True. I guess I just instinctively gravitated to the characters I was introduced to as a child, compared to getting into Harry Potter around my teenage years.

Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to go with Gomez Addams instead of Wednesday? Having all of these tough guys underestimating Wednesday and getting taken down in various brutal ways would be hilarious.

Good luck to whoever writes this one. With all of those popular characters it looks like it will be a bitch to write them all properly.

I never liked the new version of Wednesday or Addams Family. I always liked the 1964 TV Series version more than the 1991 Film version.

Also, Gomez has all those martial arts skills, which could prove quite flashy for action scenes :awesome

It's not so developed as being a plot bunny but I would love to see a fic that dealt with Victorian wizarding Britain. The setting could be very interesting, especially for political stories. Such an era is ripe for exploring Muggle-wizard relations and the idea of a magical nation state, given that Muggles were rapidly colonising/conquering the world.

Would wizards be secretly working for the East India Trading Company, preventing Indian wizards from throwing British Muggles out?

Would the Indian magical population maintain independence and just keep out of the affairs of their Muggle neighbours, completely detaching magical and Muggle statehood?

Would magical governments organise full scale colonisation to match that of the Muggles?

Lots of interesting ways that could work out.

Visually the era is fun to imagine as well. Everyone assumes wizards have been wearing robes forever, but there's nothing to say that robes haven't come into fashion (or returned to fashion) recently in the wizarding world. (Perhaps connected with the 20th century's rise of radical anti-Muggle sentiment). I'd love seeing wizards in Victorian getup lol.

The real challenge here is of course character creation, as you'd have an entirely OC cast to get the reader invested in.

Maybe even bigger challenge in that would be seeking out differences in that era. In the end, it would come down to questions like "what wore people back then?", "what important people lived?", technology differences, currency, languages, relations between goblins and wizards (rebellions), etc. Maybe that particular idea would be more troubles than it is worth. It would take incredibly good and experienced author pull it off correctly.

Why not simply have the plot of the main books happen ~150 years earlier? That is, in 1841?

Of course, obvious alteration would follow. Especially given Harry's different upbringing (no doubt the Dursleys would be different people). As well as the different upbringing of virtually every muggleborn character.

    ---------- Post automerged 03-01-2014 at 07:08 PM ---------- Previous post was 02-28-2014 at 08:18 PM ----------

I recently hit 1,000 posts and I feel like celebrating.

Here's five Plot Bunnies written for the occasion.

    1. During the train ride before his first year at Hogwarts, Harry sits with Parvati and Padma Patil. He gets two female friends and a different introduction to the world of wizarding children. When Draco interrupts, things don't become so heated, as Patils are a respectable pureblood family. While Draco still doesn't make the best impression, he changes things, Padma is sorted to Slytherin and basically replaces Pansy as Draco's "partner". This creates a rift between the Patil twins and Parvati decides to stick closer to Harry.

    2. When Harry enters the room with the Philosopher's Stone, he discovers that Quirell has been Stunned and an uknown man is standing there with a curious expression on his face. Sirius Black then looks at Harry with shock. "So this is where the Veil leads to, eh?". Poor Quirrel must have been shocked as well, when Black emerged from the Mirror and started casting spells around.

    3. The Delacours were murdered, only their daughters survived. However Gabrielle was kidnapped by the killer who turns out to be a dark wizard from North America. Viktor Krum happened to be in NYC at the time due to his Quidditch career and accidentally discovered Gabrielle being held against her will. He saved her, but now has the criminal underground of the wizarding new york on his tail. Fleur arrives when Gabby sends an owl to her and now the three of them have to deal with the dark wizards themselves.

    4. After Harry stabs the Diary, Riddle completely takes over Ginny's body and escapes to Albania to search for his older counterpart. Snape and Flitwick are sent by Dumbledore to prevent the meeting from happening no matter what. Unknown to them, Harry Potter manages to grab the international portkey from under his Cloak of Invisibility. As time is of the essence, the two Professors decide that arranging a new portkey for Harry would take too long and they take him with them.

