Tom Riddle
This is pre-cannon. I'm magically powerful, amazingly bright and I'm Slytherin's heir, so every Slytherin is waiting to be ordered around by me. Slughorn has infinite contacts and he's willing to put them all at my disposal. I can do anywhere I want with that abundance of talent, even without my charisma. the world will bow before me.

Voldemort
This is the cannon version. You might think it odd that I take two versions of the same guy, but I think their potentials are so far apart that they can be taken as two separate people.
Sure, most of the wizarding world hates me about now, but most will bow down before me rather than stand against me, so that's fine. My horcruxes are out there, and even if a few have been destroyed, I'm still immortal. I've got a bunch of groveling followers who'll do whatever I ask of them, and that is quite a bit seeing they're some of the brightest of their generation. I'm above the law, as the aurors can't get near me, and so I can do whatever the hell I want to.
There might be some lucky kid prophesied to kill me, but I'm sure I can find my way around that, especially since the prophecy just says one of us will die, and doesn't specify which one.


Albus Dumbledore
(Before he dies)
I'm the recognized leader of the wizarding world, even if it's not official. The Ministers come to me for advice, everyone believes in me, I can do whatever i want with my subtle manipulations. I have the power to save people and I have the power to condemn them, once I say something, the wizarding world generally listens.
I am the smartest, most powerful wizard of my generation. I am the only person Voldemort has ever feared. I am the headmaster of Hogwarts, and shape the minds of every wizard and witch born in Britain.
I also have a bloody brilliant Phoenix as a familiar. Fawkes can heal me, teleport me through the strongest wards and can never die. Wonderful to have an ally who can take a killing curse for me, and live to do it again.


Sorting Hat
I have lived through the centuries, and carry Godric Gryffindor's sword. I have the power to make or break every student to ever enter Hogwarts.

Severus Snape
I've just killed Albus Dumbledore, I shall be rewarded beyond my wildest dreams.

 

My faves?

Number one would probably be Tom Riddle, not Lord Voldemort. Cool, calm, collected, intelligent, sinister without being blatantly visible about it, the poster child for Dark Harry stories.

Two would have to be Bellatrix Lestrange. I suppose its just my inner-psycho coming out. She was cool until book 6, but I still hold hope for the return of pwnage.

Three would be Harry Potter, for as much of a cock as he is during the Hogwarts years, he can be a sarcastic little bastard at home. Now only if that attitude would transfer over to Hogwarts.

Four is probably Fenrir Greyback. A nice blank dark creature Dark character to play with that you know is rather vicious.

Five is more than likely Dumbledore. For all the shit he gets, he is probably one of the most fleshed out characters in the book. An infintely interesting character on numerous levels.

 

I can't say I'd want to live the life of another person (I like my own life better, if for no other reason than that it is my own), but if I were to take the place of an HP character, they would be:

#1. Lord Voldemort
Dumbledore may be more powerful than me, but, unlike him, I get to actually use my power. Plus, I know a lot of cool Dark magic stuff Dumbledore doesn't. Plus, Dumbledore is dead, and I can't be.

#2. Albus Dumbledore
I'm the most powerful and respected wizard alive, I'm filthy rich, I have a cushy job, and I can get away with anything! What more could you want?

#3. Mad-Eye Moody
I'm a hardened fighter who takes no shit from anybody and is very difficult to catch off guard. Plus, I have a cool magical eye!

#4. Fred or George Weasley
I'm simply cool. That counts for something, doesn't it?

#5. Gilderoy Lockhart
I know how to make the best use of my abilities (meager though they may be).
