Something that I haven't seen before.

Harry descovers that his animagus form is a Boggart. Because he is an animagus he actually has long term memory and can recall previous transformations and duplicate them.

In a confrence with Dumbledore, Harry discovers that Dumbledore's worst fear is an immortal Voldemort. Harry gets all of Voldemort's memories, experiences, and power. He can't be killed.

Suggestion: Have someone eventially kill him by finding out his secret and using "Rediculous".

 

That could only work as a rather ridiculous one-shot. That part with receiving Voldemort's knowledge by emulating his appearance is just too unrealistic for a serious story.

Boggarts take the shape of the thing you fear most, they dont actually become it.

 

I have to agree that I didn't come across sth. like this before. But the boggart just copies the appearance of your worst fear and the influence it has on others (Dementors). That doesn't mean, that Harry's boggart could suck the soul out of somebody. Hence Harry as boggart could just appear as Voldemort, but can't really do all the magic Voldemort can. That's at least my opinion.

 

Maybe, but I think it was entirely possible that Harry's boggart could suck out someone's soul. We never saw anything to argue against that.

I agree that this would never be able to be a full length fic, but a decent writer could pull off a serious fic if they tried.

 

I would think that Remus would have never allowed Harry to use his boggart to practice the patronus charm if it could acually suck his soul out.

This could turn into a pretty amusing Godlike!Harry parody.

 

This could be very funny, IMO. I can't see it being a serious story, but I think in the hands of nonjon, or Blot, this could turn out to be a very good humor fic.

 

What would Voldemort's worst fear be? Death? I suppose Harry could play pranks on his enemies. It would be pwnage in a fight against death eaters.

If a death eater's worst fear was... basilisks, and Harry changes to a basilisk would he be able to own them, or is the form not solid?

 

I like the Boggart being his animagus form aspect of this challenge, everything else is Bleh.

Wow...i actually think this is an excellent idea.

I'd love to see a story like this. The tragic ending would just make it even better, with a simple 3rd year spell ending the life of a man who could be anything, and had everything.

Fantastic idea, DarthBill. Super!Harry has never been super in such an awesome, believable way. Immortal!Voldemort, possessing awesome knowledge and incredible, godlike power...even INFINITE power, would have a mindset so uniquely powerful that it could take over Harry's mind. We've seen the idea of an animagus form having to be mentally defeated, to establish control over the form...this takes that one step forward, with Harry actually losing to the animagus mentality...which is the mentality of Immortal!Voldemort.

Seriously, i would love to read this fic if a competent, skilled author wrote it. I'd love to write it too, but i can't promise anything more than a oneshot.

Wow...this really could be the greatest action/adventure and tragedy fic ever, if written correctly.

As far as i recall, the boggart DOES possess the magical and physical properties of the thing it transforms into...the Dementor!Boggart is able to call up the memories and the cold feelings when Harry practices on it.

Raven: It doesn't need to be Voldie's power. Albus fears Voldemort attaining immortality and omnipotence...and that is what Harry turns into. A god...with power that doesn't need to take the shape of any human magic. It could very simply be magic in its purest form, just doing what Harry tells it to. This could turn into a fantastic Dark!Harry fic, and the tragic ending would be incredible.

 

It wouldn't work. A boggart changes shape to whatever is most afraid/closest to it. Just look at the lesson in the book. It changed shape to whoever was at the front of the line. It got confused.
Also, if no one but Harry was around to see it, it wouldn't look like an immortal!Voldemort or a basillisk or a pink, fluffy bunny... erm... forget that.
Anyways, for Harry to be an immortal!Voldemort all the time Dumbles would have to be there All The Time. Couldn't work, but a good try.
As well as that, Harry wouldn't lose his battle with the immortal!Voldemort, just the animal, a boggart. He'd become reclusive, sticking to dark and dingy places... Like the Slytherin Commonroom?

 

No...what i meant is this:

Albus, being Light!Albus, is teaching Harry how to become an Animagus. Harry learns with him, and eventually makes the transformation in FRONT of him.

Dumbledore's worst fear is Immortal!Omnipotent!Voldemort, and Harry transforms into that.

Now...we know that a Boggart can replicate magical powers. So this Boggart does that, only one thing goes wrong for it (Harry):

The Immortal!Omnipotent!Voldemort's personality is too powerful. Harry loses control, and the Voldemort personality, drawing on its super, godlike powers, freezes its form. Now, the Boggart doesn't transform into different things anymore. It is Voldemort now, only far greater, and more terrifying.

Of course, it would have to kill Dumbledore before leaving the room, or it would be all too easy to defeat it.

I thought up the Boggart idea when I was mowing. I started running through a story in my mind where Harry turns into Immortal!Evil!Voldemort because that's Dumbledore's fear. But because he is an intellegent creature, he can choose to stay in one form, or recall past forms, instead of just turning into whatever the person he is concentrating on fears most.

I know I could never do a story like this justice, so I posted it.

 

Please, don't make my mind go numb and make Harry become an Immortal!Evil!Voldemort, and actually have the ability to choose to stay in that form and kick ass. That would ruin the story. Oh wait, that's an interesting idea actually... Ahem.

Otherwise an excellent plot bunny, and even though you don't think you can do this story justice, you should try your best. Be optimisitic, it was your idea so you should at least take a crack at it.

 

Nah, I'm already way to slow with updates with my current fic. I'm not going to start a new one.

I only say that he chooses to stay in that form because that is the only way that he will remain such a threat to the world. And it makes it all the better when some weak character (third-year or such) defeats him by turning him into a fluffy bunny, or something.
