Currently, if you search for a type a story by rating and nothing else... well it shows that rating and every other rating before that.
Simply, look for M rated fic and you will also see rated K, K+, T.
Is this meant to be that way or is it a bug?

It's meant to filter out anything above the selected rating, so your precious virgin eyes aren't violated.

is there any way to filter out everything except the selected rating? The K-T stories tend to hold little intrest for me as there is rarely much fighting.

You can do the "NOT" filter search. It is described in the tooltip how when inverting the search it searches for all stories with a rating greater than or equal to the value in the box rather than less than or equal to.

I tried doing the NOT function for rating and said for it not to show me N-17 rated stories, and those were the only stories it showed me, I am guessing this is a bug.

It's been long since fixed in 1.0.2, considering it uses a different type of search engine.

@sgtoutlaw, from what I can tell, clicking "NOT" will cause the search engine to search for for ratings that are above the rating that you had selected in the drop down box. On the other hand, by not selecting "NOT" the search engine will produce results for the rating you selected in the drop down box and lower.

    Is this correct Lord Ravenclaw?

@sgtoutlaw, I believe some of your confusion is that you might have thought that by clicking "NOT", the search engine would filter out the story with "blah" rating? Is this right?

Correct. NOT flips <= (Less than or equal to) to >= (Greater than or equal to).
