Part of me wants to give this story the benefit of the doubt, as the author has said that there will be major divergences after 1st year, and the politicking has potential for being interesting.

However, there's the fact that the author is making us sit through first year, where the changes thus far have been... less than appealing, and the direction thus far is very much so too much of a philosopher's stone rehash. Also the politicking is terrible in Harry Potter stories 99.998% of the time.

I found myself skimming a bit too often during this story, because I've already read this story, as it currently stands. See: nearly every other time travel au in the Harry Potter fandom.

The recommended story - just no. 2/5 just for being well written.

On the other hand, Ectomancer was updated back in '09 - when I saw that I was "damn, has it really been that long... ?!".
I don't know if you've mentioned something about it else where, but any chances for you, you know, to write some more awesome Harry and Tonks for us Rusty? Please...?

It's readable. I'd put it in my almost-almost-recommended pile. It starts real bad, gets a bit better.

    2.5/5

Not what I'm inclined to read, although it is decently written so I feel others might like it. The general plot of the story is so cumbersome because its been done so many times, I couldn't bother reading it through. I just lost interest a few chapters in and if a story can't hold my interest then its just not worth the time in my books.

2/5 from me for the decent grammar and generally good writing.
