Is that the expectation that the story be complete? I've had a Daphne idea for a while but it won't be finished in 17.5k words.

 

I apologize if this is the wrong place to do this (I wasn't sure which subforum would be appropriate) - but I need to beg for a beta for my contest entry. Is there anyone who would be interested? My entry is a humor piece, lighthearted and in a similar spirit as Fat!Harry.

 

So... How's everyone going?

Just started but going for a short 1.5-2k One shot so think I should be able to smash it all out tomorrow.

 

I'll have to cut down my entry if I submit anything. It's about five thousand words, but the density of content isn't there.

 

I'm really under the gun for this one. I forgot all about it until 2 weeks ago or so. I don't have nearly as much time as I'd like to write these days, but I've got 7.5k words and I need a lot more, and then I have to edit it all. Worse case scenario, I have to chop the second scene off which would be a shame.

 

I probably won't submit anything this round, unless I suddenly get an idea for a short story. I had two concepts but honestly both of them were terrible, so I'd rather sit back and review than submit total crap. Still, I'll try to think of something until tomorrow and if I don't get any ideas, I'll make sure to at least review the entries.

 

I'm a bit unsure too, at about 8k words right now, but my idea was a bit half-assed and the story reads really weakly. It's a bit too late to restart at this point though.

 

When's the deadline again? Having trouble finding it.

 

I’m not happy with mine. I’ll still try to submit it.

 

Mine's near 11k right now, so I'm going to have to cut it short since I need to actually edit it as well. Unfortunately it's an action scene I'm cutting, but that's what poor planning and a deadline will do to you.

 

So is that June 14th end of day or end of day 13th?

 

Okay, I genuinely feel bad about this. And even worse because it looks like I'm copypasting Sorrows' post. I started a new job in March and have neglected my entry (really, all of my writing) for three months. I have a few scenes, but it's nowhere near completion, not even up to the minimum standard where I'd feel ok posting in WBA.

 

Hah, I pulled something up that was almost completely removed from everything else I'd been hammering away at to no avail. Probably shite, but it's done, it's in, and now I wait for the cold, sinking dread to wash through me as Halt and co rip it to shreds in the coming weeks.

 

On the same boat here, I've got about two scenes left to churn out and I'm certain everything else I've written already reads very badly.

 

I'm editing. All I can say is 1.5 days is not enough to do it right.