    5. Fourth year AU. Moaning Myrtle possesses Lavender after fooling her into performing a ritual which allows this. She decides to become involved with Harry and uses the knowledge she gained in all those years as a ghost to aid him in the tournament.

Is that a challenge? Because it is fairly easy. Simply age Fleur, Gabrielle and Krum by 4 years, make the tournament happen in 1st year. That way you can have Quirrell collaborating with Barty Jr. You can also have Myrtle possessing Lavender easily. Parvati and Padma on the train are easy as well. Finally, Sirius appears at the end and is confused at the AU past.

This actually makes the Mirror of Erised one scarily complex piece of work.

How does it show you your fondest desire? It doesn't just read your mind; it reads it, then finds an alternate reality where that fondest dream actually happened and shows that to you.

Either the Mirror was crafted by the same people that made the Veil; its creators studied the Veil to make the Mirror; or they're completely separate artifacts that are interacting in ways that were neither intended nor foreseen, because they both use similar methods to breach dimensional barriers.

Handled one way, someone gets dumped into the Veil and they pop out of another Veil in an alternate reality.

Conceivably, one mirror could lead to another. Who knows how many realities suddenly had a Philosopher's Stone show up in front of the mirror or vanish from within one. Go ask Alice...

This way, though, maybe the Veil was supposed to be a one way ticket to nowhere, but the creation of the Mirror has somehow caused the two artifacts to become connected. Maybe they interfere with each other's 'transmission' in such a way that what should have been a death sentence in the Veil just causes you to get kicked out in a random reality's Mirror of Erised.

Taken one step further: Since the Mirror can divine your heart's desire, and you're dealing with an infinite number of Mirrors, they can actually 'read' the person coming through the Veil and figure out the best possible reality to place that person.

Or, maybe, through a perverse twist of fate, they do the opposite, stranding the poor bastard in their own personal worst case scenario. The Mirrors have no motive, it's simply a matter of their primary function working or not working, when it comes to the unintended side effect of becoming receivers for victims of the Veil.

Reminds me of plot bunny I had where Quirrell follows Harry as he returns to room where the mirror is held. Recognizing the mirror for what it is, Quirrell destroys it while Harry is ensnared in erised's magic.

The mirror shatters and Harry Potter splits into a thousand little pieces. Harry Potter disappears. The room is locked away as broken shards litter the floor. And without the mirror's protection Voldemort steals the Philosopher's Stone.

Many years have passed under the immortal rule of Lord Voldemort. Hogwarts is still a school for children, but every now and then the castle shutters. Locked away in a room long forgotten, jagged remnants slowly slam into a large golden frame, as the pieces of a mirror meld back together.

The idea was to have a lot of different Harry's in many different worlds. Each piece would represent a different emotion or desire. He would have to obtain his goal, or master himself if the goal is impossible. The entire point would be to have Harry realize that it is not only his soul that came through, but the taint of another. When the mirror repaired itself Harry would be whole again. Facing Voldemort's horcrux would be the last challenge before the mirror releases him as a wizard finally worthy of the parents he so desired.

A flash of inspiration from Warlocke! Thank you kind sir, you have helped create this one!

    The Magical Multiverse

Up until the moment Harry enters the room with the Stone at the end of Book 1, everything goes according to canon. However, when Harry does enter, he is greeted by a most unusual scene. He sees Sirius Black pointing a wand at disarmed Quirrell. The Defense professor is revealed to be the one trying to steal the Stone and Sirius reveals that he is from the future (this is false, but he doesn't know that).

Quirrell suddenly collapses, Voldemort having decided to abandon him in favor of escaping. This happens just in time, as Dumbledore enters the room and sees what is happening. He briefly entertains the thought that Sirius was the one trying to steal the Stone, but he also knows that Sirius Black currently is still in Azkaban.

