soft; she looked like she was about to wet herself in fear when she was chained up.

But seriously, I was rather excited when I saw this on YouTube. I prefer the mini-series format to feature films - more time to work with and flesh out subplots, while not turning into the "well, now what?" format that plagues any series going longer than 4 seasons (e.g. Smallville).

I'm very optimistic about this...which means I'll probably be one of the loudest ragefaces if this bombs out.

Awesome. The dialog is a little cliche at times and I think Sonya shot the same guy in the head three times but I like it.

Can't wait for Scorpion to make his appearance.

Episode 3.

Good shit, is all I can say.

They've actually given Jonny Cage a decent and realistic characterization, and the ending gives a good hint to there being supernatural elements in this - it isn't just strictly grounded in reality (see Reptile and Barraka's origins in this compared to their movie/other media origins, for example).

Looking forward to the uncensored version on Friday.

 

I wish there was some way to subscribe to just this series of movies. Fucking Machinima has 14 thousand videos, and probably puts up 50 a day. I shouldn't have to subscribe to the rest of the shit on their channel.

I tried subscribing here, but they don't put the videos up there as soon as they are released and that page doesn't put them on my main page.
