    Pfft, yeah man. Not a big deal. Bitches love Master league. Also, apparently IGN is going to be hosting a $150k proleague pretty soon. That, along with MLG, NASL, and the thousands of smaller tournaments is going to bring SC into the spotlight pretty soon.

    P.S.: My secret to getting into Master's was playing a ton of 1v1 obs games with a friend on skype telling me what my opponents were doing. Surprisingly good practice.

    Wait, you can observe ranked matches? Or did you play custom and just practice countering?

    Also, I purposely put myself into bronze 3v3. Not the best idea. 90% of the time my allies are complete retards, or people who have only played the game once or twice. Last game I had these two guys played protoss and one decided to funnel the other guy money, while only getting static defenses and no production buildings. He had 3 bases, one of them gold. The other guy? 10 gateways. Not warpgates, gateways. :|

    Yeah, I actually think Poobah's strategy makes a lot of sense. Teaches you to react quickly to whatever is coming at you, that way in a real laddered match it will have become somewhat automatic to do so based on your scouting and what the other person throws at you. Don't think it's cheap at all.

    Just curious-anyone have any comments on the 1.3 patch?

    The removal of the archon toilet makes me sad. Was such fun to do (and damn hard to pull off).

    I don't like the patch. Templar are too fragile and they stand out too much for the amulet nerf to make sense. The EMP nerf makes it less bad, but I still don't like it. They should have just changed the amulet to what it was in BW or something.

    Also I don't like getting rid of options. If every balance patch is a nerf you'll just wind up with a really stale game.

    This is kind of where I'm at right now. It seems that Blizzard is pushing Protoss towards collosus heavy play more and more. Investing the huge amount of gas needed to tech to HT, then summon them, and then have to wait til they can be of use (beyond feedback) is just stupid when you can go robo tech and get more variation out of it.

    High Templar are -not- useless now.

    But that's only because they're necessary to stop Zerg from raping your entire army. Infestor buff is fucking HUGE against Toss's deathball, and you simply -can't- let more than a very few number of fungals go off. Feedback dat shit.

    I would've liked it if the amulet was nerfed and gave 20 energy instead of 25. Would still get rid of the 'INSTANT STORM' but gives a very good defensive unit.

    Other reactions - terran nerfs to stim and bunker timings make that an even easier matchup than usual.

    So ZvP got a decent amount harder in terms of midgame transitions, can't rely on the deathball anymore, TvP got a lot easier early game and a lot harder late in macro battles... and I still fucking hate PvP.

    By the way, infestors are now ridiculous death machines. You can almost just go pure ling infestor against protoss now. The 30% damage buff and higher dps are pretty silly.

    Nope, because it isn't. :) That was something they tried on the PTR, but it was removed before the patch went live.

    I am master league player playing random.

    The 1.3 patch changed TvP alot, the increased stim time actually ruined few very strong timing pushes that abused protosses 2 gate robo, and even 3 gate robo fe. The templar nerf was very needed since it was kind of ridiculous how micro intensive fighting tvp actually was, one misstep and you lose the game basically.

    Managing ghosts, bio, vikings while always having a sufficient concave was a fucking nightmare.

    Anyways, hope to play with some of you soon.

    Seriously, I would actually like this. On my Euro account I was playing a "grudge match" with a friend of mine, and since he had been bragging all day, I decided to 4gate him.

    He did the same.

    Longest 4gate fucking EVAR. Seriously, it ended up going on for 17 minutes, and the only reason I won was because he decided to hold back for a push, and I got out an immortal.

    Oh, I lol'd.

    The Baneling being able to roll up cliffs when they've got the speed upgrade does sound appealing in a twisted sort of way, but that would obviously be severely overpowered and wreck the game's already tenuous balance.

    Shame, since unlike in the original game, Starcraft II is just a camp-fest with the constant use of ramps in bases.

    Starcraft I ladder maps had wide open areas and bases, forcing players to arrange their defences pretty carefully; all you need to do in Starcraft II is block the ramp/bottleneck.