Future Sirius (as we'll refer to him for now) explains the reason he has appeared and the Veil's role in this mess. He is able to reveal significant future knowledge to Albus, but demands that Harry will learn these things as well. Dumbledore tries to argue, but Sirius is adamant and claims that if Dumbledore doesn't agree, then Sirius will tell Harry everything anyway.

With that kind of ultimatum, Dumbledore is forced to agree and the three of them sit together in the Headmaster's office to hear Black's tale.

He reveals the events of second, third, fourth and fifth years. The Diary, the Chamber, Pettigrew, Lupin, Quidditch World Coup, Triwizard Tournament, Barty Crouch Jr., Harry as the Fourth Champion, Voldemort's return, the Ministry's refusal to believe it, Umbridge as the High Inquisitor and finally Sirius' death.

As per agreement, Dumbledore reveals the Prophecy to Harry during this conversation. All those revelations naturally have quite the effect on Harry, who has to deal with being the only one able to deafeat Voldemort and also knows what would have happend if Sirius did not arrive from the future.

In order to clear Sirius' name, Dumbledore captures Pettigrew from the Gryffindor dormitory and contacts the Ministry. Sirius' role has to be revealed though, through his questioning. While the Original Sirius is released, the Ministry is very interested in the Future Sirius. Especially after the connection between the Mirror and the Veil is revealed.

While the Stone is given back to Flamel (as it is his property after all), The Ministry takes the Mirror of Erised and puts it in the Department of Mysteries to be studied with the Veil. The Unspeakables detect a previously unseen connection, which would have remained unseen if they weren't actively searching for it.

Meanwhile, Fudge is quite horrified by the events which would have happened if not for Future Sirius' arrival. It is quite amusing that one is willing to believe information from 'The Future' and not from the present. Still, this time Fudge doesn't fuck up and immediately authorizes the arrests of people revealed to be Death Eaters by Sirius. The Diary is taken from Malfoy and destroyed, Umbridge is removed from the Ministry and put under investigation for posession of dark artifacts. Crouch's reputation is even more tarnished when Aurors enter his home, arrest him and his hidden son and put the two in Azkaban. Little Hangleton graveyard is visited and certains bones are vanished.

The Dark Lord's future rise is crushed before it even begins. He is still hiding somewhere, probably in Albania, but for now remains powerless.

At the same time, a breakthrough happens at the DoM, as the Unspeakables finally figure out how to replicate the magic Veil/Mirror connection. It is revealed that Sirius did not arrive from the future, but from a very similar alternate universe. New theories are written, magic itself is understood better, but most importantly an efficient way of creating interdimensional portals is developed. The possibilites created by such a discovery are staggering and Fudge, riding on the waves of his recent 'victories', orders the creation of a team to actually visit a different reality.

A team, consisting of some Aurors, Unspeakables, Mediwizards and other specialists is sent through the gate to another universe. This is when the shit goes down, hard. As they arrive in a reality where there was no Prophecy and Voldemort took over Britain and much of Europe.

The team is attacked by AU Death Eaters and a short fight ensues, after which both sides suffer casualties, some team members are captured by the DE's and the others escape back through the gate which is immediately closed.

The reactions back home are less than optimistic, to say the least. Some call for another team to be sent to rescue the captured, others also add that the other reality should be liberated from Voldemort's tyranny. ANd yet there are also calls to abandon the prisoners and gate travel forever. Eventually, thanks to Dumbledore (and Fudge who wants to save face), another, stronger team is sent through the gate to retrieve the people who have been captured.

Even Dumbledore himself travels to aid the rescue party. They are successful, partially, as even though the prisoners are rescued, AU Voldemort learns about gate travel and that is somehow involves the Mirror and the Veil.

Facing the possibility of a future invasion of Voldemort's forces from another dimension, Fudge has no other choice but to reveal the gate travel to other wizarding nations and the wizarding public in order to gather support and resources for defense of this timeline.

Another thing done is the creation of additional teams which will attempt to contact other realities, in order to find potential allies.

