    Challenge 2: Quoth, The Raven

I hope that the recent demise of Lungs is enough to light a fire under your asses, fleshlings. Because after this challenge, one more of you must, as you put it, meet your maker. Today's challenge will be a test of both your creativity and your cunning. As a team, you will be writing a short story in the style of Edgar Allen Poe. You will be judged on your ability to create suspense and horror, as well as your plot and fluidity.

Now, where does the cunning come in, you may ask? Well, that's because you won't be writing ALL of your story. As a tribe, you will be prompting the other tribe with an opening sentence. Poe was the king of hooking his readers from the first line, so you will be tested on your ability to salvage a story from a truly terrible first line. You have 12 hours to decide as a team what your opposing tribe's opening line will be, at which point I will give you your opening lines and send you off to the races, as you will have 24 hours to complete the story. If an Opening Line is not bolded in your house QT for submission by the end of 12 hours, the opposing team will be told that they have free reign over the content of their story.

Good luck fleshlings. Soon one of you will live, nevermore.
    -----
Also, to those requesting one on one's. I will get those done as soon as I have a moment, but remember as per my ruleset, you are free to talk through chat and other mediums.

By Unanimous choice, The Garou are the victors! (I'd say more about this but Google Chrome just ate my big ass post and I can't be arsed to write it out again right now).

Vampires, you have 24 hours until Tribal. I will be using this time to finally catch up on all the 1 on 1 QTs requested.

    Welcome to Tribal Council, Vampires

Here, tonight, one of your lives will become forfeit to me. Who that will be is decided by you 7. To help your decision, I have a few questions for you to answer!

    1) Was this challenge a team effort or did a few people step up?
    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?
    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?
    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?

You have 24 hours to submit a vote and answer the above questions. If you fail to submit a vote, your vote will be counted against you.

    1) Was this challenge a team effort or did a few people step up?
Despite our best intentions, it wasn't a team effort. Some people participated more than others, even when they could have. But alas, none of us are Lyrium, with her ridiculous work ethic.

    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?
Those who could've stepped up when they had a chance should be culpable. Some people weren't able to contribute because they were away; that's not too bad. However, people who were actually online at the time and could've helped more? I'm not sure.

    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?
Old Gorgon Tribe is no more, thanks to the decisions made by the Host. I don't know how we're all going to vote, but I know that I'm always going to be in trouble to some extent. Ultimately, nobody is safe in this game. :(

    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?
The cake is a lie. (Portal <3)

    1) Was this challenge a team effort or did a few people step up?
While not completely a team effort, a large majority of us did contribute. Poytin definitely deserves some commemoration for his work on the story. I was honestly surprised we lost since I was very satisfied with the turned in result.
    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?
I think it definitely depends on the reasoning behind their lack of participation.
    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?
Old Tribal lines shouldn't matter, since we're all one big happy family now. Since to my knowledge, there is no immunity just yet, anyone could technically go.
    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?
Well, at least I wouldn't be the first to die. So I have that going for me.

Also, Lexicat: Would we still be allowed to use one on one QTs, if/when we get them, at this point?

Yes you would, if I was fucking not lazy about 1 on 1s. Remember that I have not limited your communication and you ARE allowed to talk on IRC and stuff.

    1) Was this challenge a team effort or did a few people step up?
I think the majority of the Tribe put in effort, though I agree with CrackedMind that Poytin put in a lot of effort and did a fabulous job; I'm both surprised and dismayed to see the results of the challenge.

    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?
I believe that everyone should contribute as much as they can with the skills that they have. "Stepping up" is more subjective than it may first seem.

    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?
Considering the old tribe was set for a pretty short amount of time (1 challenge), I consider our current Tribe as good as unified.

    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?
Forum Survivor is pretty cool, and I'm glad I manged to get a taste of it.

Some people helped more than others. Although still have a slight depression that what I still consider to be the best thing I've ever written lost my team the challenge.

    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?

God I hope that participating more doesn't knock someone out.

    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?

Nah. They were disbanded early enough that they're essentially the same as anyone else in the tribe.

    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?

    Quoth the raven, 'Nevermore.'

Team effort. Poytin and a few others did the writing, those of us who aren't naturally writers helped with ideas and editing though. Everyone contributed something.

    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?

Uh. Well, it's writing. Blaming the people who worked the hardest to win the challenge would be stupid and insane. On the other hand, when each challenge plays to different members' strengths, not everyone is going to be able to contribute equally every time.

    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?

    Nah.

    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?

I'd be surprised just because I'm a terrible choice. I fully intend to dominate the fuck out of future challenges.

