Why. What. No. Why??

I'm... genuinely disturbed. Why does Pikachu talk like a grizzled action hero? For that matter, why does Pikachu talk?? Who let Pikachu talk??

Every single shot of that trailer looked ridiculous - like, Sonic 2006-levels of ridiculous.

 

This looks really bad. I don't really know what else to say about it other than it looks really bad.

The only saving grace is that Pikachu in this sounds more like the one true Pikachu voice actor, Danny DeVito.

 

I tried to warn you before. In the thread about Pikachu talking in that one movie. I tried to warn you. But you didn't listen.

So, here's my head-canon.

Ash is murdered. Pikachu becomes a detective in order to solve the case. Along the way, he recruits Meowth as a criminal informant and convinces Meowth to help him learn to talk like a human.