Through the following year, other wizarding nations are brought to collaborate with British wizards on the project World Gate, the project is also revealed to the public in order to bring willing and competent wizards and witches. Close to a hundred different alternate timelines are contacted during this year.

Some of the realities are friendly, some neutral and some outright hostile. A reality where Greek Wizards took over Europe during Antiquity and somehow managed to retain their power to modern times, a reality overrun with Dementors, a reality where Goblins and Wizards are equal, a world where the Philosopher's Stone is a common item, a world where everyone can speak to the dead, a world where there is no Statute of Secrecy, a world where everyone knows how to make Horcruxes, a world without magic, an ice age world, a reality where dragons are smart and can talk...

Friendly timelines are invited to a newly created All Worlds Alliance, which represents trade between worlds, mutual defense in case of an attack and other helpful agreements.

Interesting discoveries and inventions happen frequently, thanks to research happening in close to 70 different universes at once. Advanced healing techiques, 'wards' and other magical protections, countless new spells and potions, a cure for lycanthropy, many new magical creatures (including Crumple Horned Snorcacks, Heliopaths, flying Acromantulas and other more disturbing beasts).

Fashion travels fast as well, AU styles changing rapidly with Witches being sometimes unable to keep up (month of December 1993 was Egyptian Craze month).

Tourism received a boost as well. Why bother yourself with the possibility of encountering muggles if you can travel to a world where they don't exist? Simply jump through a gate to a dimension commonly called 'the Tropical Paradise'.

Not all is fun though, signs of another powerful alliance are seen here and there. Once a gate was opened to a reality recently conquered by 19 different Voldemorts, all muggles were exterminated in that world and the muggleborns who remained where used as slaves.

Some worlds are also hostile for other reasons. With strange, dark forces being native to them and willing to push their way to other dimensions.

Still, the future looks bright for the Multiverse.

As for Harry Potter, he is still at Hogwarts, with a clearly improved situation (though living with two Siriuses can be tiresome). Advances acquired from other worlds allowed Dumbledore to remove the curse on the Defense position. A cured Lupin has a fun time as a popular teacher. Even Snape left the school when a reality without James Potter was discovered.

In later years, Harry would graduate Hogwarts and become a very good Battle Wizard in the All Worlds War, but that is a story for another time ;)

I don't know why but I can't stop laughing. The thought of Snape eagerly following the discovering of each reality solely to find a world without James Potter amuses the hell out of me.

I have stumbled upon one of Taure's rants and have come up with a silly little story plot.

There are no actual Muggles, per se, just the Muggle you can run out off. If you run out of your Muggle in the first few years (before eleven, hopefully) - voulia, you're a wizard. If you don't, you continue to Muggle along through your years as if nothing is wrong.

Now, this means that Squibs are just born with more Muggle than other wizards.

This also means, than extremely old people have a chance to have run out of their Muggle. What interest is this idea? Well, you could have people realize that there's something different with Wizards, and that there is power to be had in old Muggleless people.

For example, take the moment when one Tom Marvolo Riddle finds his grandfather - supposedly a Muggle - mixed in great magical research in secret. Suprised that his Muggler half of the family isn't as Muggle as he thought them to be, Tom decides to use this new knowledge to better take over the world.

And since there are no real Muggles, his worldview is entirely different than that of a wishful pureblood.

After all, who wouldn't want to live forever in the new Riddle world order?

Better hope that your Muggle runs out faster than the purebloods make you extinct in a desperate attempt to deny the Riddle family new followers.

    ...
    I know, shamelessly silly.
    Muggle.

What the what in the what what?

This reminds me (sort of) of Jeram's plot bunny / drabble about an AU where wizards are the majority living in the open and muggles are the hidden ones with a secret society.

Thanks to CheddarTrek and Rhaegar I for giving their useful opinions on this.

Two weeks before Harry would enter Diagon Alley, Quirrell steals the Philosopher’s Stone from Gringotts.

Because he has not failed his mission, Voldemort does not possess him like in the books. Instead, he gives Quirrell instructions on how to prepare the stone and eventually uses it to restore his body. The Dark Lord has returned.

