Would it be possible to get story and author alerts sent to your DLP account as a PM or something? I know I check DLP a helluva lot more than my e-mail or PC.

Definitely would be a plus for me. I despise checking email for alerts...and it would save me the loads of time I spend checking the site itself for updates on certain fics.

Don't you all use email for ff.net (and other fanfic archives) alerts? It's easier for me if my ff.net, tth, etc alerts all come in by just one route, whether it's email, rss, im, or whatever.

After thinking about this more: perhaps a glowing star icon or something up near "UserCP" or "Welcome, User" to indicate a link to a new update would be useful to some.

    e-mail alerts foe FF.net?
Lol, I just routinely click about eighty bookmarks. Stupid, but it's how I roll.

I just keep a favorites list that I check on a daily basis. Or, rather, checked. I got out of the habit of actually paying attention to Fanfiction, recently...

PC has RSS feeds. PM integration might come later.

For now, though, you could simply ask the authors to PM you when they update. That's how it's done over on TheForce.net, the Star Wars boards.

I'd imagine that it's pretty annoying to PM large numbers of people.

yeah, it is. I had a list of about twenty people I was supposed to PM when I updated. Took forever, even with recycling the same message.

I'd just get an FFnet account. I check my profile bidaily and my favorites list. The stories that are updated are at the top by default.

I use my FFN c2 for it. I have my c2 page with sortby:update settings bookmarked. I check it whenever I want to see if any new updates are waiting for me. Better than cluttering up your favourites list with random junk... I reserve that for stories I find truly great/interesting.

A PM integration in PC would be truly epic. I know enough to refrain from asking for a c2-like feature in PC... Raven doesn't even get paid for that shit.
