    Daphne is a Ministry employee sent to decommission Azkaban.

    Daphne is a member of the Order attempting to break someone out of Azkaban.

    Daphne is a Death Eater attempting to break someone out of Azkaban.

    Daphne is both of those things.

    Daphne's soul is stolen by a Dementor that returns to Azkaban and she manages to overwhelm the creature from within.

    Daphne is a life-long prisoner of Azkaban.

    Daphne is a pureblood witch aiding Harry to invade Azkaban to free his allies. They fuck somewhere in between the maelstrom.

    Nice to sync up every now and again if I want to leech off those creative juices and overthrow you as the reigning winner this round.

    Ah, I have just the solution for that.

    But seriously, throw in a few lines about 'such and such relative/enemy did not do well in Azkaban blah blah Daphne/Harry/whomever does or does not care' and as long as the rest of the story is solid, you'll probably be fine.

    If Azkaban wins we'll still do a Daphne competition - it might just be two weeks to write instead of two months or so. Breathe. It'll actually be fun.

    Probably not flash, no - that'd be too short, and likely a 2-day (48-hour) competition. People probably want more than that given this popularity, and flash might be frustratingly short. If this happens I'll make a new thread for it in a week or two once we have Q2 off to a solid start.

    Honestly I'm more invested in Daphne for the salt now. That, and watching everyone write an Azkaban fic that happens to include Daphne.

    The poll is not anonymous - don't vote if you don't at least intend to write a story.

    Daphne Greengrass & Azkaban tied. Vote on how you'd like me to handle that.

    Option 1: Q2 Competition with "Azkaban" as the prompt. A separate 2-3 week competition with slightly different rules will run alongside this one for "Daphne" and start mid-April.

    Option 2: Write for either prompt for the Q2 competition.

    Option 3: Include both prompts for the Q2 competition, even if one of them gets significantly less focus than the other.​

    Good breakdown for how they would go, Ched. Personally, I'd rather option 2 or maybe 3 wins just so I don't have to try and pull up another story at this point.

    Or... Daphne is a lifelong prisoner of Azkaban who had her soul stolen by a dementor, but who overwhelmed it from within, and is a member of the Order who spies on both the Ministry and Death Eaters but whose true master is Harry, who she is aiding in invading Azkaban in order to free his allies and turn it into his personal fortress.

    Someone write it. Now.

    It is surely a masterpiece in the making.

    Everyone got their ideas rolling? I have an idea that I've massaged from a concept into about 80% of an outline... who knows, maybe I'll finish writing this time. My track record is shit - started writing for each competition, competed in none of them.

    Settled on my concept. Think it'll be a fun exploration of a theme I touched upon a year or so back. Have the general outline but still need to nail down the finer details.
    EDIT: Lol here I go again, endlessly spinning my wheels on three different concepts and gaining no traction for any of them.
    EDIT2: And... I'm out. I'm burnt out with trying to wrangle this together, and I don't see myself hitting all of the notes even if I can force something before the deadline. C'est la vie. Good luck to the competitors.