His remaining Death Eaters are summoned. Pettigrew is among them as his fear is still strong enough to make him leave the Weasleys. Voldemort is somewhat pleased that Wormtail has secured his wand. Snape also arrives with others, though Dumbledore already has been informed. Voldemort makes his usual grand speech and tortures those who disappointed him the most.

The Dark Lord declares that the last ten years gave him much to think about and he has decided that Harry Potter must die, for he was an unacceptable mistake. Seeing as Snape and Quirrell will be closest to the boy, they are ordered to bring him before their master. They are however forbidden from harming the boy on their own, as he belongs to Voldemort.

Dumbledore approaches Fudge and reveals that Lord Voldemort has returned. The Minister is terrified, but thankfully believes that Albus is telling the truth (this is a time when Fudge still trusts Albus). Things take a turn for the worse when it is revealed how the Dark Lord returned. Cornelius is furious as he blames Dumbledore for Voldemort’s return. This puts a strain between the two. Fudge also decides that the public will not be informed that You-Know-Who is back to avoid mass panic, but he makes sure that Aurors and other forces will be prepared as best as they can. Dumbledore meanwhile has no choice but to reactivate the Order of the Phoenix.

***Harry’s POV starts from this moment***

Harry is at the Dursleys, when suddenly Mad Eye Moody apparates into the living room, wand blazing and pointing at everyone. Petunia and Dudley are terrified, Vernon is furious at this display. Before any of them can do anything, the front door opens and McGonagall walks inside. She berates Moody for his behavior, but it is noted that her wand is also ready. (A bit strange, but Voldemort is back, you can never be sure.)

They demand to see Harry, so he comes forward. Minerva gives him the letter and Petunia is still too shocked by Moody’s entry to even notice. The boy reads what’s inside and predictably is quite surprised. The reveal that he thinks Lily and James died in a car crash makes both McG and Alastor quite upset.

Harry is promised the full truth by Moody and they depart to Diagon Alley (Harry taken via side-along apparation). They buy Harry’s school supplies and are quite surprised by Ollivander’s words about the sister wand. They don’t meet any of Potter’s future classmates though.

When the trip is done, they travel to Hogsmeade and walk to the castle, Harry is amazed by the sight. Minerva explains that he will be back here on September first with the other students. During the walk to the gates, he asks some questions and she gladly answers them. Eventually though, they arrive to speak with Dumbledore.

The four of them sit in his office and the tale of the Dark Lord and the Boy Who Lived begins. Harry is told that he must not tell anyone that the Dark Lord is back and the boy understands and makes his promise. Moody takes Harry back to Privet Drive and Harry is surprised to see that he has his own room now. (Turns out Alastor is more persuasive than Hagrid).

Due to the threat of Voldemort, Harry takes his schooling seriously and therefore already starts reading his textbooks. The Dursleys avoid him like the plague.

On September first, Moody takes Harry to King’s Cross via apparation and as a side effect the boy does not encounter the Weasleys. He does however, meet Draco. The Malfoy kid acts friendly toward Harry, but Potter cannot shake the feeling that the blonde is faking his nice behavior. (This turns out to be true later).

The two are joined by Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy. They are surprised to see Malfoy with the Boy Who Lived, but do not question his decisions. Though things are awkward at first, some common topics eventually emerge. Harry notes that they act as if he was too precious to scare away, but shrugs it off.

The sorting happens. Harry ends up in Slytherin, Draco is partially to blame for that. Things are mostly normal in the snake house for the Potter boy. The older students (mostly seventh years) seem to dislike him for some reason, but everyone else is careful around him. Since Draco and Pansy got to know him on the train, he speaks mostly with them (Crabbe and Goyle aren’t great to speak with). This awkward situation gets to Harry and one day he demands to know what’s up. He learns that many kids in Slytherin had Death Eater parents. ‘Oh.’

