I must have read this years ago and just had the pleasure of rereading it. All I can say is "MOAR".

Wow, that's a surprise! (I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't still 1 April).

If I recall, this story was written for a DLP writing contest that had a dystopia theme and there were at least a couple other stories in that competition (mine took last place). Perhaps check out the others?

Incidentally, with several new, active authors on the site since we last ran them, perhaps it might be good to consider bringing back the competitions? They didn't always have the greatest level of participation, but many good stories came out of them.
