If you're looking for this kind of story and don't mind the hints of gary-stu, it's good. Perhaps too many OCs introduced.

I don't like Voldemort's characterization here— he's too generic a character even if that was the author's intention. There's no arrogance and all canon!Voldemort possesses in both his actions and words. Especially when there's bits like "strange emotion". Reads annoyingly like a story about someone falling in love for the first time. Too much internal monologue type.

And not just Voldemort. After a while I got sick of the OCs and unneeded detail.

Writing style isn't that interesting either though. Dialogue / description falls flat, no subtlety. There isn't much to generate discussion or interest.

It does have good bits though. I started getting curious around when Voldemort started hinting that he was the Dark Lord. Had wondered how he'd explain it to a child. Although the story can be info-dump, the premise of Voldemort being the one saying everything is interesting, maybe shedding light on what he did on his 'travels'. Some of what Voldemort was teaching are uncharacteristic, though eg... farmers, really?

    .

Enjoyed chapter 8. Writing about the battle was decent, and the scene's progression was good. Rather want to read more now. Over-dramatic, but not that bad. Found chapter 11 hilarious.

Really good for a quick read, although there can be more.

    3 / 5

Didn't really like it. Pretty unrealistic, and I stopped reading around chapter 7 or 8. I'd give this story a 3/5.

Son of a bitch. I was hoping that no one had put this story up so I could recommend it and ease my way into DLP. But then Dewgs had to put it up and show off. Dick.

But (Semi-)seriously, it's a great story. The idea of this is great; rather than 'Voldemort takes in Harry as his protege/son/minion' this is new. It's interesting to have Revelin grow up in a different country rather than England, which makes sense as it would be a stupid place to have a kid there in wartime and as a relation of the Dark Lord. It looks like the author at least studied some of the culture which is more than alot of authors I've read do.

Voldemort is portrayed quite well in my respect, he still believes in his agenda and his shaping of Revelin show thought. I can't wait to see how Revelin shapes up to be, I really hope following in his grandfather's footsteps though; I'm sick of seeing stories have a premise like this and then things go the other way. Having Voldemort show parental concern is both funny as Hell and just as scary though.

I'm giving this a 4/5 for now. I'll wait and see how it shapes up. The author updates pretty fast.