During the Potions lesson, Harry manages to answer most of Snape’s questions and the man seems to leave him alone after that. That is, until the evening. At the Headmaster’s wish, Snape is to begin teaching Harry Occlumency. It will take a lot of time to learn, probably most of the year, so it is important to begin as soon as possible. While Snape would rather not do this, there is not as much tension as in canon.

Harry does not make friends with Ron or Hermione. Mostly because he rarely meets them and partially due to Ron’s dislike of Slytherins. There are some mentions of them, like Hermione’s annoying know-it-all attitude and Ron’s fights with Malfoy. Harry stays out of it usually, unless things get out of control.

Due to an accident, Harry’s ability as a Parselmouth is revealed. This is very surprising to Slytherins. Some start to avoid him, others start being nice and some even look with suspicion and fear at the Boy Who Lived. They proceed with caution.

Being around Slytherins changes Harry. He resorts to violence less, is more reserved and careful. However, they are also affected by him, especially Draco and Pansy. They change from privileged brats to bearable housemates (though by no means model friends). Since Harry never became a Gryffindor Champion of Muggleborns, Pansy has no reason to hate him while Malfoy is still half-honest about his intentions, but Harry grows on him.

This version of the Boy Who Lived is more studious, dedicated and serious. He has a real threat of the Dark Lord above his head and cannot afford to slack off. He spends most of his time studying, learning Occlumency, dealing with older Slytherins and is a lot more careful and wary of people (he rarely walks alone). All in all, Harry is forced to grow up faster and take things seriously. This sometimes gets to him.

On Halloween, Quirrell makes his move and attacks Harry in a dark corridor. However, this move proves to be foolish, as Snape is also nearby and saves Harry's life. When the Defense Professor questions this action, Snape Obliviates him and the boy. However, that is not all what happens on that night, because when Harry wakes up the next day in his bed (not remembering what happened) he learns that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened.

Yes, a warning written in blood has been found near Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom. Some Slytherins think Harry is the heir, due to his abilities. Potter doesn’t know what to think, as he really cannot remember what happened. Is he the heir? Things are worse when two days later Hermione is found petrified. Word gets out that Harry is a parselmouth and predictable events occur, especially since he’s also a Slytherin. Harry is determined to prove his innocence. He even asks the Bloody Baron about the Chamber.

Voldemort breaks into Azkaban and frees his Death Eaters. Sirius escapes as well thanks to his Animagus abilities, as he realizes Harry will be in danger from Voldemort. This information is not shared with the public. Harry accidentally finds out during his Occlumency lessons about Black. Snape contemplates Obliviating him, but instead makes the boy promise not to reveal it to anyone.

Over the next weeks, two more students end up petrified. This is the real deal. Hagrid is arrested, but not taken to Azkaban, due to latest events there. Snape and Quirrell are both confused, as none of them know who is attacking the students, Voldemort didn’t tell them anything.

Sirius does not approach Dumbledore at first, acting on his own. He sneaks into Hogwarts to watch over Harry and hides in the Forbidden Forest during that time. He ends up meeting the Centaurs, who are not impressed by his actions. There are some close calls, but eventually they at least listen to him. They don’t help him or anything, but agree to leave him alone.

Snape tells Dumbledore that Black has not made contact with Voldemort. Since both of them know that Pettigrew is with Voldemort, they wonder if Black is innocent after all.

Sirius eventually encounters Severus at night when the latter is patrolling the castle grounds. Despite his desire to see Black dead, Snape hears him out. He demands from Sirius to perform an Unbreakable Vow and eventually the Animagus gives in. The Vow requires Black to speak absolute truth to Snape whenever the Potions Master demands it. A very humbling scene follows, where Severus forces Black to explain his school behavior and his reasons for the entire Werewolf Incident. The two almost come to blows, but Albus arrives just in time. He questions both of them and Snape grudgingly confirms Sirius’ version of events. Sirius joins the Order, but Grimmauld Place is not headquarters, as Bellatrix got there first. For the time, Sirius hides in Hagrid’s hut in his dog form.

