The ones on Narutofan are extremely talented and have actually cleared up many misunderstandings in the past. The problem, like you said,comes from the fact that you can't directly translate so it is best to try and get the meaning across but in some cases people overanalyse translations and cause an uproar over miniscule things.

 

You're coming off a bit full of yourself. Please tone it down. I can understand where you're coming from but I think you're sending the wrong message. You don't have to get angry at us, we are as you say, just the English audience. We don't know the exact interpretations, and as such can become confused by the wording.

The smallest things can be badly mistaken when worded badly. I misunderstood the tenses, don't get your knickers in a twist.

There only humans who follow up the rumors just as much as anyone else does. Lutris Argutiae says that he is Madara and you know what, it's all speculation. Half the others says he is Obito. They are nothing more than rumors and future chapters are the only way to prove whats right or wrong.

Tobi being Madara is not speculation. Look, you're saying that you have as much right because it's in english. Understandable but look how wrong you're getting it even though it's in your own language.

The phrase was translated, like i've been saying, to dramatise the scene. Madara referred to himself in the 3rd person like classical villains. This caused confusion because people started saying that it's not Madara. Upon which the translators decided to clarify, that the literal meaning is like "I am Uchiha Madara" basically, but they wanted to get the effect across.

I never got confused as didn't many others but look at how ignorant you're being about it. Even though i clarified, you still refuse to accept it.

Tobi is Madara, that's his true identity and that's what Kishimoto wrote in the manga.

It's hard to tell what exactly you're trying to mean by your use of 'right'. Right to what? Right to translate right? Right to understand? To right?

From what I see of your posts, you've not clarified what the 'right' you refer to is to.

Besides, I've never put the translators on a pedestal, nor intended to, or raise them up to a god-like status. It seems like though the only thing we're disagreeing on right now is this thing about the 'right' to something you seem intent on arguing about.

I'll just assume it's the right to determine what's correct and what's not, judging by what we seem to be arguing about.


And all of the Japanese sites, blogs, hell, even Wikipedia all agree on the consensus that Tobi is Uchiha Madara.

Though that's not any real concrete proof, it certainly lends credit to the theory, as most, if not all of the serious Japanese Naruto fans (at least, those available on the internet), are in general agreement that Tobi IS Madara.

Is that what it was translated as? Then it IS a bit different from what I interpreted it as; it's a little easy to misconstrue.


And I apologize for biting into the matter of the relation between Kyuubi and Madara; I hadn't read the whole thread when I replied.

 

I and some others i post on a forum with are split between the Tobi is Madara, and that Tobi is just referencing Madara's sharingan prowess.

 

I´m on this with Vendo, because to me it does seem like Tobi is referring to his powers being like Uchiha Madara, not that he is Uchiha Madara.

This story get´s me cracking. One of the best humor fics i´ve found in the naruto-verse out there. I guarantee you that if you read it, you won´t be disappointed.

 

I still say that Tobi is not Madara. I know for a fact that translator love seeing sign everywhere when there is nothing. And frankly I absolutely don't care what this people think, it's just my opinion and if I am wrong it will be a pity because Kishi will show us(me) how poor of a imagination he has...

 

I think the way Sasuke vastly overpowers Naruto is probably a deliberate choice on the part of Kishimoto. After all, the more powerful the villian is compared to the hero, the worse odds there are, and the closer he comes to losing, the more heroic the victory of the Hero is.

Sasuke is the Death Star to Naruto's X-Wing.