It would also mean that a few people have missed the fact that I want to work with them. My plan from the very start has been to find a couple good allies and fight to defend them until the very end, and I definitely still hope that is what happens.

If not, I had fun playing with everyone and would still look forward to contributing as part of Redemption Island and the final jury to decide the winner.

It was a team effort, though I'd definitely say Poytin gets the MVP. We all gave ideas in the various stages and I'm actually very shocked that we lost this one.

    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?
Honestly it's hard to say with a challenge like this. Poytin did some great writing, and our editors did a hell of a good job. Even the ideas we had for the sentence we gave them we tried to go in as hard as possible.

    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?
Nope, they only had one challenge against us so it's hard to see them as anything else than Vampires.
    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?
I'd be kinda sad I missed out on the graphic design challenges, that's definitely my strength and one of the reasons I signed up to play the game.

Poytin is the MVP, here -- he put a lot of effort into the challenge by writing the actual Poe-like story, while others (including myself) suggested ideas and revised certain passages.

    2) Should those who step up to participate in a challenge like this be held responsible for the loss, or are those who do less more culpable?

The latter; gotta pull your own weight, otherwise you're dead weight.

    3) Is this vote based on old tribal lines? Are the Gorgons in trouble?

Nope! Hard to get attached to something that you were only apart of for a day or so. (Less than that, I guess? I sleep at very odd times).

    4) If it is your turn to die tonight, any last words?

"Perhaps this is a good day to die! Prepare for ramming speed!"

"You know... I could tell you the results now, or I could keep you hanging for the night~. See you later, Vampires. You'll have your answer in the morning!"

Heading back to camp was a less than pleasurable experience that night, you thought. I mean, after all, you would rather just know your fate right away! Still, you felt comfortable in your position on the tribe. Closing your eyes, 7 little vampires went to bed.

"Morning Fleshlings~. I have a present for you! I thought you might be, ah, bored. So I brought you a little game to keep your mind off the inevitability of your death!"

She taps the large cube shaped present sitting next to her, wrapped up with a nice little bow. It makes an odd squishing sound as she taps it, which turns your stomach.

You step forward to untie the bow, and then recoil in horror at the sight laid before you. A perfect 3 by 3 by 3 Rubix Cube, comprised of large chunks of meat, connected by bones and tendons.

She spins one of the sections.
"See? Fully functional!" A maniacal giggle escapes her lips as she flips her hair and walks away, calling back.

"Enjoy your Rubicon Cube, Vampires. You're one step closer to the prize!"

Rubicon was a Puzzle, wrapped in an Enigma, shrouded in Gore Night 2.

    Challenge 3: Hack and Slash

In today's challenge, you're going to each channel your inner horror movie slasher, and try and kill the opposing fleshlings. In private, your team captains will assign you numbers 1 through 6. These numbers are known as your Power Ranking. You will be placed on a 6 by 6 grid, and are allowed to move 1 space every 4 hours.

If you move onto the space of another person, you will both have your power rankings revealed. The player with the higher ranking (higher number) will will, and the other player will be removed from the game. The only exception to this is if a 6 meets a 1, in which case the 1 will remove the 6 from the game. Positions and movements will be public, but numbers will remain private with the exception of them being revealed in a combat. Ties result in both players being removed from the board. The team who removes all the opposing teams players first, wins!

As mentioned above, you will move once every 4 hours. This challenge will begin when you give me your power rankings. Positions on the board will be randomized along the back row of each side of the board.

    ---------- Post automerged 02-17-2014 at 03:45 AM ---------- Previous post was 02-16-2014 at 04:28 PM ----------

Lists have been submitted! Here are your starting placements. Know that the board goes 1 to 6 from top to bottom, and A to F, from left to right.

    ------------------------------------------
    |A1-Zeit | B1 | C1 | D1 | E1 | F1-Naeblis |
    ------------------------------------------
    |A2-Lion | B2 | C2 | D2 | E2 | F2-Caligula |
    ------------------------------------------
    |A3-Jorm | B3 | C3 | D3 | E3 | F3-Moridin |
    --------------------------------------------
    |A4-Cracked | B4 | C4 | D4 | E4 | F4-Luckylee |
    -----------------------------------------------
    |A5-Poytin | B5 | C5 | D5 | E5 | F5- Zenzao |
    -----------------------------------------------
    |A6-Citrus | B6 | C6 | D6 | E6 | F6- Lyrium |
    ---------------------------------------------

Challenge starts now! 4 hours per post, remember! Anything done before 4 hours WILL NOT COUNT. No other penalty will occur for that post, but the Host will not tell you it is invalid until the grid is updated. I will update the grid as much as humanly possible.