And then Harry wakes up alone in the Chamber. No Tom Riddle, no basilisk, nothing. He attempts to leave but as he is near the exit, he hears laughter behind him. He turns around and sees another Harry with red eyes. They fight for a bit, but Harry is no match for the other Potter. The enemy ends up Obliviating our hero, before laughing that they will never find out. [1]

The Chamber attacks stop and Hagrid is still blamed.

Harry eventually gets to meet Sirius and sometimes travels to him using his cloak and the two share stories. One time, when Potter is about to walk to Sirius, he is attacked by Quirrell and taken to Voldemort. Severus learns about this and warns Black.

The Dark Lord makes a nice speech, tortures Harry a little and eventually casts the Killing Curse at him, which rebounds and destroys Voldemort's body once more. [2] All of Harry’s removed memories come back. The encounter with Quirrell and the fight in the Chamber. He’s confused as hell.

Voldemort’s another defeat is such a shocking event that it causes the Death Eaters to fall into chaos. Aurors and the Order arrive. Harry manages to escape the building and Sirius apparates him to Hogsmeade, where Aberforth brings him to castle. Pettigrew is seriously injured in the battle and is captured by Aurors.

Voldemort is of course not truly dead and once again restores his body with the Philosopher's Stone, this time with Bella’s help. He is however convinced that he must get the prophecy, for he does not understand why he is unable to properly kill the boy.

After the entire mess, Harry discovers that his scar seems faded. He speaks with Dumbledore about his discovery and they figure out that Harry himself was indeed behind the attacks (though unwillingly), but it isn’t enough to free Hagrid. Dumbledore does however manage to restore Sirius' innocence in the eyes of the ministry, thanks to the capture of Pettigrew. There are however no apologies or monetary compensations. The rat is subjected to the Dementor's Kiss under Fudge’s orders.

Voldemort's return is finally revealed to the public and a worried Harry returns to Privet Drive.

    -----
    Some explanations:

[1] When Voldemort restored his body using the stone, the inherent healing magic of the artifact spread around his Horcruxes, making them more alive. This included the Horcrux inside Harry, which caused him to have a split personality. The ‘Other Harry’ was a temporary manifestation, similar to Memory-Riddle from CoS.

[2] The reason the curse rebounded once again is because Harry was still fully protected by his mother’s sacrifice (the same thing that destroyed Quirrell in canon) and Voldemort did not use Harry’s blood in his restoration. This is also the reason why Voldemort’s Horcrux in Harry was destroyed, yet Harry lives.

The bit with Grimmauld confuses me slightly. Bella is neither of the main Black bloodline, only Sirius and Regulus were, nor is she a Black any longer. What rights would she have over Grimmauld? Or rather, how would she even go about acquiring it? I'm not sure if I'm remembering things clearly here, but didn't Sirius' father, Orion, install a shitload of wards around the place? Wards which presumably could be controlled by one of his blood? Of course this could be just complete fanwank on my part and I'm simply filling up for the holes on my own.

But anyway, interesting premise, that's for sure. Kind of makes me wonder how Pansy and Draco would exactly act around Harry.

And now your punishment is to actually write it all the way out, Xandrel, because I'm getting sick and tired of you putting up good stuff here that continues to linger in limbo.

Had I any talent at writing or the propensity for such, I'd try and give it a shot, but I know my limitations and so I must abstain.

It is not that Bella would have any right to the place. It is that she would cast the Killing Curse at Sirius the moment he appeared there. It is not worth risking appearing in such a known (to her) place if she's with Voldemort already.

The bit about Sirius' father is fanon, as are wards.

I can't write it, Odran. Though I wish I would :) Anyway, my intention is and always has been to create these Bunnies in hope that either someone adopts them or is at least inspired by them in some way.

A thousand curses of incurable craving for sweets of the most wretched combinations - pumpkins and curry, honey and tomato, chocolate and sea water - upon you and your progeny then!

    /joke ends here

Keep pumping those plot bunnies out, sooner or later someone will write about it.
